(57) A hair roller (100) for curling the hair of a user, the hair roller comprising a body member (110) having an outer surface for imparting a curl to the hair extending about a central axis. The hair roller also comprises a first securing member (120) moveable towards the outer surface of the body member for securing hair spooled about the body member. The first securing member (120) is rotatable relative to the body member about its central axis so as to allow spooling of hair upon rotation of the body member.
