OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention refers to a power block with an electrified track of the type
integrated in frames for lighting systems.
[0002] The invention is characterised by a special frame-block construction so that it is
housed in an insulating profile which is appropriately electrified for the power supply
throughout its length.
BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION
[0003] Power blocks for lighting modules should be positioned adequately in accordance with
the points to be illuminated and with a narrow margin of error in this positioning,
subject to any deviation affecting the desired lighting effect.
[0004] The applicant is unaware of the existence of any other means of incorporating the
track and cabling of the power block constructed in such a way that they are able
to absorb longitudinal deviations from the lighting zone, all of which is achieved
with the simplicity and efficacy of the invention described herein.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0005] The present invention refers to a power block with an electrified track of the type
of block which carries a lighting system, defining frames and incorporating in its
interior rails which house the cabling for the lights and other integrated systems,
that is the lighting module, the box with the auxiliary equipment, and the connector
itself.
[0006] This invention consists of a specific arrangement of main parts of the power block
constructed in a conventional manner with extruded metal profile, preferably in aluminium
with quadrangular section with its larger internal face opened centrally, so that
the lighting elements can be housed therein.
[0007] The invention is characterised by the incorporation, at an interior level and supported
by two extensive horizontal projections internally facing each other, of a considerably
elastic track in insulating material and in a profile with a "U" shaped section with
open wings and which presents respective projections on its internal faces, at mid
height and in the form of an irregular arch.
[0008] These track projections face each other and house respectively bare electrical ducts
which emerge from connectors in the larger profiles of the frame, so that the lighting
connector pins or plugs contact by means of a simple turn, with the bare cabling in
any of its positions along the power block to which is attached, through conventional
means, the lighting module and the auxiliary equipment box.
[0009] The arrangement of these connectors in the proximity of the four points of the frame
enable electrical connections to both longitudinal tracks of same, thus facilitating
the power supply to the lighting.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0010] The present descriptive report is supplemented by a series of drawings illustrative
of a preferred embodiment but not however restricting the invention in any way.
Figure 1 is a transversal section of the main part of the power block with the track
and the electrical ducts incorporated and in contact with the connector pins.
Figure 2 shows an upper perspective of the power block which is the subject of the
invention, with the lighting module and its auxiliary equipment box incorporated as
well as the their connector and also the dual connections either of which may be coupled
to short profiles of the track.
Figure 3 shows the back part of the connector with the pins connecting to the electrical
conduct.
PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0011] In view of the foregoing, the present invention refers to a power block with an electrified
track of the type of block used for lighting systems constructed in an extruded metal
profile, essentially characterised by the incorporation, in the internal side (1.1)
of the main part of the power block (1) which defines the two larger sides of the
frame and on two extensive horizontal projections (1.2) facing internally, of a track
(2) in insulating material and in a "U" shape with open wings (2.1) with respective
projections (2.2) facing opposing their respective wings (2.1), arranged at mid height
and in the form of an irregular arch, with the free end (2-3) radially sectioned.
[0012] The projections (2.2) house the respective electrical ducts (3) which are bare so
that by a simple turn of the connector (4) pins or plugs (3), these contact with the
cabling (3) in any position of the longitudinal displacement of the module (5) carrying
the lighting on the main part of the power block (1), and to which it is attached
by conventional means and which is supplied electrically through the box for the auxiliary
equipment (6).
[0013] The connectors (7) are located in the proximity of the ends of the main parts of
the power block (1) which define the two larger sides of the frame making the electrical
connection to either of the bare electrical conducts (3) which run through one or
the other of both tracks (2) inserted in the longitudinal parts (1) of the frame,
thus facilitating, in an alternative manner, supply to the module (5) carrying the
lighting, which facilitates the installation of this lighting element in any arrangement
thereof with respect to the power supply.
[0014] The essential nature of this invention is not altered by variations in materials,
form, shape and arrangement of the component elements which are described in a manner
which is in no way restrictive but which is sufficient to proceed to its reproduction
by an expert.
1. Power block with electrified track, of the type of power blocks for lighting systems
constructed in an extruded metal profile essentially characterised in that it is provided with the main power block (1) parts (2) which define the two larger
sides of the frame, thus making the electric supply to either of the bare electric
conducts (3) which connect with the module (5) which carries the lighting and which
run, alternatively, through one or the other of respective tracks (2) inserted in
these parts (1) by means of connection pins (7) which are located in the proximity
of the ends thereof.
2. Power block with electrified track according to the previous claim, characterised in that the track (2) incorporated in the main part of the power block (1) is made from insulating
material and in the shape of a "U" with open wings (2.1)with respective projections
(2.2) facing opposite their respective wings (2.1) which house the electrical ducts
(3) which are bare, so that by a simple turn of the connector (4) pins or plugs (4),
these contact with the cabling (3) in any position of the longitudinal displacement
of the module (5) carrying the lighting on the frame of the power block, and to which
it is attached by conventional means and which is supplied electrically through the
box for the auxiliary equipment (6) .
3. Power block with electrified track, according to previous claims, characterised in that the track (2) is incorporated in the main part of the power block (1) through the
internal side (1.1) thereof and supported on two extensive horizontal projections
(1.2) facing internally
4. Power block with electrified track according to the previous claims, characterised in that the projections (2.2) of the open wings (2.1) of the track (2) are arranged at mid
height and in the form of an irregular arch, with the free end (2.3) radially sectioned.
