[0001] The present invention is related to a lamp intended to be mounted or set and being
substantially tile-shaped, comprising a light source and a reflecting member for the
diffusion of the light in the environment.
[0002] This type of lamp is generally used as safety lamp or step lamp, but however it is
understood that the present invention is referred to any kind of lamp.
[0003] In this kind of lamp, a need is felt to use, as light source, one or more LEDs whereby
the luminosity of the lamp can be varied not only by changing the light power of the
LEDs but also increasing or decreasing the LED number.
[0004] Further, the use of LEDs eases the adoption of long lasting batteries, more compact
and fast recharging, e.g. a lithium battery.
[0005] However, the shapes of the commonly known lamps do not consent an easy and standardized
replacement of the LED supports.
[0006] The technical problem underlying the present invention is to provide a lamp allowing
to obviate to the drawbacks mentioned with reference to the prior art.
[0007] Such a problem is solved by a lamp as above specified, wherein one or more LEDs are
arranged on a supporting member provided with electrical connectors respective ends
thereof, the latter being apt to be inserted in quick coupling plugs, shaped so as
to provide said supporting member with a mechanical support.
[0008] The main advantage of the lamp according to the present invention lies in the eased
replacement of the light source, also allowing a standardization.
[0009] Further, the manufacturing process and the storing of the light source can be conveniently
separated from those of the lamp body.
[0010] The present invention will be described hereinafter according to a preferred embodiment
thereof, provide to an exemplificative and non limitative purpose with reference to
the annexed drawings wherein:
* Figure 1 shows an exploded view of an embodiment of lamp according to the present
invention; and
* Figure 2 shows two versions of a details of the lamp embodiment of Figure 1.
In connection with the Figures, a lamp and particularly a safety lamp is generally
indicated as 1.
[0011] It comprises, from the right to the left, a lamp case 2, apt to house one or more
batteries and the electronic circuitries, not shown, for the control of the lamp itself,
a reflecting member 3 apt to be placed on the case 2, a light source 4 which will
be detailed in the following, a glass cover 5, having a convex shape, a covering plate
6 for the lamp edges and a mounting frame 7.
[0012] The light source 4 has a strip-shaped supporting member 8 substantially shoving an
arc profile, with a slight central convexity which is the same of the convexity of
the glass cover 5, to have the two elements resting one on each other. In such a way,
said supporting member 8 produces a structural strengthening for the glass cover 5.
[0013] The ends 9 of the supporting member 8 are shaped so as to be inserted in plugs 10
placed at the sides of the case 2. Such plugs 10 are of the quick coupling type, shaped
so as to provide the supporting member 8 with a mechanical support. In said plugs,
also electrical connectors are provided, so that the simple plug-in of the supporting
member 8 in the plugs makes possible the operation of the lamp.
[0014] The plugs 10 are connected to the not shown battery. On the concave side thereof,
the supporting member 8 comprises any number of LEDs 11 supplied through a electric
circuitry embedded in the thickness of the supporting member 8. The circuitry is designed
so that the ends act as electrical connectors.
[0015] It is understood that the LEDs 11 are symmetrically centred with respect to the reflecting
member, to which said concave side is faced.
[0016] The light power of the present lamp substantially depends upon the number of LEDs
11. Therefore, it is possible to provide a set of supporting members 8 each having
a different number of LEDs 11, so as either to set or to change the power light of
the lamp at the installation thereof.
[0017] To the above disclosed lamp a man skilled in the art, to meet further and contingent
needs, may introduce several additional changes and variants, however all falling
within the protection scope of the present invention, as defined by the annexed claims.
1. Lamp (1), of the type intended to be mounted ar wall framed and being substantially
tile-shaped, comprising a light source and a reflecting member (3) for the diffusion
of the light in an environment, wherein one or more LEDs (11) are arranged on a supporting
member (8) provided with electrical connectors at respective ends (9) thereof, the
latter being apt to be inserted in quick coupling plugs (10), shaped so as to provide
said supporting member (8) with a mechanical support.
2. Lamp (1) according to claim 1, comprising a convex glass cover (5) and wherein the
supporting member (8)is strip-shaped substantially shoving an arc profile, with a
convexity which is the same of the glass cover (5), to have them resting one on each
other.
3. Lamp (1) according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the plugs (10) are placed at the sides
of a case (2) of the lamp (1).
