(54) Ventilation system


(57) A ventilation system comprising: a housing having an air inlet and an air outlet; a first fan arrangement and a second fan arrangement arranged in series within the housing, each for causing airflow through the housing from the air inlet to the air outlet, wherein in use, either of the first fan arrangement and the second fan arrangement can be active while the other is idle; and an airflow control system configurable in a first configuration for when the first fan arrangement is active and the second fan arrangement is idle and in a second configuration for when the first fan arrangement is idle and the second fan arrangement is active, in the first configuration a first airflow path by-passing the first fan arrangement being substantially closed and a second airflow path by-passing the second fan arrangement being open and in the second configuration the first airflow path being open and the second airflow path being substantially closed.
