(54) Device for the assembly of taps in sanitary-ware

(57) The device comprises a tank (1) which is provisionally secured beneath the corresponding surface (7) of some sanitary-ware, in order to cosily and rapidly carry out the connections between the pipes (18) for the water supply and the ducts (16) for connection to the respective sanitary components, such as a tap control (13), a tap (14) and a shower hose (15). Said tank (1) presents a lateral hole (2) for the passage of the pipes (18). Fitted to the upper part is a plate (10) which rests on some wings (5) of the tank (1), Fitted on the plate (10) is a second plate (11) which acts as an embellishment, with holes (12) for positioning and fitting of the sanitary components (13, 14, 15).
The provisional securing of the tank (1) is carried out with the aid of a sliding frame (17) fitted perimctrically on said tank, running up against the wings (5), with the securing being established, by means of elements (19) provided complementarily in that frame (17) and in the lower face of the surface (7). The corresponding connections and fittings having been made, the final fastening of the tank (1) is carried out by means of screws (9) passing through holes (8) in the wings (5) and through holes in the plates (10 and 11). The bottom of the tank (1) is provided with a hole containing a siphon (4) via which the water spilt during the corresponding connecting and fitting operations can drain away.

Description

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0001] As stated in the title of this descriptive specification, the present invention relates to a device for the fitting of taps in sanitary-ware, which has been conceived and carried out with the aim of facilitating the manual operations that have to be performed in the fitting and corresponding connection of sanitary components, such as taps, controls and shower hoses for baths and similar.

PRIOR ART OF THE INVENTION

[0002] As is known, when fitting certain sanitary components such as taps and controls in baths and similar, including shower hoses in baths, access needs to be established in order to be able to execute the actual fitting operations themselves, in such a way that this not only implies the drawback of having to make the said access but also the fitting is carried out in positions that are uncomfortable for the operator.

[0003] Moreover, the time taken in the fitting operations is notable, independently of the fact that the final execution is sometimes not as correct as might have been desired.

[0004] It can also be pointed out that sanitary components remain exposed underneath the surface in such a way that in the event of any leak or dripping due to any circumstance the water falls directly onto the fixture located beneath or onto the floor, with the consequent problems and drawbacks that this causes.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The inventive device is intended precisely for solving all the problems and drawbacks mentioned above, based on using a kind of tank that is located beneath the surface in which it is intended to introduce the sanitary components, the said tank being initially secured beneath the surface via an independent frame which, located around the tank, is secured beneath the surface by means of some "Velcro" type adhesive strips, until the final fastening by means of screws, in such a way that this provisional fastening or pre-fitting of the tank is maintained while the operations are being carried out for connection of the water pipes with the ducts corresponding to the tap or taps, and/or shower hose for baths and similar, etc.

[0006] In order to permit the fitting and establishment of the connections correctly, as well as the final fastening of the said tank, provision has been made for the latter to have a hole in one of its side walls for the passage of water pipes, along with a drain that can be connected to a siphon provided in the bottom, so that any possible leaks and drips are fed to the general drain without causing any damage or deterioration at all, since the tank will preferably be made of plastic or a waterproof material that will not deteriorate or corrode.

[0007] Moreover, the tank is s complemented on top with an embellishing cover comprising two plates, a lower one directly resting on the edge of the tank, acting as a joint, with a large window occupying a major part of its width, and another upper one which is the actual embellishing plate itself, provided with holes for the passage of the pipes corresponding to the taps, control and shower nozzle, in the event that these are the sanitary components that are fitted.

[0008] These two plates are provided with holes for the passage of the final fastening screws for the tank, these screws also passing through holes made in wings provided for the purpose in the sides of tank itself, these wings on the one hand acting as means of support for the securing frame and on the other hand as identifying means for the correct position of the tank in its fitting, since individual locating recesses are made on the upper part of those wings for the respective labels as the actual identifying elements.

[0009] By means of the said device, the need is obviated of having to establish access for the conventional fitting of the type of sanitary components mentioned earlier, thus facilitating the fitting tasks, which will be able to be carried out more comfortably and in less time, plus the fact that in the event of a possible leak or dripping of the pipes and/ or ducts and their couplings, the water will fall inside the tank itself and will flow directly into the general drain without any problem of deteriorating the floor or fixture beneath on which that leaking or dripping water can fall.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0010] In order to complement the description to be made forthwith, and with the aim of aiding a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, this descriptive specification is accompanied by a set of drawings on the basis of which the innovations and advantages of the device for fitting of taps in sanitary-ware, carried out in accordance with the object of the invention, will be more easily understood.

Figure 1.- Shows a view according to an exploded perspective of the device forming the object of the invention.

Figure 2.- Shows a side view of the same device as in the previous figure, incorporating the fitting of certain sanitary components such an a tap control, the actual tap itself and a shower hose, with the pipes and/or ducts being shown in a dashed line with their corresponding couplings which remain inside the actual tank of the device.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED FORM OF EMBODIMENT

[0011] With the commented figures in view, it can be seen how the inventive device is constituted on the basis of a tank 1 with a general prismatic configuration, one side of which is provided with a hole 2 for the passage of pipes 18 for the supply of hot and cold water, while the bottom 3 has been provided with a drain hole to which is coupled a siphon 4 for the run-off of water as will be explained later on.

[0012] In the upper part of its sides, the tank 1 includes horizontal external wings 5 with a recess for a label 6 identifying the position which that tank 1 has to occupy in its displacement beneath the surface 7 of a bath or similar. These wings 5 have pairs of holes 8 for the passage of fastening screws 9 for the actual tank 1.

[0013] On top, it is complemented with a plate 10 provided with a window occupying the major part of its width, and an embellishing plate 11 for complete covering, which is provided with holes 12 for the passage of the ducts 16 corresponding to, for example, a control 13 for hot or cold water, a tap 14 and a shower control 15 for a bath, as can be seen in figure 2.

[0014] The fastening screws 9 pass through said plates 10 and 11, with the final fastening being done beneath the actual surface 7 once these screws 9 have passed through the plates 10 and 11, the wings 5 and the surface itself 7.

[0015] The water pipes 18 accessing the tank 1 via the lateral hole 2 are connected to the ducts 16 for the control 13 of the tap 14 and for the shower hose 15, following a provisional location or pre-fitting of the tank 1, for which a frame 17 has been provided through which the said tank 1 passes, in such a way that by means of some adhesive strips 19 provided in that frame 17 and underneath the surface 7, a temporary securing can be achieved of the tank 1, during the fitting and connecting of the aforementioned sanitary components, in order to then carry out the final fastening by means of the screws 9.

[0016] Finally, it can be said that in the event of a leak or drips in the couplings or connections between the pipes 16 and 18, the water will fall inside the tank 1 and run off to the outside via the siphon 4.
