[0001] The invention concerns a grave light casing, intended especially for an grave lights
used for an illumination of graves.
[0002] Commonly used in a large number grave lights create after their use a remarkable
amount of wastes in a form of remaining casings, which independently of the material
they are made of are an undesirable waste and contaminate a natural environment. The
grave light casings, usually made of glass or cheap plastics, e.q. popular polyolefine
or polyvinyl chloride, are characterized by a long term resistance to the natural
environment conditions, they show a very long degradation period, which facts make
them a durable pollutant of the natural environment, occurring in big amounts.
[0003] A problem of troublesomeness of these wastes is solved in many ways, which majority
bases on an appropriate selection of such materials, which disintegrate in a relatively
short time.
[0004] In
EP 0 437 662 B1 a construction of the grave light is disclosed, which has a paraffin candle and a
coloured cup receiving it, having a metal lid comprising at least one opening on the
open-topped side of the cup. A cylindrical casing of the cup consists of a multilayer
laminate, which from the inside to the outside is built of a white cardboard layer,
colour coat, adhesive layer and a polypropylene foil. A bottom joined to the casing
consists of a multilayer laminate, which from the inside to the outside is built of
a polypropylene, aluminium, adhesive, cardboard and polyethylene.
[0005] The use of materials, which regarding their durability create an undesirable waste,
is minimized in the grave light casing known from the prior art. The basic material
of a cylindrical casing is a cardboard, which is an easily degradable material and
does not form a durable waste. However a layer of an adhesive, and particularly a
layer of polypropylene remain, which are resistant and do not decompose in a short
time. A character of chemical bonds in high- and low-density polyethylene and polypropylene
molecules makes them long-term resistant to the atmosphere and natural environment
operation. These materials do not contain a reactive chemical bonds and disintegrate
very hardly.
[0006] From the prior art the grave light casings are known, which.
[0007] A grave light casing according to the invention has a body in a form of a cylinder
made of a rolled sheet of a cardboard covered preferably with a colour paint, which
is covered from the top with a fitted metal cap with at least one opening, and has
a closing from the bottom in a form of a hood with a distant bottom inserted into
the cylindrical casing, which are formed of a thin metal sheet, and an outer surface
of a body is coated with a layer of a synthetic resin containing ester bonds, preferably
which cures in a chemical reaction. A particularly preferable effects are obtained
when the outer surface of a cylinder is coated with a layer of a polyester lacquer
which cures in a chemical reaction, especially a polyester lacquer cured with a UV
radiation, particularly with an acrylic lacquer.
[0008] The grave light casing according to the invention has an esthetic appearance, enables
to obtain a desired lightening effect, is water-resistant and shows a resistant to
injuries.
[0009] Coating of the outer surface with a lacquer according to the invention eliminates
an adhesive layer and a layer of polyolefin foil, e.q. known polypropylene foil, which
decreases the amount of waistes in a natural environment. Polyester lacquer is based
on a polyester resin, containing ester chemical bonds capable for hydrolysis and decomposition
in the conditions of a natural environment much more than polyolefin particles.
[0010] The polyester lacquer curing in a chemical reaction has a very good adhesion to the
cardboard body, partially penetrates it and saturates it and after curing decomposes
together with its cardboard carrier, forming small particles of the products of decomposition.
In a comparison with the grave light casing known from the prior art casings according
to the invention show the faster and more advanced degree of biodegradation in the
same period. The casing according to the invention has ecological properties and it
does not cause a long term lasting contamination of a natural environment. The casings
which remain after the grave lights are used are eliminated in a shorter time than
the known from the prior art.
[0011] The grave light casing according to the invention is presented on the enclosed drawing,
showing its axial cross section.
[0012] A grave light casing according to the invention has a body
1 in a form of a cylinder made of a rolled sheet of a cardboard covered with a colour
paint, which is covered from the top with a fitted metal cap
2 with at least one opening
3, and has a closing from the bottom in a form of a hood with a distant bottom
5 inserted into the cylindrical body
1, which are formed of a thin metal sheet. An outer surface of the body
1 is coated with a layer of acrylic lacquer
6 cured with UV radiation.
1. A grave light casing according to the invention has a body (1) in a form of a cylinder made of a rolled sheet of a cardboard covered at least by
parts with a colour paint, which is covered from the top with a fitted metal cap (2) having at least one opening (3), and has a closing from the bottom in a form of a hood with a distant bottom (5) inserted into the cylindrical body (1), which are formed of a thin metal sheet, characterized in that an outer surface of a body (1) is coated with a layer of a synthetic resin containing ester bonds, preferably which
cures in a chemical reaction.
2. A grave light casing according to claim 1 characterized in that an outer surface of a body (1) is coated with a layer of a polyester, particularly acrylic, lacquer (6), preferably which cures in a chemical reaction initiated by UV radiation.
