(57) The indoor unit of an air conditioner includes a cabinet (10) having a front panel (20) mounted thereon, a picture frame panel (30) having a picture frame base (32) and a picture frame assembly (34) hinged on the picture frame base, the picture frame panel (30) being linked with the front panel for opening/closing the front panel, a holding device (270) slidably mounted on one of the picture frame assembly and the picture frame base for holding the other one, and a supporter (400) mounted on one of the picture frame assembly and the picture frame base for supporting the picture frame assembly so that the picture frame assembly maintains a fixed distance to the picture frame base at the time the picture frame assembly is opened.
