(54) Motorized coverings for building openings


(57) The invention relates to a mechanism that for instance can be used for driving a plurality of slats in shutters or Venetian blinds. The mechanism converts rotary motion to longitudinal motion of a carriage (6) in a guideway (2), where the guideway (2) comprises a first track (3) for guiding a rotary flexible drive shaft (5) and a second track (4) for guiding a carriage (6), the carriage (6) having means for driving engagement with the drive shaft (5). The invention further relates to folding shutter systems that could be guided and driven with the mechanism according to the invention.
