RIGID HINGED-LID PACKAGE FOR TOBACCO ARTICLES

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a rigid, hinged-lid package for tobacco articles.

[0002] The present invention may be used to particular advantage in a rigid cigarette packet, to which the following description refers purely by way of example.

BACKGROUND ART

[0003] Rigid, hinged-lid cigarette packets are currently the most widely marketed, by being easy to produce, practical and easy to use, and by effectively protecting the cigarettes inside.

[0004] A rigid, hinged-lid cigarette packet comprises a cup-shaped container having an open end; and a cup-shaped lid hinged to the container along a hinge to rotate, with respect to the container, between an open and a closed position opening and closing the open end respectively. A U-folded collar is normally fitted inside the container, and projects partly outwards of the open end to engage a corresponding inner surface of the lid when the lid is in the closed position.

[0005] The outer surface of packets of cigarettes is printed with the brand name and information required by law (e.g. place and date of manufacture, tobacco composition, and government health warnings). Recent regulations have greatly increased the surface area to be allotted to government health warnings, by also introducing photographs, thus greatly reducing the area available to the maker for the brand name and any other information (special offers, advertising of other products ...).

[0006] Patent US6193060B1 describes a rigid cigarette packet comprising a cup-shaped, substantially parallelepiped-shaped container having a rear wall, a front wall, two lateral walls, a bottom wall, and an open top end; and a cup-shaped lid hinged to the container along a hinge on the rear wall of the container to rotate between an open and a closed position opening and closing the open end respectively, and having a rear wall, a front wall, two lateral walls, a top wall, and a bottom wall. When the lid is in the closed position, the front wall of the lid is positioned over, and completely covers, the front wall of the container, the lateral walls of the lid are positioned over, and partly cover, the lateral walls of the container, and the bottom wall of the lid is positioned over, and partly covers, the bottom wall of the container.

[0007] Having a larger lid, the packet described in Patent US6193060B1 has a larger outer surface for printing on than a normal hinged-lid packet, but also has various drawbacks: in particular, it is difficult to produce, and is awkward to open and close, on account of the bottom wall of the lid having to overcome the bottom edge of the front wall of the container when rotating the lid. Moreover, being so large, the lid is not very rigid, and tends to deform when opened and closed, thus masking the packet difficult to open and close, and resulting in the formation of unsightly creases.

[0008] WO2004065235A1 discloses a hinged-lid cigarette pack according to the preamble of claim 1, comprising a case divided into a box and an openable lid and an inner frame stored in the case; the case further comprising a transverse cutting line formed on the front wall thereof, oblique cutting lines formed on the right and left side walls thereof, and self hinges formed on the rear wall thereof.

DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION

[0009] It is an object of the present invention to provide a rigid package for tobacco articles, which is easier to use than known packages, has none of the aforementioned drawbacks, and, at the same time, is cheap and easy to produce.

[0010] According to the present invention, there is provided a rigid package for tobacco articles, as claimed in the accompanying Claims.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION

[0012] Number 1 in Figures 1 to 3 indicates as a whole a rigid cigarette packet containing an orderly, parallelepiped-shaped group of cigarettes (not shown for the sake of clarity) wrapped in a sheet of foil wrapping material.

[0013] Packet 1 comprises a cup-shaped container 2 having an open top end 3; and a cup-shaped lid 4 hinged to container 2 along a hinge 5 to rotate, with respect to container 2, between an open position (Figure 2) and a closed position (Figures 1 and 3) opening and closing open end 3 respectively.

[0014] Container 2 is cup-shaped to house the orderly group of cigarettes (not shown for the sake of clarity), is parallelepiped-shaped, and comprises a rear wall 6, a front wall 7, two lateral walls 8, a bottom wall 9, and said open top end 3. Lid 4 is cup-shaped, is hinged to container 2 along hinge 5 on rear wall 6 of container 2, and comprises a rear wall 10, a front wall 11, two lateral walls 12, and a top wall 13.

[0015] When lid 4 is in the closed position (Figures 1 and 3), front wall 11 of lid 4 is positioned over, and completely covers, front wall 7 of container 2, and lateral walls 12 of lid 4 are positioned over, and partly cover, lateral walls 8 of container 2. Lid 4 has no bottom wall, so that, when lid 4 is in the closed position, the bottom wall of container 2 is completely exposed.

In a further embodiment, not shown, hinge 5 is located between rear wall 6 of container 2 and rear wall 10 of lid 4, and is parallel to longitudinal edges 14 and 16 of container 2 and lid 4.

[0020] Longitudinal edges 16 of lid 4 are normally the same shape and substantially the same size as longitudinal edges 14 of container 2, so that, when in the closed position, lid 4 adheres firmly to container 2 underneath.

Alternatively, some longitudinal edges 14 and 16 and some transverse edges 15 and 17 may be non-square, rounded or bevelled edges, so as to have both non-square, rounded or bevelled longitudinal edges 14, 16 and non-square, rounded or bevelled transverse edges 15, 17.

[0023] In a different embodiment not shown, packet 1 may resemble the cigarette packet described in Patent Application EP-A1-1066205; in which case, rear wall 6 of container 2, front wall 7 of container 2, rear wall 10 of lid 4, and front wall 11 of lid 4 are all outwardly convex, and each have a respective flat central portion, and two curved creased lateral bands connecting the flat central portion to lateral walls 8 or 12 at respective sharp, non-square longitudinal edges 14 or 16.

The purpose of projections 18 is to keep lid 4 in the closed position by requiring application of a certain amount of force to open lid 4.

[0025] In a different embodiment shown in Figure 8, a U-folded collar 19 is fitted inside container 2, and projects partly outwards of open top end 3 to engage a corresponding inner surface of lid 4 when lid 4 is in the closed position. Collar 19 comprises two projections 20, which project outwards to engage lid 4 with a given interference when lid 4 is in the closed position. The purpose of projections 20 is to keep lid 4 in the closed position by requiring application of a certain amount of force to open lid 4.

More specifically, in Figure 18, tabs 12" of panel 11' are smaller than in Figures 5 and 6, whereas, in variations not shown, tabs 12" of panel 11' are the same shape and size as tabs 12" in Figures 5 and 6.

[0033] The Figure 10-17 embodiments comprise a number of containers 2, each of which is cup-shaped to house a group of tobacco articles, and has a respective open top end 3; lid 4 is hinged to one of containers 2 to rotate between the open position and the closed position respectively opening and closing the open ends 3 of all the containers 2. Containers 2 are connected to one another so as to be movable between a fold-up configuration (Figures 10, 11, 15, 16), in which containers 2 are arranged contacting one another and side by side along front wall 7 and rear wall 6, and an unfolded configuration (Figures 12 and 17), in which containers 2 are arranged side by side along lateral walls 8. As shown clearly in Figures 11 and 16, lid 4 can only be moved from the open position to the closed position respectively opening and closing open ends 3 of all of containers 2 when containers 2 are in the fold-up configuration.

[0041] Packet 1 as described above has several advantages. It is fast and easy to produce, has a larger outer surface for printing on than a normal hinged-lid packet, and is extremely easy to open and close. Moreover, forming front wall 11 of lid 4 by joining two superimposed panels 11' and 11", and lateral walls 12 of lid 4 by joining two superimposed tabs 12' and 12", makes for an extremely rigid lid 4 despite its size, so that lid 4 undergoes no noticeable deformation when opened and closed.

[0042] In view of the many advantages of packet 1 as described above, the form of packet 1 may also be applied integrally to the manufacture of other types of rigid packages for tobacco articles, such as a carton of packets of cigarettes or a cigar packet.

Claims

1. A rigid package for tobacco articles, comprising:

at least one container (2), which is cup-shaped to house a group of tobacco articles, is parallelepiped-shaped, and comprises a rear wall (6), a front wall (7), two lateral walls (8), a bottom wall (9), and an open top end (3); and

a lid (4), which is cup-shaped, is hinged to the container (2) along a hinge (5) on the rear wall (6) of the container (2) to rotate between an open position and a closed position respectively opening and closing the open top end (3), and comprises a rear wall (10), a front wall (11), two lateral walls (12), and a top wall (13);

wherein when the lid (4) is in the closed position, the front wall (11) of the lid (4) is positioned over the front wall (7) of the container (2) to completely or almost completely cover the front wall (7) of the container (2), and the lateral walls (12) of the lid (4) are positioned over the lateral walls (8) of the container (2) to partly cover the lateral walls (8) of the container (2);
and wherein the lid (4) has no bottom wall, so that, when the lid (4) is in the closed position, the bottom wall (9) of the container (2) is completely exposed;
the package (1) being characterized in that the front wall (11) of the lid (4) is defined by a first panel (11') and a second panel (11"), which are superimposed, are joined to each other, and respectively define an outer surface and an inner surface of the front wall (11) of the lid (4).

2. A package as claimed in Claim 1, wherein, when the lid (4) is in the closed position, the front wall (11) of the lid (4) is positioned over the front wall (7) of the container (2) to completely cover the front wall (7) of the container (2).

3. A package as claimed in Claim 1, wherein, when the lid (4) is in the closed position, the front wall (11) of the lid (4) is positioned over the front wall (7) of the container (2) to almost completely cover the front wall (7) of the container (2).

4. A package as claimed in Claim 1, 2 or 3, wherein the first panel (11') and the second panel (11") of the front wall (11) of the lid (4) are glued to each other.

5. A package as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 4, wherein each lateral wall (12) of the lid (4) is defined by two tabs (12', 12"), which are superimposed, are glued to each other, are substantially the same size, and respectively define an outer surface and an inner surface of the lateral wall (12) of the lid (4).

6. A package as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 5,
wherein the lateral walls (12) of the lid (4) are shorter than the front wall (11) of the lid (4), so as to leave a bottom portion of the front wall (11) of the lid (4) laterally free.

7. A package as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 6, wherein the container (2) has four longitudinal edges (14) defined between the lateral walls (8) and the front wall (7) and rear wall (6); and four transverse edges (15) defined between the bottom wall (9) and the lateral walls (8), the front wall (7), and the rear wall (6); and the lid (4) has four longitudinal edges (16) defined between the lateral walls (12) and the front wall (11) and rear wall (10); and four transverse edges (17) defined between the top wall (13) and the lateral walls (12), the front wall (11), and the rear wall (10).

8. A package as claimed in Claim 7, wherein the hinge (5) of the lid (4) slopes with respect to the transverse edges (15) of the container (2) and the transverse edges (17) of the lid (4).

9. A package as claimed in Claim 7 or 8, wherein the longitudinal edges (16) of the lid (4) are the same shape and substantially the same size as the longitudinal edges (14) of the container (2).

10. A package as claimed in Claim 9, wherein at least some of the longitudinal edges (14) of the container (2) and the corresponding longitudinal edges (16) of the lid (4) are rounded or bevelled.

11. A package as claimed in Claim 9, wherein at least some of the transverse edges (15) of the container (2) or of the transverse edges (17) of the lid (4) are rounded or bevelled.

12. A package as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 11, wherein the container (2) comprises two projections (18) which project outwards to engage the lid (4) with a given amount of interference when the lid (4) is in the closed position.

13. A package as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 11, wherein a collar (19) is fitted, folded into a U, to the inside of the container (2), and projects partly outwards of the open top end (3) to engage a corresponding inner surface of the lid (4) when the lid (4) is in the closed position.

14. A package as claimed in Claim 13, wherein the collar (19) comprises two projections (20), which project outwards to engage the lid (4) with a given amount of interference when the lid (4) is in the closed position.

15. A package as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 14, wherein the container (2) and the lid (4) are formed from a flat blank (21) having two longitudinal fold lines (22), and a number of transverse fold lines (23) defining between the longitudinal fold lines (22) :

a first panel (11') forming an inner portion of the front wall (11) of the lid (4);

a second panel (11") forming an outer portion of the front wall (11) of the lid (4);

a third panel (13') forming the top wall (13) of the lid (4);

a fourth panel (10') forming the rear wall (10) of the lid (4);

a fifth panel (6') forming the rear wall (6) of the container (2);

a sixth panel (9') forming the bottom wall (9) of the container (2); and

a seventh panel (7') forming the front wall (7) of the container (2);

the second panel (11") has two first tabs (12') which form the lateral walls (12) of the lid (4), are located on opposite sides of the second panel (11"), and are separated from the second panel (11") by the longitudinal fold lines (22);

the fifth panel (6') has two second tabs (8'), which form part of the lateral walls (8) of the container (2), are located on opposite sides of the fifth panel (6'), and are separated from the fifth panel (6') by the longitudinal fold lines (22);

the seventh panel (7') has two third tabs (8"), which form part of the lateral walls (8) of the container (2), are located on opposite sides of the seventh panel (7'), and are separated from the seventh panel (7') by the longitudinal fold lines (22).

16. A package as claimed in Claim 15, wherein the fourth panel (10') has fourth tabs (24), which reinforce the inside of the lateral walls (12) of the lid (4), are located on opposite sides of the fourth panel (10'), and are separated from the fourth panel (10') by the longitudinal fold lines (22); and each fourth tab (24) has a first tongue (25) for reinforcing the inside of the top wall (13) of the lid (4).

17. A package as claimed in Claim 15 or 16, wherein each second tab (8') has a second tongue (26) for reinforcing the inside of the bottom wall (9) of the container (2).

18. A package as claimed in Claim 15, 16 or 17,
wherein each first tab (12') is connected to a fifth tab (12"): each first tab (12') and the corresponding fifth tab (12") are superimposed and glued to each other, and respectively define an outer surface and an inner surface of a lateral wall (12) of the lid (4).

19. A package as claimed in Claim 18, wherein each fifth tab (12") is substantially the same shape as and slightly smaller than the corresponding first tab (12').

20. A package as claimed in Claim 18 or 19, wherein each first tab (12') is connected to the corresponding fifth tab (12") along a fold line (27) parallel to the longitudinal fold lines (22).

21. A package as claimed in Claim 18 or 19, wherein each first tab (12') is connected to the corresponding fifth tab (12") along a fold line (27) sloping with respect to the longitudinal fold lines (22).

22. A package as claimed in Claim 15, 16 or 17,
wherein the first panel (11') has two fifth tabs (12"), which form part of the lateral walls (12) of the lid (4), are located on opposite sides of the first panel (11'), and are separated from the first panel (11') by the longitudinal fold lines (22); and a first tab (12') and a corresponding fifth tab (12") are superimposed and glued to each other to respectively define an outer surface and an inner surface of a lateral wall (12) of the lid (4).

23. A package as claimed in any one of Claims 1 to 12, and comprising a number of containers (2), each of which is cup-shaped to house a group of tobacco articles, and has a respective open top end (3); the lid (4) is hinged to one of the containers (2) to rotate between the open position and the closed position respectively opening and closing the open top ends (3) of all the containers (2).

24. A package as claimed in Claim 23, wherein the containers (2) are connected to one another so as to be movable between a fold-up configuration, in which the containers (2) are arranged contacting one another and side by side along the front wall (7) and the rear wall (6), and an unfolded configuration, in which the containers (2) are arranged side by side along the lateral walls (8); and the lid (4) can only be moved from the open position to the closed position respectively opening and closing the open top ends (3) of all the containers (2) when the containers (2) are in the fold-up configuration.

25. A package as claimed in Claim 24, and comprising two containers (2) hinged to each other along respective longitudinal edges (14).

26. A package as claimed in Claim 25, wherein the containers (2) are hinged to each other by a double hinge (28).

27. A package as claimed in Claim 24, and comprising three containers (2) hinged to one another in pairs along respective longitudinal edges (14).

28. A package as claimed in Claim 27, wherein the containers (2) are hinged to one another by two double hinges (28).

29. A package as claimed in any one of Claims 23 to 28, and comprising a supporting member (29) having the common lid (4), and to which the containers (2) are glued.

30. A package as claimed in Claim 29, wherein the supporting member (29) comprises a connecting strip (30) supporting the lid (4) and which is glued to the front wall (7) or rear wall (6) of the containers (2) and to the lateral walls (8) of the containers (2).

31. A package as claimed in Claim 30, wherein the supporting member (29) is formed from a flat first blank (31), and each container (2) is formed from a flat second blank (38) independent of the first blank (31); the first blank (31) has two longitudinal fold lines (32), and a number of transverse fold lines (33) defining between the longitudinal fold lines (32):

a first panel (11') forming an inner portion of the front wall (11) of the lid (4);

a second panel (11") forming an outer portion of the front wall (11) of the lid (4);

a third panel (13') forming the top wall (13) of the lid (4);

a fourth panel (10') forming the rear wall (10) of the lid (4); and

a fifth panel (34), of the connecting strip (30), which is glued to the rear wall (6) of a container (2).

32. A package as claimed in Claim 31, and comprising two containers (2); the fifth panel (34) is connected to a sixth panel (35), which has a double hinge (28) in the middle and is glued to a lateral wall (8) of both the containers (2); and the sixth panel (35) of the connecting strip (30) is connected to a seventh panel (36), which is glued to the front wall (7) of a container (2).

33. A package as claimed in Claim 31, and comprising three containers (2); the fifth panel (34) is connected to a sixth panel (35), which has a double hinge (28) in the middle and is glued to a lateral wall (8) of two containers (2); the sixth panel (35) of the connecting strip (30) is connected to a seventh panel (36), which is glued to the front wall (7) of a container (2); the seventh panel (36) of the connecting strip (30) is connected to an eighth panel (37), which has a double hinge (28) in the middle and is glued to a lateral wall (8) of two containers (2); and the eighth panel (37) of the connecting strip (30) is connected to a ninth panel, which is glued to the rear wall (6) of a container (2).

34. A package as claimed in Claim 31, 32 or 33, wherein the second panel (11") has two first tabs (12'), which form the lateral walls (12) of the lid (4), are located on opposite sides of the second panel (11"), and are separated from the second panel (11") by the longitudinal fold lines (22).

35. A package as claimed in Claim 34, wherein each first tab (12') is connected to a second tab (12"); each first tab (12') and the corresponding second tab (12") are superimposed and glued to each other, and respectively define an outer surface and an inner surface of a lateral wall (12) of the lid (4).

36. A package as claimed in Claim 35, wherein each second tab (12") is substantially the same shape as and slightly smaller than the corresponding first tab (12').

37. A package as claimed in Claim 35 or 36, wherein each first tab (12') is connected to the corresponding second tab (12") along a fold line (27) parallel to the longitudinal fold lines (22).

38. A package as claimed in Claim 35 or 36, wherein each first tab (12') is connected to the corresponding second tab (12") along a fold line (27) sloping with respect to the longitudinal fold lines (22).

Ansprüche

1. Starre Verpackung für Tabakartikel, umfassend:

zumindest einen Behälter (2), der topfförmig ist, um eine Gruppe von Tabakartikeln aufzunehmen, der quaderförmig ist, und eine Rückwand (6), eine Vorderwand (7), zwei Seitenwände (8), eine Bodenwand (9) und ein offenes Kopfende (3) umfasst; und

einen topfförmigen Deckel (4), der schwenkbar an dem Behälter (2) entlang eines Scharniers (5) an der Rückwand (6) des Behälters (2) angebracht ist, um sich zwischen einer offenen Lage und einer geschlossenen Lage bzw. dem Öffnen und dem Schließen des offenen Kopfendes (3) zu drehen, und der eine Rückwand (10), eine Vorderwand (11), zwei Seitenwände (12) und eine Oberwand (13) umfasst;

wobei, wenn der Deckel (4) in der geschlossenen Lage ist, ist die Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) über die Vorderwand (7) des Behälters (2) angeordnet, um die Vorderwand (7) des Behälters (2) vollständig oder fast vollständig zu bedecken, und die Seitenwände (12) des Deckels (4) über die Seitenwände (8) des Behälters (2) so angeordnet sind, um die Seitenwände (8) des Behälters (2) teilweise zu bedecken;
und wobei der Deckel (4) keine Bodenwand aufweist, so dass, wenn der Deckel (4) in der geschlossenen Lage ist, ist die Bodenwand (9) des Behälters (2) vollständig exponiert;
wobei die Verpackung (1) dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass die Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) durch ein erstes Feld (11') und ein zweites Feld (11 ") definiert ist, die aufeinander gelegt und miteinander verbunden sind, und jeweils eine Außenfläche und eine Innenfläche der Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) definieren.

2. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass, wenn der Deckel (4) in der geschlossenen Lage ist, ist die Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) über die Vorderwand (7) des Behälters (2) angeordnet, um die Vorderwand (7) des Behälters (2) vollständig zu bedecken.

3. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass, wenn der Deckel (4) in der geschlossenen Lage ist, ist die Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) über die Vorderwand (7) des Behälters (2) angeordnet, um die Vorderwand (7) des Behälters (2) fast vollständig zu bedecken.

4. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 1, 2 oder 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das erste Feld (11') und das zweite Feld (11") der Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) miteinander verklebt sind.

5. Verpackung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede Seitenwand (12) des Deckels (4) durch zwei Laschen (12', 12") definiert ist, die aufeinander und miteinander verklebt sind, wobei sie im Wesentlichen derselben Größe sind und jeweils eine Außenfläche und eine Innenfläche der Seitenwand (12) des Deckels (4) definieren.

6. Verpackung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Seitenwände (12) des Deckels (4) kürzer als die Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) sind, um so einen Unterteil der Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) seitlich frei zu lassen.

7. Verpackung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Behälter (2) vier Längskanten (14) umfasst, die zwischen den Seitenwänden (8) und der Vorderwand (7) und der Rückwand (6) definiert sind; und vier Querkanten (15) umfasst, die zwischen der Bodenwand (9) und den Seitenwänden (8), der Vorderwand (7) und der Rückwand (6) definiert sind; und der Deckel (4) vier Längskanten (16) umfasst, die zwischen den Seitenwänden (12) und der Vorderwand (11) und der Rückwand (10) definiert sind; und vier Querkanten (17) umfasst, die zwischen der Oberwand (13) und den Seitenwänden (12), der Vorderwand (11) und der Rückwand (10) definiert sind.

8. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Scharnier (5) des Deckels (4) bezüglich der Querkanten (15) des Behälters (2) und der Querkanten (17) des Deckels (4) geneigt ist.

9. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 7 oder 8, d dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Längskanten (16) des Deckels (4) dergleichen Form und im Wesentlichen derselben Größe wie die Längskanten (14) des Behälters (2) sind.

10. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest einige der Längskanten (14) des Behälters (2) und die entsprechenden Längskanten (16) des Deckels (4) abgerundet oder abgeschrägt sind.

11. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest einige der Querkanten (15) des Behälters (2) oder der Querkanten (17) des Deckels (4) abgerundet oder abgeschrägt sind.

12. Verpackung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Behälter (2) zwei Vorsprünge (18) umfasst, die nach außen herausragen, um mit dem Deckel (4) bei einer bestimmten Eingriffshöhe zusammenzuwirken, wenn der Deckel (4) in der geschlossenen Lage ist.

13. Verpackung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass ein Kragen (19) eingepasst in ein U zu der Innenseite des Behälters (2) gefaltet ist, und teilweise nach außen von dem offenen Kopfende (3) herausragt, um mit einer entsprechenden Innenfläche des Deckels (4) zusammenzuwirken, wenn der Deckel (4) in der geschlossenen Lage ist.

14. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 13, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Kragen (19) zwei Vorsprünge (20) aufweist, die nach außen herausragen, um mit dem Deckel (4) bei einer bestimmten Eingriffshöhe zusammenzuwirken, wenn der Deckel (4) in der geschlossenen Lage ist.

15. Verpackung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 14, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Behälter (2) und der Deckel (4) aus einem flachen Zuschnitt (21) geformt sind, welcher zwei Längsfaltlinien (22) und eine Anzahl von Querfaltlinien (23), die zwischen den Längsfaltlinien (22) definiert sind, umfasst, wobei:

ein erstes Feld (11') ein Innenteil der Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) bildet;

ein zweites Feld (11 ") ein Außenteil der Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) bildet;

ein drittes Feld (13') die Oberwand (13) des Deckels (4) bildet;

ein viertes Feld (10') die Rückwand (10) des Deckels (4) bildet;

ein fünftes Feld (6') die Rückwand (6) des Behälters (2) bildet;

ein sechstes Feld (9') die Bodenwand (9) des Behälters (2) bildet; und

ein siebtes Feld (7') die Vorderwand (7) des Behälters (2) bildet;

das zweite Feld (11 ") zwei erste Laschen (12') umfasst, die die Seitenwände (12) des Deckels (4) bilden, wobei sie auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten des zweiten Felds (11 ") angeordnet, und von dem zweiten Feld (11 ") durch die Längsfaltlinien (22) getrennt sind;

das fünfte Feld (6') zwei zweite Laschen (8') umfasst, die einen Teil der Seitenwände (8) des Behälters (2) bilden, wobei sie auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten des fünften Felds (6') angeordnet und von dem fünften Feld (6') durch die Längsfaltlinien (22) getrennt sind;

das siebte Feld (7') zwei dritte Laschen (8") umfasst, die einen Teil der Seitenwände (8) des Behälters (2) bilden, wobei sie auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten des siebten Felds (7') angeordnet, und von dem siebten Feld (7') durch die Längsfaltlinien (22) getrennt sind.

16. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 15, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das vierte Feld (10') vierte Laschen (24) umfasst, die die Innenseite der Seitenwände (12) des Deckels (4) verstärken, wobei sie auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten des vierten Felds (10') angeordnet, und von dem vierten Feld (10') durch die Längsfaltlinien (22) getrennt sind; und jede vierte Lasche (24) eine erste Zunge (25) zur Verstärkung der Innenseite der Oberwand (13) des Deckels (4) umfasst.

17. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 15 oder 16, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede zweite Lasche (8') eine zweite Zunge (26) zur Verstärkung der Innenseite der Bodenwand (9) des Behälters (2) umfasst.

18. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 15, 16 oder 17, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede erste Lasche (12') mit einer fünften Lasche (12") verbunden ist; wobei jede erste Lasche (12') und die entsprechende fünfte Lasche (12") aufeinander gelegt und miteinander verklebt sind, und jeweils eine Außenfläche und eine Innenfläche einer Seitenwand (12) des Deckels (4) definieren.

19. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 18, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede fünfte Lasche (12") im Wesentlichen dergleichen Form wie und etwas kleiner als die entsprechende erste Lasche (12') ist.

20. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 18 oder 19, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede erste Lasche (12') mit der entsprechenden fünften Lasche (12") entlang einer Faltlinie (27) parallel zu den Längsfaltlinien (22) verbunden ist.

21. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 18 oder 19, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede erste Lasche (12') mit der entsprechenden fünften Lasche (12") entlang einer Faltlinie (27) geneigt in Bezug auf die Längsfaltlinien (22) verbunden ist.

22. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 15, 16 oder 17, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das erste Feld (11') zwei fünfte Laschen (12") umfasst, die einen Teil der Seitenwände (12) des Deckels (4) bilden, wobei sie auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten des ersten Felds (11') angeordnet, und von dem ersten Feld (11') durch die Längsfaltlinien (22) getrennt sind; und eine erste Lasche (12') und eine entsprechende fünfte Lasche (12") aufeinander gelegt und miteinander verklebt sind, um jeweils eine Außenfläche und eine Innenfläche einer Seitenwand (12) des Deckels (4) zu definieren.

23. Verpackung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 12 und umfassend eine Anzahl von Behältern (2), von denen jeder topfförmig ist, um eine Gruppe von Tabakartikeln aufzunehmen, und jeder ein entsprechendes offenes Kopfende (3) umfasst; wobei der Deckel (4) schwenkbar an einem der Behälter (2) angebracht ist, um sich zwischen der offenen Lage und der geschlossenen Lage bzw. dem Öffnen und dem Schließen des offenen Kopfendes (3) von allen den Behältern (2) zu drehen.

24. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 23, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Behälter (2) miteinander so verbunden sind, um bewegbar zu sein zwischen einer gefalteten Anordnung, in der die Behälter (2) in Kontakt miteinander und Seite an Seite entlang der Vorderwand (7) und der Rückwand (6) angeordnet sind, und einer entfalteten Anordnung, in der die Behälter (2) Seite an Seite entlang der Seitenwände (8) angeordnet sind; und der Deckel (4) nur von der offenen Lage bis zur geschlossenen Lage bzw. dem Öffnen und Schließen des offenen Kopfendes (3) von allen den Behältern (2) bewegt werden kann, wenn die Behälter (2) in der gefalteten Anordnung sind.

25. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 24, und umfassend zwei Behälter (2), die schwenkbar zueinander entlang entsprechenden Längskanten (14) angebracht sind.

26. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 25, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Behälter (2) schwenkbar zueinander durch ein Doppelscharnier (28) angebracht sind.

27. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 24, und umfassend drei Behälter (2), die schwenkbar zueinander in Paaren entlang entsprechenden Längskanten (14) angebracht sind.

28. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 27, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Behälter (2) schwenkbar zueinander durch zwei Doppelscharniere (28) angebracht sind.

29. Verpackung gemäß einem der Ansprüche 23 bis 28, und umfassend ein Tragglied (29) mit einer einfachen Klappe (4), und an welches die Behälter (2) geklebt sind.

30. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 29, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Tragglied (29) eine Verbindungsleiste (30) umfasst, die den Deckel (4) stützt und die an die Vorderwand (7) oder die Rückwand (6) der Behälter (2) und an die Seitenwände (8) der Behälter (2) geklebt ist.

31. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 30, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Trageglied (29) aus einem flachen ersten Zuschnitt (31) geformt ist, und jeder Behälter (2) aus einem flachen zweiten Zuschnitt (38) unabhängig von dem ersten Zuschnitt (31) geformt ist; wobei der erste Zuschnitt (31) zwei Längsfaltlinien (32), und eine Anzahl von Querfaltlinien (33), die zwischen den Längsfaltlinien (32) definiert sind, umfasst:
wobei

ein erstes Feld (11') ein Innenteil der Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) bildet;

ein zweites Feld (11 ") ein Außenteil der Vorderwand (11) des Deckels (4) bildet;

ein drittes Feld (13') die obere Wand (13) des Deckels (4) bildet;

ein viertes Feld (10') die Rückwand (10) des Deckels (4) bildet; und

ein fünftes Feld (34) von der Verbindungsleiste (30), das an die Rückwand (6) eines Behälters (2) geklebt ist.

32. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 31, und umfassend zwei Behälter (2); wobei das fünfte Feld (34) mit einem sechsten Feld (35) verbunden ist, das ein Doppelscharnier (28) in der Mitte umfasst und an eine Seitenwand (8) von den beiden Behälter (2) geklebt ist; und das sechste Feld (35) von der Verbindungsleiste (30) mit einem siebten Feld (36) verbunden ist, das an die Vorderwand (7) eines Behälters (2) geklebt ist.

33. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 31, und umfassend drei Behälter (2); wobei das fünfte Feld (34) mit einem sechsten Feld (35) verbunden ist, das ein Doppelscharnier (28) in der Mitte umfasst und an eine Seitenwand (8) von zwei Behältern (2) geklebt ist; wobei das sechste Feld (35) von der Verbindungsleiste (30) mit einem siebten Feld (36) verbunden ist, das an die Vorderwand (7) eines Behälters (2) geklebt ist; wobei das siebte Feld (36) von der Verbindungsleiste (30) mit einem achten Feld (37) verbunden ist, das ein Doppelscharnier (28) in der Mitte umfasst und an eine Seitenwand (8) von zwei Behältern (2) geklebt ist; und das achte Feld (37) von der Verbindungsleiste (30) mit einem neunten Feld verbunden ist, das an die Rückwand (6) eines Behälters (2) geklebt ist.

34. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 31, 32 oder 33, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das zweite Feld (11") zwei erste Laschen (12') umfasst, die die Seitenwände (12) des Deckels (4) bilden, wobei sie auf gegenüberliegenden Seiten des zweiten Felds (11 ") angeordnet und von dem zweiten Feld (11 ") durch die Längsfaltlinien (22) getrennt sind.

35. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 34, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede erste Lasche (12') mit einer zweiten Lasche (12") verbunden ist; wobei jede erste Lasche (12') und die entsprechende zweite Lasche (12") aufeinander gelegt und miteinander verklebt sind, und jeweils eine Außenfläche und eine Innenfläche einer Seitenwand (12) des Deckels (4) definieren.

36. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 35, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede zweite Lasche (12") im Wesentlichen dergleichen Form wie und etwas kleiner als die entsprechende erste Lasche (12') ist.

37. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 35 oder 36, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jeder erste Lasche (12') mit der entsprechenden zweiten Lasche (12") entlang einer Faltlinie (27) parallel zu den Längsfaltlinien (22) verbunden ist.

38. Verpackung gemäß Anspruch 35 oder 36, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jede erste Lasche (12') mit der entsprechenden zweiten Lasche (12") entlang einer Faltlinie (27) geneigt im Bezug auf die Längsfaltlinien (22) verbunden ist.

Revendications

1. Emballage rigide pour articles de tabac, comprenant:

au moins un contenant (2) de forme parallélépipédique, qui est en forme de paquet afin de recevoir un groupe d'articles de tabac, et un comprend une paroi arrière (6), une paroi avant (7), deux parois latérales (8), une paroi inférieure (9), et une extrémité haute ouverte (3); et

un couvercle (4), qui est en forme de paquet, est articulé au contenant (2) le long d'une charnière (5) sur la paroi arrière (6) du contenant (2) afin de pivoter entre une position ouverte et une position fermée ouvrant et fermant, respectivement, l'extrémité haute ouverte (3), et comprend une paroi arrière (10), une paroi avant (11), deux parois latérales (12), et une paroi supérieure (13);

dans lequel lorsque le couvercle (4) se trouve dans la position fermée, la paroi avant (11) du couvercle (4) est positionnée sur la paroi avant (7) du contenant (2) afin de recouvrir complètement ou presque complètement la paroi avant (7) du contenant (2), et les parois latérales (12) du couvercle (4) sont positionnées sur les parois latérales (8) du contenant (2) afin de recouvrir partiellement les parois latérales (8) du contenant (2);
et dans lequel le couvercle (4) n'a pas de paroi inférieure, de sorte que, lorsque le couvercle (4) se trouve dans la position fermée, la paroi inférieure (9) du contenant (2) soit complètement exposée;
l'emballage (1) étant caractérisé en ce que la paroi avant (11) du couvercle (4) est définie par un première panneau (11') et un second panneau (11"), qui sont superposés, sont joints l'un à l'autre, et définissent respectivement une surface extérieure et une surface intérieure de la paroi avant (11) du couvercle (4).

2. Emballage tel que revendiqué dans la revendication 1, dans lequel, lorsque le couvercle (4) se trouve dans la position fermée, la paroi avant (11) du couvercle (4) est positionnée sur la paroi avant (7) du contenant (2) afin de recouvrir complètement la paroi avant (7) du contenant (2).

3. Emballage tel que revendiqué dans la revendication 1, dans lequel, lorsque le couvercle (4) se trouve dans la position fermée, la paroi avant (11) du couvercle (4) est positionnée sur la paroi avant (7) du contenant (2) afin de recouvrir presque complètement la paroi avant (7) du contenant (2).

4. Emballage tel que revendiqué dans la revendication 1, 2 ou 3, dans lequel le premier panneau (11') et le second panneau (11 ") de la paroi avant (11) du couvercle (4) sont collées l'un à l'autre.

5. Emballage tel que revendiqué dans l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 4, dans lequel chaque paroi latérale (12) du couvercle (4) est définie par deux pattes (12', 12"), qui sont superposées, sont collées entre elles, ont essentiellement la même dimension, et définissent respectivement une surface extérieure et une surface intérieure de la paroi latérale (12) du couvercle (4).

6. Emballage tel que revendiqué dans l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5, dans lequel les parois latérales (12) du couvercle (4) sont plus courtes que la paroi avant (11) du couvercle (4), de manière à laisser une partie inférieure de la paroi avant (11) du couvercle (4) libre latéralement.

12. Emballage tel que revendiqué dans l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 11, dans lequel le contenant (2) comprend deux projections (18) qui font saillie vers l'extérieur afin de s'engager avec le couvercle (4) avec une certaine quantité d'interférence lorsque le couvercle (4) se trouve dans la position fermée.

13. Emballage tel que revendiqué dans l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 11, dans lequel un collier (19) est ajusté, plié en U, à l'intérieur du contenant (2), et fait partiellement saillie vers l'extérieur de l'extrémité haute ouverte (3) pour s'engager avec une surface intérieure correspondante du couvercle (4) lorsque le couvercle (4) se trouve dans la position fermée.

24. Emballage tel que revendiqué dans la revendication 23, dans lequel les contenants (2) sont raccordés entre eux de manière à être mobiles entre une configuration repliable, dans laquelle les contenants (2) sont agencés de sorte à être en contact entre eux et cote à cote le long de la paroi avant (7) et la paroi arrière (6), et une configuration dépliée, dans laquelle les contenants (2) sont agencés cote à cote le long des parois latérales (8); et le couvercle (4) ne peut être déplacé de la position ouverte à la position fermée ouvrant et fermant respectivement les extrémités hautes ouvertes (3) de tous les contenants (2) que lorsque les contenants (2) se trouvent dans la configuration repliable.
