(54) Image forming system and method of controlling image forming system


(57) An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a sheet processing apparatus attached to the image forming apparatus. Said image forming apparatus and said sheet processing apparatus each are capable of being connected to a network. Said image forming apparatus has a system configuration registration unit that registers identification information for identifying said sheet processing and arrangement information regarding an order of arrangement of said image forming apparatus and said sheet processing apparatus which are constituting said image forming system; a storage unit that stores the identification information and the arrangement information in association with each other; and a control unit that sends commands (S1501) to said sheet processing apparatus based on the identification information and the arrangement information stored in said storage unit, wherein said system configuration registration unit changes the arrangement information corresponding to the identification information (S1504) in accordance with an indication by an operator (S1505).
