(54) System and method controlling the coupling between the driveshaft and the primary gear shaft in a motor vehicle with a servo-controlled gearbox

(57) What is described is a control system (20) for controlling the coupling between a driveshaft (30) of a motor vehicle propulsion system (E) and a primary input shaft (34) of a gearbox (G) by means of a servo-assisted friction clutch (32).
A control unit receives at its input signals indicating a command imparted by the driver of the motor vehicle by operating the accelerator pedal (PACC) in a driving-away or gear-changing manoeuvre, and generates - on the basis of a mathematical reference model - reference torque request signals (CMRif, CFRif) indicating the reference torques requested from the driveshaft (30) and from the friction clutch (32), the said request signals or data varying in time in such a way as to cause synchronization between the angular velocities (ωMRif, ωPRif) of the driveshaft (30) and of the primary gear shaft (34) to be reached at the same moment as the difference between the angular accelerations of the said shafts (30, 34) becomes zero.
