Description

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0001] As set forth in the statement, the present invention relates to a street equipment for battery reloading in electric vehicles, which imparts to the function it is intended to, several advantages and innovative characteristics, beside others inherent to its arrangement and constitution, which will be described in detail below, assuming a remarkable improvement with regard to currently known systems.

[0002] In particular, the object of the invention is focused on an equipment, applicable to urban zones for public use, intended to facilitate the electric supply for reloading batteries in electric vehicles of all types (cars, trucks, motorbikes, bicycles), which presents the particularity of having technical and structural characteristics allowing its perfect integration in the urban setting without being a new hindering element for the existent and already full street furniture in streets and pavements, and at the same time, providing an easy connection of the vehicle in any of the normal locations where they are usually parked.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] As it is known, the increasingly problematic environmental pollution, along with problems derived from the process for obtaining and the cost of oil, make increasingly obvious the need of directing the manufacture of vehicles towards these ones totally or partially driven by electric power systems. Proof of this is that manufacturers begin to bet on said type of vehicles and they run with increasing frequency in streets and roads.

[0004] However, the biggest problem presented by said vehicles results from the existing difficulty for having suitable places for electric supply allowing the user to reload the batteries in a convenient and easy way, because currently there is no system which responds suitably to said issue.

[0005] In this sense, mention can be made that, beside the particular installations that the user could have fitted in his own home, there are very few public connection points allowing the use by any user.

[0006] Furthermore, said points usually consist of complex and bulky equipments occupying wide zones which must be especially and exclusively intended for that use and which can only provide service to a limited number of vehicles, therefore, if the use of electric vehicles were massively generalized, said systems would be completely unsuitable.

[0007] Furthermore, precisely one of the main drawbacks noticed by the users on considering the possibility of purchasing an electric vehicle is the inconvenience and shortage of suitable supply points.

[0008] Thus, most of commercially available devices allowing the reloading of electric vehicles, are based, generally, on single reloading posts or on wall cabinets for single reloading or multiple reloading posts.

[0009] These systems present the drawback that the cable must be connected to a power outlet located raised (post, wall, etc.) which is dangerous for pedestrians, if the system is placed on the street, because the risk of stumbling with the cable located at waist level. Another drawback is the high cost of the location of this post, as is required a post per vehicle, which increases considerably its installation cost.

[0010] It is obvious, then, the need of having a system which facilitates the massive and public electric power supply for reloading of batteries of electric vehicles, without causing a complex and inconvenient variation of the urban setting, allowing said supply in convenient way and everywhere without forcing the user to change his parking and driving habits in any city or town but, mainly, without having a high installation cost neither being a hinder nor a danger for the other street users, especially pedestrians, being this the main object of the invention proposed herein, and of which there is no proof of the existence of another one with alike technical, structural or configurational characteristics.

EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION

[0011] Thus, the street equipment for battery reloading in electric vehicles proposed by the invention is configured as a remarkable novelty within its field of application, as, according to its implementation and unequivocally, the objects pointed as suitable are achieved, being the distinctive characterizing details suitable enclosed in the final claims accompanying the present specification.

[0012] Specifically, the proposed equipment comprises the placing of a plurality of power outlets inserted into a pavement curb especially designed to this end, being located a power outlet for each vehicle which could be parked in the pavement stretch in which the equipment is incorporated.

[0013] Thus, the cable shall not be located at waist level but at ground level. Furthermore, the existence of post is, advantageously, eliminated, as the whole system operates from a single switch cabinet, which, preferably, is located integrated into a parking meter, of the type already existing for pay parking zones, so that said parking meter, in addition of serving as a pay zone vending machine for parking vehicles, serves at the same time, and only for the user that requests it, as a pay vending machine for reloading.

[0014] To do so, the parking meter will be provided with the required software which will allow the user, upon introduction of the corresponding coins or card, select the supply option, as well as specify the specific outlet requested and the connection period.

[0015] The parking meter will be located on the pavement, close to the reloading zone, which might be of single reloading use or also of parking use, as needed in each case.

[0016] The electric power supply will be taken from the main grid and will be connected to the parking meter, which, by means of the corresponding electronic and electrical devices envisaged within it to this end, will supply electric power to each one of the power outlets envisaged in the curb stretch, being envisaged the existence of as many power supply cables as power outlets.

[0017] The cables are incorporated inside a pipe, from the parking meter to the curb, and said pipe is hidden into an underground civil works chase.

[0018] For its part, the curb consists of a plurality of hollow pieces, in the form of a cradle, with opened ends, and provided with a top cover independent from the rest of the cradle, for allowing, in addition to an easy installation, a comfortable access for eventual maintenance, replacement or repairing works, without needing to break the pavement or the curb.

[0019] Thus, the pipe enters into the curb by its end closest to the parking meter, reaching the power outlet furthest from it, and in each stretch where a power outlet is provided, the pipe has an opening for exiting the cables connecting with said power outlet.

[0020] The power outlets, in addition to having the technical characteristics of power and resistance required for their intended use, as they are located very close to the ground and exposed to the weathering, are of the type having, at least, the following safety characteristics:
  • they are hermetical (to moisture, water, dust, etc.) in the connecting holes,
  • they are provided with a system keeping the fingers from being introduced on them,
  • optionally, they have a protecting cover.

[0021] Furthermore, the joint adjusting the outlet to the curb is also hermetical, avoiding the entry of water or dirt inside the curb.

[0022] The described street equipment for battery reloading in electric vehicles represents, then, an innovative structure with structural and constitutive characteristics unknown so far to this end, reasons which in combination with its practical utility, provide it with enough basis to obtain the exclusivity privilege which is applied for.
