Folding supporting frame for baby changing table and bath

Abstract

 The present invention concerns a bath changing table comprising a supporting frame (10), a bath (11) movable mounted at the top of the supporting frame, a changing table (12) above said bath and a holder tray (13) at an intermediate height of said frame. The changing table (12) is connected directly to the bath (11) by hinge means that allow it to fold between a horizontal position to be used lowered onto the bath and a raised position so that the bath can be accessed. Furthermore the supporting frame can be folded and the bath together with the changing table has means to be connected to a part of the frame so as to be attached to it even when the latter is folded.

Description

Field of the Invention

[0001] The present invention concerns a baby changing table and bath of the type with a supporting frame on the top of which a baby bath with a superimposed flat surface are mounted to act as a changing table and at least one holder tray at an intermediate height.

Prior Art

[0002] Each baby changing table with bath of the type mentioned above and up to now known can have different configurations. The bath usually rests and is held on a supporting frame and can be removed to be used without said frame. Also the changing table simply rests on the bath or can be associated with the supporting frame or with an additional frame with the possibility of being reached and placed over or moved away from the latter. However, when it is removed and the supporting frame is folded, the bath always remains separated from said frame, occupying a respective separate space. In addition, the changing table has to be separated and/or moved away from the bath each time the latter has to be used.

Objectives of the Invention

[0003] An objective of this invention is to provide a changing table with bath in which the two components are and always remain connected with the possibility, however, for the changing table to be placed on, and lifted off, the bath as required.

[0004] Another objective of the invention is to provide a changing table with baby bath with a foldable supporting frame, where the bath with the changing table can be connected to the frame to keep all the components together occupying minimum space and being immediately available also when the group as a whole is not used.

[0005] Another objective of the invention is to provide a changing table with baby bath that can be placed and used as a group on a table or the like, separated from the supporting frame.

[0006] These objectives and intrinsic advantages deriving from them are achieved, according to the invention, with a changing table with baby bath, according to the preamble of claim 1 and wherein the changing table is connected to the bath by means, that enable it to be turned between a horizontal position to be used lowered onto the bath and a raised position to gain access to the bath, and the supporting frame is foldable and the bath has means for connecting to a part of the frame so as to remain attached to it when the latter is folded again.

Detailed Description of the Invention

[0008] In these drawings, 10 indicates altogether a supporting frame that holds a bath 11, a changing table 12 above the bath and a holder tray 13 at an intermediate height of the supporting frame.

[0009] This frame 10 is composed of two pairs of legs, one at the front 14 and the other at the back 15, with the legs of each pair connected at the top by a horizontal crosspiece 14', 15', respectively. In the top part, the front legs 14 are bent back, whereas the back legs 15 are bent forward so as to form an "X" in their intermediate part where they are connected by means of pins 16.

[0010] The bath 11, which can have any usual configuration, has a perimetral edge 11' by means of which it rests and is movable on the top crosspieces 14', 15' of the pair of legs 14, 15.

[0011] The changing table 12 is connected directly to the bath 11. In particular, it is attached to the rear side of the bath 11 by means of hinges 17 so as to be able to fold between a position for use in which it is lowered and rests horizontally on the bath (Fig. 1) and a rest position in which it is raised and facing upwards on the rear of the bath (Fig. 2), enabling in this way the latter to be accessed.

[0012] This second position of the changing table 12 can be defined and stabilized by means of at least a pressure locking device that is a release catch, interacting between the changing table and the side of the bath to which it is hinged.

[0013] As regards to the holder tray 13, it is mounted between the front and back legs 14, 15 at a lower level with respect to the pins 16 that connect them. The holder tray 13 is divided, longitudinally, into two hinged halves, in 18, to the front and rear legs and in addition centrally, at 19, in line with their continuous sides.

[0014] Consequently, bath and changing table are always connected, both when the bath is applied and used on the supporting frame, and when disconnected from said frame to rest and be used on the table or some other surface. In both the conditions and as described above, the changing table can fold into a usable position and a rest position according to requirements.

[0015] In addition, when the bath is separated from the supporting frame 10, the latter can be folded by moving the front and rear legs towards each other and, advantageously, the bath together with the changing table can still be attached to the top crosspiece of one of the pairs of legs so as to hang from it as shown in Figs. 5 and 6, so that the group always remains integrated, besides being in a reduced overall size condition.

Claims

1. Bath changing table comprising a folding supporting frame (10), a bath (11) removable mounted at the top of the supporting frame, a changing table (12) above said bath and a holder tray (13) at an intermediate height of said frame, characterized in that the changing table (12) is connected directly to the bath (11) by restraining means that allow it to fold between a horizontal position to be used lowered onto the bath and a raised position so that the bath can be accessed.

2. Bath changing table according to claim 1, wherein the changing table is hinged (16) to a side of the bath and provided with at least a stopping means to define and stabilise its position when in a raised positioned above the bath.

3. Bath changing table according to claim 2, wherein said blocking means is positioned and interacting between the changing table and the side of the bath to which it is hinged.

4. Bath changing table according to any of the previous claims, wherein the supporting frame (10) comprises two pairs of front and rear legs (14, 15) meeting at an X and connected to each other by means of pins (16); the bath (11) rests and is movably connected to the horizontal crosspieces connecting each of said pairs of legs at the top; the changing table (12) is hinged to one side of said bath; and the holder tray (13) is mounted between the two pairs of legs and divided longitudinally into to halves hinged together and bending towards each other.

5. Bath changing table according to any of the previous claims, wherein the supporting frame can be folded after removing the bath together with the changing table, and in which the bath together with the changing table can be hung using hanging means from a crosspiece of a pair of legs after the supporting frame has been folded.
