Description

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a device which has been specially conceived to apply, in a fast and simple manner, the necessary mortar in the construction of walls using bricks or other similar materials, said mortar acting as a bonding agent between the different rows of bricks that comprise the wall.

[0002] The object of the invention is not only to substantially expedite the process of applying mortar to each row of bricks, but also to ensure that said mortar is adequately measured out and applied to said row, for the purpose of achieving not only a homogeneous distribution of the mortar but also adequate layer thickness.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] As is known, when building a wall using bricks, blocks and similar materials, the different rows of superimposed materials are fixed together through the application of mortars comprised of cement and sand, in such a manner that the mason, using a mortar bucket and trowel, conventionally distributes the mortar over the already laid row of bricks, so as to lay the following row of bricks on said mortar.

[0004] This task, in addition to being slow, requires the mason to be highly skilled in order to ensure that the mortar layer is as even as possible both in terms of thickness and width, said operation being slow and entailing abundant loss of material due to mortar dropping to the ground.

[0005] Additionally, in "face" brick walls, the equal size of the joints defined by the mortar layers directly and decisively affects the final aesthetic appearance of said wall.

[0006] Devices that consist of a guide of adjustable height have been devised in an attempt to obviate this problem, along which a cart fitted with a hopper of adequate capacity may be displaced, in such a manner that as said cart slides along the guide, the hopper deposits a homogeneous layer of mortar over the row of bricks, repeating this cycle as often as necessary until the wall reaches the projected height, which obviously requires the gradual ascent of the guide in correspondence with the increase in the number of rows laid.

[0007] This solution is structurally complex, consequently expensive and is difficult to install onsite, due to which its use has not proliferated in practice.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The device of the invention aims to solve the aforementioned problems in an entirely satisfactory manner, by providing a structurally simple solution which is manageable and offers optimum results.

[0009] For this purpose and, more specifically, said device consists of a framework comprised of a rectangular frame which, by means of legs, is raised above the ground to facilitate manipulation thereof, said legs being detachable and adjustable in height, and may in turn be fitted with wheels to facilitate onsite displacement of the device, said frame having narrowing elements defined within its opening, on at least two opposed sides thereof, consisting of a pair of horizontal and internal flaps that comprise the support means for a plurality of loaders of variable width adaptable to different wall widths, in accordance with the different types of bricks, blocks, etc., the length of which is also variable in accordance with the manipulation means provided thereof, in such a manner that said length may coincide with that of the brick, i.e. approximately 25 centimetres, or have a very considerable length, for example 3 metres, which obviously complicates the device's manipulation in its loading position, requiring the intervention of several persons, but expediting, in compensation, the application of mortar to the wall.

[0010] In any case, these loaders have a generally elongated pan shape, the profile of which diverges towards the inner surface to facilitate both filling and emptying thereof, and may adopt a triangular, trapezoidal, half-shaft or any other profile according to need, which can be open or closed at the ends.

[0011] Said loaders are configured to rest on their ends upon the cart mounted on the frame, disposed parallel and in lateral contact with each other, in such a manner that said loaders completely close the opening of the frame defined by the framework, wherein said loaders are filled by simply depositing and distributing the adequate quantity of mortar with the help of strips that act as levelling elements. Once the loaders are full, they only have to be extracted individually from the cart and emptied over the last row of already laid bricks, so that the adequate measure of mortar is distributed evenly over said row.

[0012] The structure of the framework shall be preferably metal, while the loaders may also be metal or plastic.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0013] For the purpose of complementing the description below and to further explain the characteristics of the invention, a set of drawings in accordance with a preferred embodiment thereof has been included as an integral part of said description, wherein the following figures have been represented in an illustrative and unlimitative manner:

Fig. 1.-Shows, according to a schematic perspective representation, the rolling framework that forms part of a device for applying mortar in the construction of walls using bricks and similar materials, configured in accordance with the object of the present invention, next to which one of its complementary loaders has been represented.

Fig. 2.-Shows a cross-sectional detail of the framework represented in the preceding figure, fully occupied by the corresponding set of loaders, wherein some of the multiple possible profiles that formally exist have been represented.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

[0014] The preceding figures illustrate that the device proposed by the invention consists of a framework (1) comprised of a determined rectangular frame (2), of suitable size, configured to adopt a horizontal position in use conditions and being conveniently raised above the ground, by means of legs (3) of adjustable length for the purpose of adapting the work plane to the height required by each user, two of said legs (3) preferably ending in wheels (4), opposite to which the frame (2) includes projections (5) in the form of grips which convert the framework into a mobile cart so as to facilitate its onsite displacement.

[0015] At least two of the profiles that comprise said frame (2) include a lower flap (6) that projects horizontally inwards, as shown in figure 1, in such a manner that both flaps (6) are configured to support a plurality of loaders (7) that receive the mortar paste and comprise dispensers which are individually removed from the cart and emptied over an already laid row of bricks. Parallel to said flaps (6) and at its centre, the frame (2) includes a crossbar (8) to support the pans or loaders (7), in order to prevent sagging thereof.

[0016] The length of these loaders (7) shall be variable, in the same manner as the distance between the framework supports (6) thereof, in accordance with the projected operating speed, which exclusively depends on the greater or lesser operating difficulty, as the length of said loaders (7) shall be directly proportional to their weight in loading position, thereby increasing the difficulty of displacing the cart to the wall under construction.

[0017] In turn, the profile of the loaders (7) shall be dimensionally adapted to the thickness of the mortar layer applied between the rows of bricks, said loaders (7) logically having different heights, for use in brick walls or construction materials of different widths.

[0018] In any case, the profile of the loaders (7) shall diverge towards their opening, so as to facilitate both filling and emptying thereof, adopting multiple configurations, such as those represented in figure 2, which shows loaders (7) with an inverted isosceles triangular profile, loaders (7') with a half-shaft profile, loaders (7") with a rectangular profile but with truncated lower vertices and loaders (7"') with an inverted isosceles trapezoidal profile, wherein only some of the practically unlimited embodiment possibilities that exist for the repeatedly aforementioned loaders (7) have obviously been represented.

[0019] In any case and as can also be deduced from observing figure 2, the loaders (7) rest upon flaps (6) disposed in lateral contact with each other at the opening thereof, in such a manner that they completely close the frame (2) defined in the framework, thereby allowing the mortar paste to be directly poured into the cart, duly measured out, said paste being adequately extended so as to fill and level off all the loaders, an operation that can be carried out using a strip or any other adequate levelling element.

[0020] As mentioned earlier and once all of the loaders (7) have been filled with mortar paste, these may be individually removed from the cart in order to be emptied, also individually, over rows of bricks or construction materials.
