(54) Mounting arrangement for the guide railsof a window cover

(57) The invention relates to a window frame to which a roller blind, screen or similar external window cover is mounted. At the vertical frame profiles a separate, longitudinal side guide profile (4a, 4b) is removably mounted wherein the side edges of the roller blind (15) engage. At the top side of the window frame a top box (3) is mounted comprising a shaft (16) onto which the roller blind or similar is wrapped. The side guide profiles (4a, 4b) have along their length a profile (14) engaging into a projection (12) at the window frame. Displacement of the side guide profile (4a, 4b) parallel to itself in all directions perpendicular to its longitudinal direction is obstructed by the projection (12). To disassemble the side guide profile (4a, 4b), the profile (14) can deformation free be removed from the projection (12) by translating or pivoting the side guide profile (4a, 4b) in lengtwise direction or around an axis parallel to its longitudinal direction, respectively.

Description

[0001] The invention relates to a mounting arrangement to fix a window cover to a frame. Particularly the arrangement is designed for circumstances that it is desired to fix different window cover types to a frame. Such is e.g. the case with building containers, wherein a number of units are leased for a period of time during which e.g. a building is erected. Depending on the location and position of a unit it can be desirable to provide the frame with a window cover, e.g. a roller blind, a screen or a sun blind. When de building is completed, the unit is typcally leased again or used at another location. Often another window cover type is desired. According to the prior art a window cover is fixed onto the frame by screw attachements. Preliminary drilling in the container is required, which is time consuming and also damages the container. The arrangement according to the invention provides a remedy. The window cover can be fixed to the container without the need for drilling and screwing.

[0002] During transport of a container to a new location the window cover is typically damaged, since it projects outward, Since the removing and re-installing of a window cover by using the new arrangement is very simple, the window cover can be removed prior to transport en re-installed at the new location, thus avoiding damage to the cover.

[0003] Several sides of the frame can now be used to fix the window cover. The design of the section needs no changes. The weight of the window cover is borne by the lower side of the frame. A stable side guide for the window cover and a mechanic force at the closed cover are properly distributed over the frame.

[0004] Now the invention will be further illustrated by the enclosed drawing, showing schematically in:

Fig. 1 in side view a container with frame;

Fig. 2 in section a prior art frame profile;

Fig. 3 in section a possible embodiment of the invented frame profile;

Fig. 4 in section a lower side of the frame plus a lower profile attached thereto;

Fig. 5 in section a side of the frame with a side guiding profile;

Fig. 6 in section a top side of a frame with the window cover that is mounted to the frame.

[0005] Fig. 1 shows schematically in side view a container 1 provided with a frame 2, and for convenience a top box 3 is illustrated above frame 2, to receive a window cover, e.g. a roller blind or a screen or projecting sun blind, known in the field. Typically, top box 3 is screwed to the container above frame 2, such that a number of holes is drilled in the container. If after some time another window cover is desired, different holes usually must be drilled. The same counts for possibly applied side guide profiles 4a, 4b and lower guide profile 5. According to the invention frame 2 is preferably all around provided with a first profile and lower guide profile 5 and side guide profiles 4a, 4b provided with a second profile, such that they simply can be hooked to frame 2 or inserted in the first profile. Subsequently top box 3 can be mounted onto side guide profiles 4a, 4b, possibly by using the first profile at the top side of frame 2. For a light weight window cover, e.g. a screen,, lower guide profile 5 can be absent. The side guide profiles 4a, 4b can then e.g. bear on the lower side of frame 2.

[0006] Fig. 2 showsn schematically in section a prior art frame profile, made of an external part 6a, an internal part 6b and a heat insulating connection 7. The external part 6a is provided with recesses 8a, 8b into which rubber seals can be inserted that provide a seal against a wall 9 and a double glass pane 10, repsectively, while inner part 6b is provided with recesses 11a, 11b into which sealing profiles can be inserted that provide a seal against wall 9 and a double glass pane 10, repsectively. According to the prior art, in wall 9 holes are drilled with which a window cover can be fixed.

[0007] Fig. 3 shows schematically a possible embodiment of a frame profile according to the invention, aso made of an external part 6a, an internal part 6b and a heat insulating part 7 The external part 6a is provided with recesses 8a, 8b wherein rubber seals can be inserted that provide a seal against a wall 9 and a double glass pane 10, respectively, while internal part 6b is provided with recesses 11a, 11b wherein seals can be inserted that provide a seal against a wall 9 and a double glass pane 10, respectively. Novel is that external part 6a is provided with an additional recess 12, shaped such that an in this case substantially Z-shaped profile kan be inserted or hooked therein. By providing the window cover with such Z-profile, a simple attachment can be provided without damaging the wall 9.

[0008] Fig. 4 shows schematically in section a lower side of a frame together with a lower guide profile 5 connected thereto. Lower guide profile is provided with recesses 13a, 13b wherein rubber seals can be inserted that provide a seal against a roller blind or different embodiment of window cover, passing there between. The lower side of the frame is in this example also made of an external part 6a provided with a recess 12 wherein a profile 14, being part of lower guide profile 5, can be inserted. Lower guide profile 5 provides then a support for side guide profiles 6a, 6b, not shown in this figure, and is during mounting the first one to be put in its location, subsequently side guide profiles 6a, 6b and top box 3 are mounted, after which lower guide profile 5, side guide profiles 6a, 6b and top box 3 basically make an integral unit. For other window cover types the lower guide profile 5 can differ in some respects, but the profile thereof is essential.

[0009] Fig. 5 shows schematically in section a side of the frame with a side guide profile 4a. The side of the frame is in the example also made of an external part 6a with a recess 12 wherein a profile 14 of the side guide profile 4a can be inserted. The side guide profile 6a is further provided with recesses 13a, 13b wherein rubber seals can be inserted that provide a seal against a roller blind or different embodiment of window cover, passing there between. For another type of window cover side guide profile 4a can differ somehow, but the profile 14 as part therof is essential. For a light weight window cover, e.g. a screen, lower guide profile 5 can be eliminated. The side guide profiles 4a, 4b can than e.g. bear on the lower side of frame 2.

[0010] Fig. 6 shows schematically in section the top side of a frame with top box 3 connected thereto. Top box 3 contains in this case a roller blind 15, wrapped around a shaft 16 and at its lower side provided with two cams 17a, 17b, of which in this figure only cam 17b is shown, that are inserted in the side guide profiles 4a, 4b and are fixed there with e.g. two srews 18a, 18b. Top box 3 can also contain other window cover types, and will then be embodied differently in detail. Screws 18a, 18b are preferably of such type that a special piece of equipment is required to remove them, such that the mounting arrangement provides also burglar safety.
