(54) Optical recording medium


(57) A method for manufacturing an optical recording medium having a groove track on which pits carrying data are to be formed, and a land pre-pit track connected to said groove track, wherein a plurality of land prepits are previously formed on said land pre-pit track, is disclosed in which land pre-pits are formed by
a step for shifting a spot of a cutting light beam projected onto a mask sheet in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which said groove information track extends; and a step for returning said spot after being shifted, wherein said groove information track is thereby made to have a smaller track width in at least a part of each of sections in which said land prepit exists, than in sections in which no land prepit exists.
