Object of the Invention
[0001] As indicated by the title, the present invention relates to an anti-theft cabinet
for entertainment and slot machines, which has been conceived and carried out to obtain
a number of considerable anti-vandalism and anti-theft advantages.
[0002] The cabinet is provided for protecting different parts of entertainment and slot
machines: sides and rear part, and especially to safeguard the coin collection box
and the front door by means of cylinder locks with double-acting cam-operated latches,
such that no lever forces can be carried out on either the cabinet or on said machines.
The cylinders provided are identical to those used for entertainment and slot machines,
such that people involved in the industrial use of the machine (owner, maintenance
technician, etc) can open the locks of the anti-theft cabinet and of the machines
with a single key.
Background of the Invention
[0003] No other devices that are similar to the present invention applied to this type of
machines are currently known. Document
ES-10570760 discloses an anti-theft cabinet designed to protect the coin collection box in entertainment
and slot machines.
Description of the Invention
[0004] The invention relates to a U-shaped cabinet with a front door reaching about mid-height,
intended to safeguard the coin collection box inside this type of machines. Furthermore,
in the same front part it has two arms encircling the upper front part of the machine
and which by means of a double articulation enables separating said arms from the
front part which, together with the aforementioned collapsible door, also collapsed,
leave the front space free for putting the machine in the cabinet and taking it out.
Once said machine is inside the cabinet, both the upper arms and the lower door are
returned to their closed position.
[0005] The mechanism intended to lock the arms and the door consists of a cylinder which,
by means of a double-acting cam, is able to move latches by means of a steel wire,
this wire transmits the lever force produced in the cam located in the shaft of the
cylinder to the moving latches locking the door and the arms. Said latches remain
inserted in guides which, in the case of the door are tubes and in the case of the
arms are notches made in the flat bars of said arms.
Brief Description of the Drawings
[0006]
Figure 1 shows an isometric perspective view of the cabinet with the arms and the
door in the locked position.
Figure 2 shows a profile elevational view of the cabinet, in which the situation of
the mechanisms placed in the arms and in the door for the locking thereof can be seen.
Figure 3 shows a detailed view of the mechanism for actuating the two moving latches
at the same time by means of a cylinder for locking or unlocking the arms. This view
shows the mechanism in its two locked and unlocked states.
Figure 4 shows a detailed view of the mechanism for actuating the two moving latches
at the same time by means of a cylinder for locking or unlocking the lower door of
the cabinet.
Description of a Preferred Embodiment
[0007] Figures 1 and 2 show how the cabinet is formed by a U-shaped sheet steel envelopment
(1) 3 mm thick, having a geometry that is suited to the outer dimensions of this type
of machines supported by four legs (5). Two weldable hinges (6) are welded to this
sheet envelopment which allow the articulation of the lower door (2) in which a lever
cylinder lock (14) with a double-acting cam (10) is assembled for locking said door,
which is what protects the door of the coin collection box of the entertainment and
slot machines from lever actions and theft. The door is locked (Figure 4) by means
of transmitting linear movement through a steel wire (11) 2.7 mm in diameter, the
ends of which are hook-shaped, produced by a 90° turn of a double-acting cam (10)
operated by a cylinder (14) which is normally used in this type of machines. However,
when this double-acting cam (10) turns about its axis, it moves each of the two wires
(11) in opposite directions, moving latches (12) through guides (13), until being
housed inside other guides, the latter being welded to the envelopment of the cabinet,
the door being locked at the top and bottom with a simple 90° turn of the key on the
cylinder.
[0008] Furthermore, 2 arms have been provided in the upper front part of the cabinet, the
upper arm (4) with a depth that is less than the lower arm (3), which is because of
the outer dimensions of this type of machines. These two arms are attached to the
cabinet on the left side with a bolt (8) welded to the cabinet, but not to the arm,
acting as a hinging pin for each of the arms, thus obtaining a vertical rotational
movement of the arm in relation to the cabinet. Each arm has a hinge (7) welded to
the left flat bar of the arm and to the front flat bar in the case of the lower arm
(3), and to the round rod in the case of the upper arm (4). A horizontal 180° rotational
movement is obtained with this hinge such that the two arms can be separated from
the front part of the cabinet, collapsed towards the left (movement allowed by the
hinge) and supported downwards (movement allowed by the bolt welded to the cabinet
functioning as a hinging pin for the arm).
[0009] A mechanism identical to the door mechanism has been provided so as to lock the two
arms simultaneously, but the guides in which the latches are housed to lock the door
have been replaced with notches made in the flat bars of the right part of the arms
(Figure 3).
1. An anti-theft cabinet for entertainment and slot machines, intended to protect the
coin collection box of the entertainment and slot machines from vandalistic actions
and theft, provided with a lower housing and collapsible arms (3, 4) in the upper
part, with the lower housing consisting of a U-shaped envelopment body: (1) and also
provided with locking mechanisms for the arms (3, 4), characterized in that said body (1) is closed at the front by a collapsible door (2), in that the mentioned arms (3, 4) of the upper front part can collapse in both horizontal
and vertical planes as a result of providing a hinge (7) intercalated between the
branches of each arm, and a pin for linking each arm to the structure of the machine,
and in that said locking mechanisms also operate on the lower door (2) in the closed situations,
each of these mechanisms being formed by a double-acting cam (10) actuated by a cylinder
(14), by means of which movement is transmitted to two latches (12) which are guided
through a respective sleeve (13), through wires (11) with hook-shaped ends which move
each of said latches in opposite direction with respect to one another, all these
mechanisms being able to be actuated by means of the same key used for opening or
closing the door of the coin collection box or the main door of the entertainment
and slot machine.

Blockiermechanismen für die Arme (3, 4) versehen ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der genannte Körper (1) frontal mittels einer klappbaren Tür (2) geschlossen ist;
