Apparatus to drive plasma display panel (PDP) |
(57) An apparatus to drive a Plasma Display Panel (PDP) reduces heat by preventing a current
generated by a sustain discharge from affecting a drive circuit. The apparatus is
to drive a PDP including discharge cells and at least first and second electrodes.
The apparatus includes: a display data signal supplier adapted to supply a display
data signal to the second electrodes during an address period where a discharge cell
of the discharge cells in which the discharge is to occur has been selected; and a
switching unit adapted to switch to prevent a current generated by a sustain pulse
supplied to the first electrodes from flowing through the display data signal supplier
during a sustain period where the discharge occurs in the selected discharge cell.
