(54) Sight mounting


(57) Embodiments of the present invention relate to a mounting assembly for mounting a reticle type sight (130) on a long gun (400). The mounting assembly includes a mounting plate (110) for securing the mounting assembly to a rearward portion of said long gun (400), and a mounting block (120) coupled to a top portion of the mounting plate (110). The mounting plate has one or more connection elements (125) to enable a reticle type sight to be coupled to the mounting block (120).
