A hinged container for transport of materials

Abstract

 The invention refers to protecting of a hinged container against sliding down from the forks of a forklift truck during unloading. This consist in a sub-assembly comprising a movable grip (1) made of a flat bar, fastened to the base (3) of the container, a flange (4) attached to an arm (5), and a pull spring (6) with one end fastened to a beam (7) of the base (3).

Description

Background of the invention

[0001] The subject of present invention is a hinged container for transport of materials, used internally in a plant, suitable especially for forklift truck.

[0002] A hinged container is an important and widely used device for internal transport of different material such as production materials in a plant or those for service activity, and also for removement of waste material, scrap, and garbage.
A hinged container comprises of two sub-assemblies a hinged movable basket for materials and a base enabling its placement on beams such as forks of a forklift truck. For proper and safe use of the hinged container it is important to protect the hinged basket against sliding down from the forks during its unloading.

[0003] The protection means known from practice use a chain or cord fixed to the base of a container and wrapping it round a mast of a forklift truck. The truck operator provides for such protection which always requires getting off the cab. This is strenous and inconvenient to the operator and affects the productivity of the truck operator.

Brief summary of the invention

[0004] The above mentioned inconveniences are excluded in a solution according to the present invention based on a sub-assembly protecting the hinged container against sliding down from the forks which comprises of a movable grip fastened to the base of the container favourably with screws, the grip flange attached to its arm, and a pull spring with one end fastened to the beam of the base and to the arm of the grip with another. In a shut position for loading the basket of the container pulls the pull spring placing the grip on the lower edge of the base of pocket. During unloading the leaning basket releases the spring and pulls up the grip which hooks behind the forks of the forklift truck.
It is favourable when the movable grip is made of a flat bar.

[0005] The invention is friendly for the hinged container and the forklift truck operators improving signifficantly the work safety. This is especially important regarding high health hazards of the container operators resulting from the fact that the container unloading is taking place mostly high above the ground. Thanks to the present invention the forklift truck operator no longer needs to get off the cab to get the hinged container protected against sliding down from the forks or released as this comes self-acting.

Brief description of the drawings

[0006] The embodiment of the invention presents in the Figure 1 a piece of the container base with a sub-assembly protecting the hinged container against sliding down from the forks during unloading. The construction of the protecting sub-assembly is shown in the Figure 2 and the Figure 3 makes a main view of the leaning basket during unloading with the presented protecting sub-assembly.

Claims

1. A hinged container for transport of materials used internally in a plant, suitable especially for forklift truck characterized by having a sub-assembly protecting the hinged container against sliding down from the forks of a forklift truck which comprises of a movable grip (1) fastened to the base (3) of the container, the flange (4) of the grip (1) attached to the arm (5), and a pull spring (6) with one end fastened to the beam (7) of the base (3) and to the arm (5) of the grip (1) with another where in a shut position for loading the basket of the container pulls, with the flange (4) of the grip (1), the pull spring (6) placing the grip (1) below the edge of the pocket base (3).

2. The hinged container according to claim 1 characterized by having the movable grip made of a flat bar.

3. The hinged container according to claim 1 characterized by having the movable grip fastened with screws (2) to the base (3) of the container.
