Abstract

 The invention relates to a glove externally comprising flexible reinforcement parts (2) connected to the front of the glove (1) by a peripheral portion (21), which parts define, together with the surface of the glove, cavities provided with respective side openings (22) for the temporary or permanent tight-fitting insertion and retention of the two parts (31) of the handle of a pair of scissors (3). These cavities are oriented in an oblique direction and converging towards the side area of the glove (1) comprised between the index finger and thumb and internally have an adhesive material for retaining the two portions of the handle of the pair of scissors. This glove (1) comprises, in the cuff or rear area (11), an adjustment tab (12) and complementary closure means (41, 42) for tightening it around the user's wrist.

Description

Object of the Invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a glove of the type used as a hand protection element. This glove is applicable in gardening and agriculture, and especially in fruit collecting and harvesting works.

Background of the Invention

[0002] The use of protective gloves, which can be formed by different materials such as leather, fabric or rubber, is norman in gardening and agriculture works.

[0003] During fruit collecting and harvesting seasons, scissors are used virtually continuously to separate the fruit from the plant, which requires the user to permanently hold and use the scissors, without taking off the protective glove.

[0004] However, it is uncomfortable to continuously hold the scissors, since a certain pressure must be exerted thereon. Another drawback is that the scissors can fall accidentally to the ground, with the consequent inconvenience and risk of loss.

Description of the Invention

[0005] The glove object of this invention has been designed to solve the aforementioned problems, which glove is especially applicable in gardening and agriculture, specifically during fruit collecting and harvesting seasons in general, and has constructive particularities aimed at allowing a pair of scissors to be held temporarily or permanently, such that the user can open and close his or her hand without the scissors falling to the ground and assuring that the scissors are held without having need to exert a continuous pressure thereon.

[0006] According to the invention the glove externally comprises flexible reinforcement parts connected to the front of the glove by a peripheral portion, said parts defining, together with the surface of the glove, cavities provided with respective side openings for the temporary or permanent tight-fitting insertion and retention of the two parts of the handle of a conventional pair of scissors, of those normally used in collecting and harvesting works.

[0007] The mentioned cavities are oriented in an oblique direction and converging towards the side area of the glove comprised between the index finger and thumb, which allows, upon opening the hand, the pair of scissors to remain in an open position, the oblique and converging imposition of the two cavities of the glove preventing the portions of the handle of the pair of scissors from being accidentally released from said cavities.

[0008] It has likewise been provided that the cavities can internally have an adhesive material for the stable or permanent retention of the two portions of the handle of the pair of scissors. The flexible parts forming the mentioned cavities can be formed in an elastic material to collaborate in the fixing of the handle of the scissors, once coupled with the glove.

[0009] The possibility of incorporating the pair of scissors in the glove involves a certain weight increase, it having been provided that the glove has, in the cuff or rear area, adjustment means for tightening it around the wrist, preventing the glove from easily coming off the hand, especially taking into account that this type of glove is generally loose to achieve a greater comfort of use.

[0010] These adjustment means can be formed by a collapsible tab and by complementary closure means arranged in the mentioned tab and in an opposite area of the rear opening.

Description of the Drawings

[0011] To complement the description which is being made and with the aim of aiding to better understand the features of the invention, a set of drawings is attached to this specification in which the following has been depicted with an illustrative and non-limiting character:

• Figure 1 shows an elevational view of an embodiment of the glove of the invention, seen from the front or area corresponding to the palm of the hand.
• Figure 2 shows a view similar to the previous one in which a pair of scissors coupled in the externally defined cavities in the front of the glove has been depicted.

Preferred Embodiment of the Invention

[0012] In the embodiment of the attached figures, the glove, referenced as a whole with (1), externally has, in the front or area corresponding to the palm of the hand, flexible reinforcement parts (2) having peripheral portions (21) connected to the front of the glove (1) by adhesion or sewing.

[0013] The flexible parts (2) define two cavities provided with respective openings (22) for the tight-fitting insertion of the parts (31) of the handle of a pair of scissors (3).

[0014] As can be observed in Figure 1, the cavities defined by the flexible parts (2) are arranged in an oblique direction and converge towards the side area of the glove (1) comprised between the index finger and thumb, said convergence preventing the scissors (3) from being released from the glove in the extended position of the hand, especially taking into account that the spring (32), usual in gardening scissors, tends to keep the pair of scissors open.

[0015] Optionally, the cavities defined by the flexible parts can internally have an adhesive product for the permanent fixing or retention of the handle of the scissors (3). The mentioned flexible parts can also be formed in an elastic material to collaborate in the adjustment and retention of the handle of the pair of scissors inside the cavities of the glove.

[0016] The glove has, in the rear area or cuff (11) and in the adjustment tab (12), complementary closure means (41, 42) which are contact closure means, pressure closure means or any other type of closure means, which allow tightening the cuff (11) of the glove (1) around the user's wrist.

[0017] Although the described glove is especially applicable in the field of gardening and agriculture, it is likewise functional for any activity requiring hand protection and the use of tools, for example in do-it-yourself work, mechanics, factories, etc.

[0018] Having sufficiently described the nature of the invention, as well as a preferred embodiment, it is stated for all relevant purposes that the materials, shape, size and arrangement of the described elements may be modified, provided that this does not involve an alteration of the essential features of the invention which are claimed below.

Claims

1. A glove, applicable in gardening and agriculture, especially for fruit collecting and harvesting works, characterized in that it externally comprises flexible reinforcement parts (2) connected to the front of the glove (1) by a peripheral portion (21); said parts defining, together with the surface of the glove, cavities provided with respective side openings (22) for the temporary or permanent tight-fitting insertion and retention of the two parts (31) of the handle of a pair of scissors (3).

2. A glove according to claim 1, characterized in that the cavities are oriented in an oblique direction and converging towards the side area of the glove comprised between the index finger and thumb.

3. A glove according to claim 1, characterized in that the cavities internally have an adhesive material for retaining the two portions of the handle of the pair of scissors.

4. A glove according to claim 1, characterized in that the glove comprises, in the cuff (11) or rear area, an adjustment tab (12) and complementary closure means (41, 42) for tightening it around the user's wrist.
