(54) Multifunctional tool for cleaning rooms

(57) A multifunctional tool (1) for cleaning rooms in general, comprising a supporting body (2) for bristles (3) and the like which has a shank (5) for the connection of a supporting rod (6), the tool further comprising a portion of space (10) which is delimited at least partially by the supporting body (2) for detachably accommodating a cleaning accessory (20) which can be coupled detachably to the supporting body (2) in order to use it.

Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a multifunctional tool for cleaning rooms in general.

[0002] As is known, tools for cleaning rooms in general, and particularly for removing cobwebs and the like, are already commercially available which generally have a supporting body arranged at right angles on which bristles are placed which in practice define an L-shaped working region.

[0003] Typically, this type of brooms, as well as other types, allow to clean easily surfaces which are arranged vertically or are otherwise oriented downwardly, but for example they do not allow to clean surfaces which are directed upwardly, such as the cornices provided proximate to the ceiling, which for example accommodate light sources inside them.

[0004] Accordingly, the user is forced to have a plurality of tools capable of performing the different types of cleaning.

[0005] The aim of the invention is to solve the problem noted above by providing a multifunctional tool for cleaning rooms in general which allows to have, directly inserted in the tool, a plurality of elements which allow the possibility of different uses.

[0006] Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide a tool which allows to accommodate directly accessories which can be used to increase the functionality of the tool, without however causing additional space occupation for the tool during normal uses.

[0007] Another object of the present invention is to provide a multifunctional tool which, thanks to its particular constructive characteristics, is capable of giving the greatest assurances of reliability and safety in use.

[0008] Still another object of the present invention is to provide a multifunctional tool for cleaning rooms in general which can be obtained easily starting from commonly commercially available elements and materials and is also competitive from a merely economical standpoint.

[0009] This aim and these and other objects, which will become better apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a multifunctional tool for cleaning rooms in general, according to the invention, comprising a supporting body for bristles and the like which has a shank for the connection of a supporting rod, characterized in that it comprises a portion of space which is delimited at least partially by said supporting body for detachably accommodating a cleaning accessory which can be coupled detachably to said supporting body in order to use it.

[0010] Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become better apparent from the description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of a multifunctional tool for cleaning spaces in general, illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, wherein:

Figure 1 is a front view of the multifunctional tool, with the accessory accommodated within the supporting body;

Figure 2 is an exploded view of the tool;

Figure 3 is a view of the tool with the accessory applied for its use;

Figure 4 is a perspective view of a further embodiment of the accessory;

Figure 5 is a sectional view, taken along the line V-V of Figure 3;

Figure 6 is a sectional view, taken along the line VI-VI of Figure 1;

Figure 7 is a view of the tool with a scraper applied thereto;

Figure 8 is a perspective view of the scraper;

Figure 9 is a view of the tool with an angled scraper applied thereto.

[0011] With reference to the figures, and in particular to Figures 1 to 6, the multifunctional tool according to the invention, generally designated by the reference numeral 1, comprises a supporting body 2 to which bristles 3 are connected which, in a preferred embodiment, are constituted by the traditional filament-like bristles which are arranged with a substantially L-shaped configuration.

[0012] Of course, both the configuration of the supporting body and the type of bristles can be modified and can be for example replaced by the traditional expanded elements used for cleaning.

[0013] A peculiarity of the invention consists in that the supporting body 2 has a right-angled shape and is connected to a shank 5, leaving a region free so as to define in practice a portion of space or receptacle 10 which, in plan view, is open outwardly.

[0014] The shank 5 is used for the normal connection of a supporting rod 6.

[0015] The peculiarity of the invention consists in that in the portion of space or receptacle 10 it is possible to accommodate detachably a cleaning accessory, generally designated by the reference numeral 20, which is provided by means of a brush-like body 21 which lies on a circumferential portion and is connected to a coupling portion 22 which, as shown in Figure 4, has mutually opposite edges 23 which allow to insert it in engagement recesses 24 provided laterally on the supporting body 2.

[0016] Moreover, the portion 22 has a fork-like protrusion 25 which allows to couple the accessory 20 inside the receptacle 10 by means of the insertion of the fork 25 in a groove 26 formed in the shank 5.

[0017] With the described arrangement it is therefore possible to have available an accessory which is constituted by the bristles arranged along a circumferential portion which can be accommodated directly within a region which is delimited by the supporting body of the main cleaning element, so that it does not create outward space occupations during normal uses of the tool.

[0018] If it is necessary to perform cleaning in confined spaces or on surfaces which are directed upwardly, it is possible to apply the accessory 20, as shown in Figure 3, having available a tool which is much more versatile and functional.

[0019] It is also possible to apply to the tool described above a scraper, designated by the reference numeral 30 in Figure 8, which has an engagement portion 31 which can be inserted in the recesses 24 and a blade-shaped portion 32 which is aligned with an engagement portion 31.

[0020] Optionally, as shown in Figure 9, it is possible to provide an angled scraper 35 which is provided with the same engagement portion 31, from which a blade-shaped portion arranged at right angles, designated by the reference numeral 36, protrudes and can be arranged laterally adjacent to the region affected by the bristles 3.

[0021] From what has been described above it is therefore evident that the invention achieves the proposed aim and objects, and in particular the fact is stressed that a tool is provided which is particularly versatile and functional and allows to insert, within the traditional tool for removing cobwebs and the like, which has bristles arranged along an L-shaped arrangement, an additional accessory which allows to access tight spaces, thus increasing considerably the versatility of the assembly.

[0022] It should be noted that when the accessory does not need to be used, it can be accommodated directly within the space delimited by the tool, thus avoiding the creation of protrusions which are in excess or otherwise inconvenient.

[0023] The invention thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims.

[0024] All the details may further be replaced with other technically equivalent elements.

[0025] In practice, the materials used, as well as the contingent shapes and dimensions, may be any according to requirements.

[0026] The disclosures in Italian Patent Application No. MI2007A000462 from which this application claims priority are incorporated herein by reference.

[0027] Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs, those reference signs have been included for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly, such reference signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference signs.
