BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a pre-set shape knitted-fabric tie.
[0002] As is known, conventional ties are made by using fabric materials cut on the bias,
which are seamed and so folded as to present a front portion ending with a tapering
V-shape tip; under this tapering V-shape tip being folded the peripheral borders or
flaps of the tie body.
[0003] The above making approach generally requires a very complex making method, and does
not allow to optimize the aesthetic aspects of the made tie.
[0004] Knitted fabric ties are moreover known, which are generally made starting from a
tubular knitted fabric material, which, at a front part thereof, ends with a flat
tip, whereas yet other knitted fabric ties having a V-shape front tip are made by
cutting and seaming the knitted fabric, thereby following conventional methods for
making conventional non knitted fabric ties.
[0005] All the above mentioned making methods and approaches, however, have very high production
costs and do not provide aesthetically pleasant results.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0006] Accordingly, the aim of the present invention is to overcome the above mentioned
drawbacks, by providing a pre-set shape knitted-fabric tie, which can be made, to
any desired shape or pattern, by a series of operations exclusively made by a weaving
process.
[0007] Within the scope of the above mentioned aim, a main object of the invention is to
provide such a knitted-fabric tie having any desired ornamental pattern, or knitted
stitch properties, which can be directly obtained during the weaving operation.
[0008] Another object of the present invention is to provide such a knitted-fabric tie which,
owing to its specifically designed constructional and ornamental features, is very
reliable and safe in operation.
[0009] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide such a pre-set shape knitted-fabric
tie which can be easily made starting from available weaving methods and which, moreover,
is very competitive from a mere economic standpoint.
[0010] According to one aspect of the present invention, the above mentioned aim and objects,
as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved
by a pre-set shape knitted-fabric tie, characterized in that said tie comprises a
front elongated tie body, the so-called. "large shovel", of a knitted fabric, with
a tip of the front portion of V-shape, and made by changing the knitting stitches,
without cuts and seams; that same method being also used to provide a pointed shape,
the so-called "small shovel" at the tie rear part.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
[0011] Further characteristics.and advantages of the present invention will become more
apparent hereinafter from the following detailed disclosure of a pre-set shape knitted-fabric
tie, according to the invention, which is illustrated, by way of an indicative, but
not limitative, example in the accompanying drawings, where:
Figure 1 is a side view of the tie according to the invention;
Figure 2 is a further side view of the inventive tie, as seen from the other side
thereof;
Figure 3 shows a modified embodiment of the pre-set shape knitted-fabric tie according
to the invention.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0012] With reference to the number references of the above mentioned figures, the pre-set
shape knitted-fabric tie according to the present invention, which has been generally
indicated by the reference number 1, comprises a knitted tie elongated body 2, which
is made of a knitted fabric, and which allows to provide, by a single textile processing
operation, the tie in an already finished condition thereof.
[0013] More specifically, said tie comprises a front tie portion 3 which, at a bottom thereof,
comprises a V-shape tie tip 4, which is made by changing the knitted stitches, without
performing cuts and seams.
[0014] In particular, the tip on the large shovel is made by continuously increasing the
knitting stitches, thereby providing a gradual enlargement with an optimum finishing
of the tip edge, as directly made on the knitting machine; the end or finished tip
on the small shovel being made by gradually dropping the knitted stitches.
[0015] The tie front portion comprises tie front portion edges 6 tapering toward the end-piece
portion 7,-which is advantageously made either with a constant width 5, or with a
shaped contour and a final tip also made by suitable stitch droppings 8.
[0016] With the above disclosed arrangement, it should be apparent that the inventive tie
can be completely made by using a knitting weaving process, and being provided with
perfectly finished selvedges and, moreover, allowing to directly achieve, in the weaving
process, all the desired ornamental patterns, since the knitting weaving allows to
just form directly the desired pattern.
[0017] From the above disclosure it should be apparent that the invention fully achieves
the intended aim and objets.
[0018] In fact, the invention provides a pre-set shape knitted-fabric tie, which does not
include cuts and seams, thereby greatly reducing its making costs, together with a
great improvement of the tie aesthetic characteristics, since the tie edge regions
do not include frayed parts, since they are made by a knitting process.
[0019] In practicing the invention, the used materials, provided that they are compatible
to the intended application, as well as the contingent size and shapes, can be any,
depending on requirements.
1. A pre-set shape knitted-fabric tie, characterized in that said tie comprises a knitted fabric elongated body including a front and rear V-shape
tip and being made by changing the knitting stitches without cuts and seams.
2. A. tie, according to the preceding claim, characterized in that said V-shape tips are made by gradually increasing or decreasing the knitting stitches
as the tie is knitted.
3. A tie, according to the preceding claims, characterized in that said tie has a front tie portion having a tapering configuration from the tie tip
toward the opposite end portion thereof.
4. A tie, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said front portion joins with a central plug end-piece, having a substantially constant
width and ending with a small shovel arrangement.
5. A tie, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said tie comprises aesthetic and ornamental patterns which are made directly in the
knitting operation for knitting the elongated tie body.
6. A tie, according to one or more of the preceding claims, characterized in that said elongated body comprises knitted finished perimetrical edges.
