Improved enzymes and detergents containing them |
(57) This invention relates to proteases with improved application properties in cleaners
and detergents. The improvements are achieved by substituting positively charged or
uncharged amion acids in the substrate binding region of the wild type subtilisin
protease. In particular, the present invention relates to a mutant subtilisin protease,
characterized by at least one amino acid alteration which results in a reduced positive
charge or an increased negative charge in the region of the substrate binding pocket,
wherein said amino acid alteration is R99E,R99G,R99A or R99S.
