(54) RFID tag reader and method for calibrating RFID tag reader

(57) An RFID tag reader having an antenna (200) for communication with an RFID tag (11, 12), a high frequency circuit (110, 120, 160) for processing a communication signal with the RFID tag (11, 12), a signal line (150) for connecting the antenna 200 with the high frequency circuit, and an impedance matching circuit (204) for impedance matching between the antenna (200) and the signal line (150) includes: detection means for detecting a calibration RFID tag (12) provided in a predetermined reading range; and calibration means for calibrating the high frequency circuit (110, 120, 160) or matching circuit (204) so that the calibration RFID tag (12) can be detected by the detection means.
