BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the invention
[0001] The present invention relates to an on-wall information socket with an openable lid,
and especially to an on-wall information socket having an openable lid encircling
a hole on the top surface of its upper cover.
2. Description of the Prior Art
[0002] In a German patent application no.
20 2007 005 463.7 filed before the German Patent Office on April 16, 2007 titled "ON-WALL INFORMATION
SOCKET", it is disclosed that an on-wall information socket has a panel board mounted
on a wall and having an information insertion hole provided on its surface, the information
insertion hole is connected with information connecting jacks on a lower base provided
on the back side of the panel board, and the lower base is provided therein with a
connecting seat connected with ends of cables embedded in the wall, the lower base
is provided at its center with a stud protruding upwardly; an upper cover is provided
for extending therein of the cables embedded in the wall and has at its top center
a hole for a bolt to extend through the hole and locked in the stud, and thereby the
upper cover can be combined with the lower base in any orientation in pursuance of
the extending direction of the cables embedded in the wall.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The present invention provides improvement on the above stated prior art, in order
to render more convenient in assembling the cables (embedded in the wall) of the information
socket.
[0004] The primary object of the present invention is to provide an on-wall information
socket with an openable lid, it is an improvement having the lid formed to circle
a hole on the top surface of an upper cover, the lid has a pivot portion pivotally
connecting with the upper cover, and can be opened by pivoting about the pivot portion
before the a bolt is locked onto a stud on a lower base. With such a structure, it
is more convenient for assembling cables (embedded in the wall) of the information
socket.
[0005] Further, of the on-wall information socket with an openable lid of the present invention,
the width of the lid is preferably able to allow revealing the cables (embedded in
the wall) connecting with a connecting seat when it is opened, in order to render
more convenient of maintenance of the connecting lines of the connecting seat.
[0006] The present invention will be apparent in its structure and effect in use after reading
the detailed description of the preferred embodiment thereof in reference to the accompanying
drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0008] Referring to Figs. 1 and 2, the present invention generally is same as the above
prior art, particularly in the structure for achieving the function of extending in
from any direction of the cables. The present invention has a panel board 10, a lower
base 20, an upper cover 30 and a line bonding means 40.
[0009] The panel board 10 is mounted on a plain wall and has information insertion holes,
and has openable/closable protective plates for protection in addition to the information
insertion holes. The panel board 10 is provided on its back side with the lower base
20 having therein information connecting jacks (such as those of an RJ45 module as
mentioned in the above prior art) corresponding in number with the information insertion
holes, and having therein a connecting seat 22 connected with ends of cables 50 embedded
in the wall, and having at its center a stud 23 protruding upwardly; the lower base
20 is provided in the upper periphery thereof with a plurality of recesses 24 of equal
width and spaced with equal distance.
[0010] The upper cover 30 is provided at its top center with a hole 31, and is provided
on a lateral vertical wall 333 of it with cable holes 32 for extending therein of
the cables 50 embedded in the wall; the upper cover 30 is formed thereon a D shaped
platform 33, thereby the top surface of the upper cover 30 is formed an upper top
surface 331 and a lower top surface 332 connected with each other by the vertical
wall 333; the vertical wall 333 is provided with two arched recesses 334 for resting
thereon of the cables 50, and on the vertical wall 333 where the arched recesses 334
extend to, there are the two cable holes 32 for extending of the cables 50 embedded
in the wall into the upper cover 30. A bolt 34 is extended through the hole 31 from
above a lid 36 on the top of the upper cover 30 and is locked in the stud 23 on the
lower base 20; further a lower edge of the upper cover 30 is formed four down protruding
teeth 35. The lower top surface 332 is provided thereon with the line bonding means
40 which fixes the cables 50 embedded in the wall on the arched recesses 334 with
a screw 41.
[0011] The upper cover 30 can be combined with the lower base 20 in any orientation in pursuance
of the extending in direction of the cables 50 embedded in the wall for locking with
the bolt 34, thereby the cables 50 embedded in the wall can be extended into the lower
base 20 to make electric connection with the connecting seat 22, namely, to make electric
connection with the information connecting jacks.
[0012] The main improvement of the present invention is to form the lid 36 encircling the
hole 31 on the top surface 331 of the upper cover 30; the lid 36 has a pivot portion
361 pivotally connecting with the upper cover 30, and can be opened by pivoting about
the pivot portion 361 before the bolt 34 is locked onto a stud 23 on the lower base
20, such as is shown in Fig. 3. The width of the lid 36 is preferably able to allow
revealing the cables 50 (embedded in the wall) connecting with a connecting seat 22
when it is opened.
[0013] The design for the lid 36 will make more convenient for assembling the cables 50
embedded in the wall. This can be seen by referring to Figs. 4-9 showing a series
of actions of assembling the cables 50.
[0014] In Fig. 4, a screw driver 60 is used to loosen the bolt 34 in order that the lid
36 can be lifted. And as shown in Fig. 5, the screw driver 60 is used to loosen the
screw 41 of the line bonding means 40, so that the line bonding means 40 can be removed.
At this time, as shown in Fig. 6, the upper cover 30 and the lower base 20 are separated
from each other, thus the cables 50 can be extended into the upper cover 30, then
a tool 70 is used to connect the cables 50 embedded in the wall to the connecting
seat 22. Referring to Fig. 7, the tool 70 is used to turn tight the screw 41 of the
line bonding means 40, so that the line bonding means 40 fixes the cables 50 on the
upper cover 30. After this, the upper cover 30 is assembled with the lower base 20,
and the directions of extending of the cables 50 are decided, for instance, Fig. 8
shows the cables 50 are extended from the left side, while Fig. 9 shows they are extended
from the left lower corner; then the bolt 34 is locked onto the stud 23 on the lower
base 20 to connect the upper cover 30 with the lower base 20.
[0015] The present invention can not only make more convenient of assembling than the above
stated prior art, but also repairing and maintenance for connecting of the cables
50 with the connecting seat 22 can also be easier; it needs only to lift the lid 36
as shown in Fig. 3, repairing and maintenance can be performed; and after repairing
and maintenance, it needs only to close the lid 36 and lock tight the bolt 34, it
no more needs to separate the upper cover 30 and the lower base 20 from each other,
this can largely save the time for assembling, repairing and maintaining.
[0016] In conclusion, the preferred embodiment given is only for illustrating the present
invention, and not for giving any limitation to the scope of the present invention.
It will be apparent to those skilled in this art that various equivalent modifications
or changes without departing from the technical idea of this invention shall also
fall within the scope of the appended claims.
