BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention:

[0001] The present invention relates to golf accessories and more particularly, to a golf counter that can be fastened to a necktie clip or golf glove for counting strokes as well as putts.

2. Description of the Related Art:

[0002] Most golf courses consist of eighteen holes. The first stroke on each hole is hit from the teeing ground. Once on the green, the ball is putted toward the hole. Golf is a popular sport across all sections of society. People usually play golf in groups. Each player records the score on a score card with a pen. It is inconvenient to record the score in this manner. Further, a beginner may forget the number strokes actually played, raising a dispute.

[0003] Further, people may wear golf gloves when playing the game of golf. It is inconvenient for a player to pick up a pen and a score card for recording the score when wearing golf gloves.

[0004] Further, people may use an electronic scorer with push button for counting strokes during a golf game. However, it is inconvenient to use an electronic scorer with push button during a golf game.

[0005] A golf counter according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from US 5,730,658. This golf counter is simple and of small size. It can, however, only be used to count and show one number, in this case the number of strokes.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The object of the present invention is to provide a golf counter, which is convenient for use to count strokes as well as putts during a golf game.

[0007] According to one aspect of the present invention, the golf counter comprises a bottom wheel member, a middle wheel member, and a top wheel member. These three stacked wheels are pivotally connected. The bottom wheel member has a series of numerals marked on its top side for counting strokes. The middle wheel member has a through viewing hole for the numerals of the bottom wheel member, and is marked with a series of numerals for counting putts. The top wheel member has a through viewing hole for the numerals of the middle wheel member.

[0008] According to another aspect of the present invention, the golf counter can be fastened to a clip, for example, necktie clip, by means of a magnet. Alternatively, the golf counter can be directly riveted to a golf glove for convenient use.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0010] Referring to FIG. 1, a golf counter 1 which does not fall within the scope of the present invention is shown comprising a first wheel member 11 and a second wheel member 12. This golf counter is for counting strokes, including putts, during a golf game.

[0011] The first wheel member 11 has a stub center shaft 111 perpendicularly protruding from the center of its top side with a series of numerals (for example, 1~12) 112 marked on it and equiangularly spaced around the stub center shaft 111, multiple turning/interlocking devices 113 equiangularly spaced around the peripheral, and multiple of recesses 114 formed on the top side and equiangularly spaced around the stub center shaft 111.

[0012] The second wheel member 12 is attached to the top side of the first wheel member 11, having a center pivot hole 121 coupled to the stub center shaft 111 of the first wheel member 11, a through viewing hole 124 for the user to see one of the numerals 112, two downward lugs 125 extending from the periphery at two opposite sides, a positioning device 1251 formed on the inside of each of the downward lugs 125 and respectively engaged with one of the turning/interlocking 113 of the first wheel member 11 to hold down the second wheel member 12 to the first wheel member 11 in such a position that the through viewing hole 124 is aimed at one of the numerals 112, and multiple raised stubs 123 protruding from its bottom side and equiangularly spaced around the center pivot hole 121 and respectively engaged into the recesses 114 of the first wheel member 11. Further, a pivot cap 14 is fastened to the stub center shaft 111 of the first wheel member 11 to secure the second wheel member 12, allowing turning the second wheel member 12 around the stub center shaft 111 of the first wheel member 11.

[0013] During a golf game after each stroke, the user rotates the first wheel member 11 relative to the second wheel member 12 to shift the engagement between the positioning devices 1251 of the downward lugs 125 and the turning/interlocking devices 113 of the first wheel member 11 by one notch, thereby counting the number of strokes.

[0014] Referring to FIGS. 2-4, a golf counter 1 in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention is shown comprising a bottom wheel member 11, a middle wheel member 12, and a top wheel member 13. The golf counter of Fig. 1 is for counting total strokes of each hole during a golf game. The bottom wheel member 11 of this first embodiment of the present invention is similar to the first wheel member 11 of the aforesaid golf counter of FIG. 1 but only for tee and fairway shots. The middle wheel member 12 of this first embodiment is substantially similar to the second wheel member 12 of the aforesaid golf counter of FIG. 1 with the exception that the middle wheel member 12 of this second embodiment further has a series of numerals (for example, 0~5) 122, for counting number of putts, marked on the top side and equiangularly spaced around the center pivot hole 121. The top wheel member 13 is attached on top of the middle wheel member 12, having a diameter relatively smaller than the middle wheel member 12, a center hole 131 pivotally coupled to the center stub shaft 111 of the bottom wheel member 11, a through viewing hole 132 through which the user can see one of the numerals 122, and at least one, for example, two raised stubs 133 protruded from the bottom side and engaged into the raised stubs 123 of the middle wheel member 12.

[0015] After each stroke during a golf game, the user can rotate the bottom wheel member 11 relative to the middle wheel member 12 to shift the engagement between the positioning devices 1251 of the downward lugs 125 and the turning/interlocking devices 113 of the bottom wheel member 11 by one notch, thereby counting the number of strokes, or rotate the top wheel member 13 relative to the middle wheel member 12 to shift the engagement between the raised stubs 133 of the top wheel member 13 and the recesses of the middle wheel member 12 to count putts.

[0016] Referring to FIGS. 6 and 7, the golf counter 1 can be fastened to the metal base member 41 or 51 of a metal clip 4 or 5 by means of a magnet 3. By means of the metal clip 4 or 5, the golf counter 1 can be fastened to the user's clothing.

[0017] Referring to FIG. 8, the golf counter 1 may be directly riveted to a golf glove 6 for convenient use.

[0018] As indicated above, the invention provides a golf counter, which has the following features.

1. The golf counter is comprised of a bottom wheel member 11, a middle wheel member 12, and a top wheel member 13. The bottom wheel member 11, the middle wheel member 13 and the top wheel member 13 are pivotally connected together in a stack. The bottom wheel member 11 has a series of numerals 112 marked on its top side for counting strokes, and multiple turning/interlocking devices 113 equiangularly spaced around the periphery. The middle wheel member 12 has a through viewing hole 124 through which one of the numerals 112 of the bottom wheel member 11 is seen, a positioning device 1251 on each of two opposite peripheral downward lugs 125 thereof for engagement with the turning/interlocking devices 113, a series of numerals 122 marked on its top side for counting putts, and multiple recesses 123 equiangularly spaced on its top side. The top wheel member 13 has a through viewing hole 132 through which one of the numerals 122 of the middle wheel member 12 is shown, and raised stubs 133 at its bottom side for engagement with recesses of the middle wheel member 12. By means of rotating the bottom wheel member 11 relative to the middle wheel member 12, the user can count strokes during a golf game. By means of rotating the top wheel member 13 relative to the middle wheel member 12, the user can count putts during a golf game.

2. The golf counter 1 can be equipped with a necktie clip 4 or clip 5 for fastening to the user's clothing. Alternatively, the golf counter 1 can be directly riveted to a golf glove 6 for convenient use.

Claims

1. A golf counter comprising:

a bottom wheel member (11) comprising a stub center shaft (111), a series of numerals (112) marked on a top side thereof and equiangularly spaced around said stub center shaft (111) for counting strokes, and multiple turning/interlocking devices (113) equiangularly spaced around the periphery thereof; and

a middle wheel member (12) pivotally coupled to the stub center shaft (111) of said bottom wheel member (11) and supported on the top side of said bottom wheel member (11), said middle wheel member (12) having a through viewing hole (124) for showing one of the numerals (112) of said bottom wheel member (11), and two downward lugs (125) extending from the periphery thereof, said downward lugs (125) each having a positioning device (1251) for engagement with the turning/interlocking devices (113) of said bottom wheel member (11)

characterized in that said said two downward lugs (125) extend from the periphery of said bottom wheel member (11) at two opposite sides, in that

said middle wheel (12) member has a series of numerals (122) marked on the top side of same and equiangularly spaced around the stub center shaft (111), and multiple recesses formed on the top side thereof and equiangularly spaced around the stub center shaft (111) of said bottom wheel member (11); and in that a top wheel member (13) is supported on top of said middle wheel member (12) and pivotally coupled to the stub center shaft (111) of said bottom wheel member (11) and rotatable relative to said middle wheel member (12) for counting putts, said top wheel member (13) having a through viewing hole (132) for showing one of the numerals (122) of said middle wheel member (12), and at least one raised stub (133) for engaging the said multiple recesses of said middle wheel member (12) to hold the through viewing hole (132) in alignment with one numeral (122) of said middle wheel member (12).

2. The golf counter as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that said bottom wheel member (11) has multiple recesses (114) formed on the top side thereof and equiangularly spaced around said stub center shaft (111); said middle wheel member having multiple raised stubs (123) protruded from the bottom side thereof and engaged with the recesses (114) of said bottom wheel member (11).

3. The golf counter as claimed in claim 1, characterized by further comprising a clip (4; 5), and a magnet (3) that fastens said first wheel member (11) to said clip (4; 5) by means of magnetic attraction.

4. The golf counter as claimed in claim 3, characterized in that said clip (4; 5) is a necktie clip.

5. The golf counter as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that said pivot shaft (111) of said first wheel member (11) is riveted to a golf glove (6).

Ansprüche

1. Golfzähler, der aufweist:

ein unteres Radglied (11), das einen mittigen Achsenstummel (111), eine Serie von Ziffern (112), die an seiner Oberseite markiert sind und mit gleichen Winkelabständen um den mittigen Achsenstummel (111) zum Zählen von Schlägern angeordnet sind, und mehrere Dreh/Verriegelungseinrichtungen (113) aufweist, die miz gleichen Winkelabständen um den Umfang derselben angeordnet sind; und

ein mittleres Radglied (12), das drehbar mit dem mittigen Achsenstummel (111) des unteren Radglieds (11) verbunden ist und auf der Oberseite des unteren Radglieds (11) gelagert ist, welches mittlere Radglied (12) ein Durchblickloch (124) zum Zeigen einer der Ziffern (112) des unteren Radglieds (11) und zwei nach unten gerichtete Ansätze (125) aufweist, die sich von seinem Umfang erstrecken, welche nach unten gerichteten Ansätze (125) jeweils eine Positioniereinrichtung (1251) für Eingriff mit den Dreh/Verriegelungseinrichtungen (113) des unteren Radglieds (11) aufweisen,

dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die zwei nach unten gerichteten Ansätze (125) sich vom Umfang des unteren Radglieds (11) an zwei gegenüberliegenden Seiten erstrecken, dass

das mittlere Radglied (12) eine Serie von Ziffern (122), die auf der Oberseite desselben markiert sind und mit gleichen Winkelabständen um den mittigen Achsenstummel (111) angeordnet sind, und mehrere Ausnehmungen aufweist, die an der Oberseite desselben angeordnet sind und mit gleichen Winkelabständen um den mittigen Achsenstummel (111) des unteren Radglieds (11) angeordnet sind; und dass ein oberes Radglied (13) oben auf dem mittleren Radglied (12) gelagert ist und drehbar mit dem mittigen Achsenstummel (111) des unteren Radglieds (11) verbunden ist und in Bezug auf das mittlere Radglied (12) zum Zählen von Putts drehbar ist, welches obere Radglied (13) ein Durchblickloch (132) zum Zeigen einer der Ziffern (122) des mittleren Radglieds (12) und wenigstens einen vorstehenden Zapfen (133) für Eingriff mit den mehreren Ausnehmungen des mittleren Radglieds (12) aufweist, um das Durchblickloch (132) mit einer Ziffer (122) des mittleren Radglied (12) ausgerichtet zu halten.

2. Golfzähler nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das untere Radglied (11) mehrere Ausnehmungen (114) aufweist, die an der Oberseite desselben ausgebildet sind und mit gleichen Winkelabständen um den mittigen Achsenstummel (111) angeordnet sind; welches mittlere Radglied mehrere vorstehende Zapfen (123) aufweist, die von seiner Unterseite vorstehen und mit den Ausnehmungen (114) des unteren Radglieds (11) in Eingriff sind.

3. Golfzähler nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass er weiter eine Klammer (4; 5) und einen Magneten (3) aufweist, der das erste Radglied (11) an der Klammer (4; 5) mithilfe von magnetischer Anziehung festhält.

4. Golfzähler nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Klammer (4; 5) eine Krawattenklammer ist.

5. Golfzähler nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Drehachse (111) des ersten Radglieds (11) an einem Golfhandschuh (6) angenietet ist.

Revendications

1. Compteur de golf, comprenant :

un élément de roue de base (11) comportant un bout d'arbre de centrage (111), une série de nombres (112) marqués sur une face supérieure de celui-ci et espacés à intervalles angulaires réguliers autour dudit bout d'arbre de centrage (111) pour compter les coups et plusieurs dispositifs d'arrêt en rotation (113) espacés à intervalles angulaires réguliers sur la périphérie de celui-ci ; et

un élément de roue intermédiaire (12) couplé en rotation au bout d'arbre de centrage (111) dudit élément de roue de base (11), ledit élément de roue intermédiaire (12) ayant un trou traversant de visualisation (124) pour montrer l'un des nombres (112) dudit élément de roue de base (11) et deux ergots dirigés vers le bas (125) s'étendant depuis la périphérie de celui-ci, chacun desdits ayant un dispositif de positionnement (1251) pour coopérer avec les dispositifs d'arrêt en rotation (113) dudit élément de roue de base (11),

caractérisé en ce que lesdits deux ergots dirigés vers le bas (125) s'étendent depuis la périphérie dudit élément de roue de base (11) sur deux côtés opposés, en ce que

ledit élément de roue intermédiaire (12) porte une série de nombres marqués sur sa face supérieure et espacés à intervalles angulaires réguliers autour dudit bout d'arbre de centrage (111), et plusieurs évidements formés sur sa face supérieure et espacés à intervalles angulaires réguliers autour dudit bout d'arbre de centrage (111) dudit élément de roue de base (11) et en ce que un élément de roue supérieur (13) est supporté sur la partie supérieure dudit élément de roue intermédiaire (12) et est couplé à rotation avec le bout d'arbre de centrage (111) dudit élément de roue de base (11) et peut tourner par rapport audit élément de roue intermédiaire (12) pour compter les coups roulés (putts), ledit élément de roue supérieur (13) ayant un trou traversant de visualisation (132) pour montrer l'un des nombres (122) dudit élément de roue intermédiaire (12) et au moins un plot en relief (133) pour pénétrer lesdits plusieurs évidements dudit élément de roue intermédiaire (12) pour maintenir le trou traversant de visualisation (132) en alignement avec un nombre (122) dudit élément de roue intermédiaire (12).

2. Compteur de golf selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ledit élément de roue de base (11) comporte plusieurs évidements (114) formés sur sa face supérieure et espacés à intervalles angulaires réguliers autour dudit bout d'arbre de centrage (111), ledit élément de roue intermédiaire comportant plusieurs plots en relief (123) faisant saillie à partir de sa face inférieure et pénétrant dans les évidements (114) dudit élément de roue de base (11).

3. Compteur de golf selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend en outre une pince (4, 5) et un aimant (3) qui fixe ledit premier élément de roue (11) à ladite pince (4, 5) au moyen de l'attraction magnétique.

4. Compteur de golf selon la revendication 3, caractérisé en ce que ladite pince (4, 5) est une pince à cravate.

5. Compteur de golf selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que ledit bout d'arbre de centrage (111) dudit premier élément de roue (11)est riveté sur un gant de golf.
