(57) A carton for retaining articles (B) comprising a top structure (16, 14, 12, 6) including a top panel (12) and means (48) for retaining an upper portion of an article. The carton comprising a bottom structure (8, 10) including a bottom panel (10) and means (80) for retaining a lower portion of the same article. The carton comprises a back panel (4). Wherein the means (48) for retaining an upper portion of an article comprises an article engaging means (48) for engaging a radially protruding portion of an article and wherein only the back panel (4) is connected to both the top structure (16, 14, 12, 6) and to the bottom structure (8, 10) and provides the only connection therebetween.
