(54)	Mobile device for displaying information, and method

(57) The invention relates to a mobile device for displaying information, in particular traffic information, and a method for placing such a device. The device has a LED display placed on a weighted base, and can be transported in a compact position and readily placed at the desired location using a crane. Prior to use the device can be folded out, telescoped or erected quickly and easily so that the display is positioned at the desired height.
