BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
Field of the invention
[0001] The invention relates to an eiderdown cover comprising a sheet cover to be wrapped
around an eiderdown. More in particular the invention relates to an eiderdown cover
for a children's bed.
Prior art
[0002] Such an eiderdown cover is well known. The known eiderdown cover is exclusively intended
to be wrapped around an eiderdown and is usually provided with decorations to make
it more attractive to children.
Summary of the invention
[0003] An objective of the invention is to provide an eiderdown cover of the type described
in the preamble, which is more attractive to children than the known eiderdown cover.
To this purpose the eiderdown cover according to the invention is
characterised in that the eiderdown cover also comprises a tent, which is connected to the cover, which
tent when folded is present against the sheet cover and when unfolded extends from
the sheet cover upwards. Integrating a tent with the eiderdown cover provides an eiderdown
cover that is more attractive to children. Children often want to play in bed before
going to sleep or after waking up. The eiderdown cover according to the invention
also has a play function. This makes the eiderdown cover according to the invention
more attractive to children than the known eiderdown cover. The top of the tent can
for example be hung on a lamp or ceiling, so that the tent can be easily set up.
[0004] An embodiment of the eiderdown cover according to the invention is
characterised in that the tent comprises a ground sheet, as well as wall sheets that form the sidewalls
of the tent when it is unfolded, in which the ground sheet is connected to the sheet
cover. Preferably the ground sheet forms part of the sheet cover.
[0005] In order to efficiently pack the folded tent away, a further embodiment of the eiderdown
cover according to the invention is
characterised in that the eiderdown cover comprises flaps, which are fastened to the sheet cover by an
edge and are thrown over the folded tent, in which the other edges of the flaps are
detachably connected to each other and/or to the sheet cover. The flaps can be connected
to each other and to the sheet cover with for example zips, Velcro, buttons or push
buttons. When the tent is unfolded, the flaps can be pushed between a bed and a mattress
placed on top, so that the tent ground sheet is held taut.
Brief description of the drawings
[0006] The invention will be elucidated more fully below on the basis of drawings in which
an embodiment of the eiderdown cover according to the invention is shown. In these
drawings:
Figure 1 shows the eiderdown cover folded.
Figure 2 shows a cross-section of the eiderdown cover.
Figure 3 shows the eiderdown cover with an open top flap
Figure 4 shows the eiderdown cover with open side flaps and top flap; and
Figure 5 shows the eiderdown cover with an unfolded tent.
Detailed description of the drawings
[0007] Figures 1 to 5 show an embodiment of the eiderdown cover according to the invention
in various phases from a fully folded state, figure 1, to a fully unfolded state,
figure 5. The eiderdown cover 1 has a sheet cover 3 to be wrapped around an eiderdown
5 (see figure 2), as well as side flaps 7, a top flap 9 and a bottom flap 11, which
are fastened to the sheet cover 3 by an edge. The eiderdown cover also has a tent
13, which is connected to the sheet cover 3.
[0008] The folded side flaps 7 and top flap 9 are thrown over the tent 13. The free edges
of the side flaps 7 are hereby detachably connected to each other and/or to the sheet
cover 3 by means of zips 15. The top flap 9 is connected to the side flaps 7 by press-buttons
16.
[0009] The tent has a ground sheet 17, which forms part of the sheet cover 3, see figure
5. The tent also has wall sheets 19, which form the sidewalls of the tent when it
is unfolded. When folded, see figures 1-4, the tent 13 is present against the sheet
cover 3. When unfolded, the tent 13 extends from the sheet cover 3 upwards, see figure
5. The tent 13 also has a lug 21, see figure 5, with which it can be hung up.
[0010] Although in the above the invention is explained on the basis of the drawings, it
should be noted that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment shown in
the drawings. The invention also extends to all embodiments deviating from the embodiment
shown in the drawings within the context defined by the claims.
1. Eiderdown cover comprising a sheet cover to be wrapped around an eiderdown, characterised in that the eiderdown cover also comprises a tent, which is connected to the cover, which
tent when folded is present against the sheet cover and when unfolded extends from
the sheet cover upwards.
2. Eiderdown cover according to claim 1, characterised in that the tent comprises a ground sheet and wall sheets that form the sidewalls of the
tent when it is unfolded, in which the ground sheet is connected to the sheet cover.
3. Eiderdown cover according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the ground sheet forms part of the sheet cover.
4. Eiderdown cover according to claim 1, 2 or 3, characterised in that the eiderdown cover comprises flaps, which are fastened to the sheet cover by an
edge and are thrown over the tent when it is folded, in which the flaps are detachably
connected to each other and/or the sheet cover by the other edges.
