[0001] The invention's subject relate to the way of producing books in hard covers with
rounded corners destined to be employed in industrial production of blocks and book's
covers using wide range of cover and inside materials.
[0002] There is a well known method showing that in order to produce a hard cover with laminated
cover material based on paper one should design and afterwards prepare a knife punch
destined to a particular cover material with a coat material chosen before. Cover
material based on paper is laminated and afterwards, using knife punch prepared before,
cut out on a press, however during the time of producing covers one wrap the cover's
corners manually and afterwards the cover it taken through the hanging process during
which the cover is joined with a ready block. The material for a block is taken through
a printing process after which the printing takes place and afterwards in sequence
a folding, gathering, sewing, gluing and cutting process takes place.
[0003] The invention's purpose is to create a way allowing to use completely industrial
production of blocks and covers for books using wide range of cover and inside materials
however the way is to be characteristic in high quality of production, in particular
the production of cover with rounded corners.
[0004] A nature of the method which, according to the invention, starts from laminating
the cover material then producing the cover and finally rounding the corners afterwards
such produced cover in the hanging process is joined with a ready block but before
the hanging process the materials for block are taken through the printing process
and afterwards in sequence are taken through a process of folding, gathering, sewing,
gluing and cutting, is characteristic in a fact that after the process of laminating
the cover material, during the process of producing the cover, in single sheets of
laminated cover material one cuts in four edges profiles in three fingers shape using
spinning knives and afterwards in the process of shaping the corners using the machine
one simultaneously bows down in the way of wrapping the profiles in the three fingers
shape, one presses and finally form through high temperature the rounded corners.
[0005] Positive consequences of using the invention allow for a flexible and industrial
production of books in hard cover with rounded corners of a block and a cover using
wide range of cover materials including printed coated paper, laminated, with PCV
cover materials based on paper or latex, woven cover materials based on cotton or
on artificial fibres based on paper, poliuretan cover materials for 0,7 mm to 8 mm
wide, however for the production one may use different kinds of materials including
plain cardboard or cardboard with foam.
[0006] The example of realization the method based on the invention is described on the
scheme in which the figure 1. represents the example of realization single sheets
of laminated cover material with the profile in three fingers shape cut in it's four
corners while the figure 2. shows diagram of the process.

it's realization is based on that the materials for a block is taken through the printing
