Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Fields of the Invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a glass door hinge, especially to a hinge that prevents the glass door from falling off and includes a stopper for supporting a glass door pivoted on a hinge seat of a fixed door frame so as to achieve safety requirement of the glass door.

2. Descriptions of Related Art

[0002] In our daily lives, from doors to windows and cabinets to furniture, hinges are everywhere. Hinges offer the convenience of being able to easily remove things. Basically, the hinge includes a fixed hinge body, a movable hinge body and a hinge pin. People have higher requirements such as elegant appearance, convenience, and durability on glass door hinges. Due to special properties of glass, at least one hole on the glass door is required for installation of the hinge. And the connection between the hinge and the glass door is a rigid connection. Thus, if a larger force is applied to the door for opening/closing or the door gets slammed, the hinge hole on the glass door is easy to blast and the door is shattered.

[0003] Generally a glass doors hinge set includes two hinges. One hinge is fixed on a fixed glass door while the other hinge is correspondingly assembled on a movable glass door to be pulled and pushed. After being used for a period of time, heavy weight of the glass door will cause the pivot joints of the hinges become unstable and slight misalignment occurs between the hinge pivots or the doors so that the glass door falls. While pulling and pushing the movable glass door, the movable glass door touches the ground and may even have shattered completely.

[0004] Refer to DE20201086U1 and DE20304389U1, a hinge structure is revealed respectively. Both of the hinges revealed have the problems mentioned above. That means instability of the hinge pivots appears after the hinges being used for a period of time. Thus lead to misalignment happens between the hinge pivots or the doors and the glass door falls. Moreover, the waterproof stick disposed between the hinges is always C-shaped. Thus it is difficult to achieve a good water resistance unless the fixed glass door and the movable glass door fit perfectly and closely. However, such close fit between the fixed glass door and the movable glass door has negative effects on effort-saving and easy operation of the movable glass door while being pushed or pulled. Furthermore, once the movable glass door falls, the fit between the fixed glass door and the movable glass door no more exists and good waterproofing is not attained.

[0005] Thus there is a need to invent a novel glass door hinge that overcomes the shortcomings mentioned above and has higher practical value.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] Therefore it is a primary object of the present invention to provide a glass door hinge that includes a stopper for supporting a glass door and being pivoted on a hinge seat of a fixed door frame so as to prevent the glass door from falling.

[0007] In order to achieve above object, a glass door hinge of the present invention consists of a fixed hinge seat disposed on a fixed glass door end and a corresponding movable hinge seat arranged at a movable glass door end that is pulled and pushed. The hinge seats are assembled with each other. And a stopper for holding the fixed glass door end is disposed on a pivot end of the fixed hinge seat. Thereby the stopper supports the fixed glass door for stabilizing load of pivot ends of the fixed hinge seat and of the movable hinge seat. Thus after the movable glass door end being opened and closed for multiple times, the glass door will not fall and safety requirement of the glass door is achieved.

[0008] Moreover, a shore against by a corresponding elastic member is mounted in a main body of the fixed hinge seat. By the depth of a threaded member threaded, the tightness or looseness of the shore against the pivot end of the movable hinge seat is determined so as to adjust the closeness of the movable glass door being opened or closed.

[0009] Furthermore, an integrated waterproof stick is arranged at the movable glass door end being pulled/pushed and the waterproof stick has no joints on the position corresponding to the hinge so as to attain superior waterproof effect.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0011] Refer to Fig. 1, Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, all show explosive views of an embodiment of a glass door hinge according to the present invention. The hinge includes a fixed hinge seat (2) disposed on a fixed glass door end (1) and a corresponding movable hinge seat (4) arranged at a movable glass door end (3) that is pulled or pushed to open or close the glass door. The fixed hinge seat (2) and the movable hinge seat (4) respectively are disposed with a pivot end (21), (41), corresponding to, pivoting and aligning with each other. A projecting base (221) is disposed on a main body (22) of the fixed hinge seat (2). A projecting fastening cylinder (222) is arranged at each of two ends of the base (221) and a slot (223) is mounted between the two projecting fastening cylinders (222). The base (221) is correspondingly mounted with an adjusting member (5) that adjusts the closeness of the movable glass door end (3). A stopper (23) is covered onto the base (221). The stopper (23) is arranged with two projecting sockets (231) corresponding to the two projecting fastening cylinders (222) of the main body (22). A mounting slot (232) extends from each of the projecting sockets (231) while the fixed glass door end (1) is disposed with a mounting hole (11) that corresponds to the projecting socket (231) and the mounting slot (232) of the stopper (23). A fastening member (25) and a pad (24) corresponding to the stopper (23) are provided, both mounted and assembled with the projecting fastening cylinders (222) on the main body (22) of the fixed hinge seat (2).

[0012] The adjusting member (5) mainly includes an accommodation space (51) with threads (511) mounted in the base (221) of the fixed hinge seat (2). A shore (52) against the pivot end (41) of the movable hinge seat (4) and an elastic member (53) against the shore (52) are correspondingly mounted into the accommodation space (51). Then a threaded member (54) is threaded with the threads (511) of the accommodation space (51) correspondingly so as to adjust tightness or looseness the shore (52) that is against the pivot end (41) of the movable hinge seat (4). Thus the closeness of the movable glass door being opened or closed is adjusted.

[0013] Moreover, an integrated waterproof stick (6) is assembled on an edge of the movable glass door end (3) being pulled or pushed, corresponding to pivot ends (21), (41) of the fixed hinge seat (2) and of the movable hinge seat (4). While being assembled, the waterproof stick (6) is not segmented on the position corresponding to the hinge so as to have good water resistance.

[0014] Refer to Fig. 2 to Fig. 5, while being assembled, the pivot ends (21), (41) of the fixed hinge seat (2) and of the movable hinge seat (4) firstly correspond to, align and pivot with each other. Then the fixed glass door end (1) is assembled with the fixed hinge seat (2). The accommodation space (51) in the base (221) of the fixed hinge seat (2) is mounted with the shore (52) against the pivot end (41) of the movable hinge seat (4) and the elastic member (53) against the shore (52) correspondingly. Then the threaded member (54) is threaded with the threads (511) of the accommodation space (51). Next the stopper (23) is assembled with the base (221) of the fixed hinge seat (2) by the projecting fastening cylinders (222) of the main body (22) being sleeved into the projecting sockets (231) of the stopper (23) while the mounting slot (232) of the stopper (23) correspondingly supports and holds the upper and lower ends of the mounting hole (11) of the fixed glass door end (1). Later the pad (24) and the fastening member (25) are attached on the other surface of the fixed glass door end (1) and a threaded member (26) inserts through the fastening member (25), the pad (24), the fixed glass door end (1), and the projecting sockets (231) to be fastened and fixed in the projecting fastening cylinders (222) of the main body (22) of the fixed hinge seat (2). Furthermore, a protection cover (27) is locked on the fastening member (25) correspondingly so as to protect the threaded member (26). Then the movable hinge seat (4) is disposed on the movable glass door end (3) that is pulled/pushed and the integrated waterproof stick (6) is sleeved on the edge of the movable glass door end (3).

[0015] Refer from Fig. 3 to Fig. 7, when the movable glass door end (3) is pulled or pushed quite often, the stopper (23) supports the fixed glass door end (1) for stabilizing load of the pivot ends (21), (41) of the fixed hinge seat (2) and of the movable hinge seat (4). Thus after being opened and closed for multiple times, the movable glass door end (3) will not fall off easily and the safety of the glass door is ensured. As to the waterproof stick (6) sleeved on the movable glass door end (3) to be pulled/pushed, it is designed into an integrated long strip without joints on the position corresponding to the hinge so that the superior waterproof effect is achieved.

[0016] In addition, in the adjusting member (5), the accommodation space (51) with threads (511) is disposed in the base (221) of the fixed hinge seat (2). By the shore (52) against the pivot end (41) of the movable hinge seat (4) and the elastic member (53) against the shore (52) mounted in the accommodation space (51), and the threaded member (54) threaded with the threads (511) of the accommodation space (51), the tightness or looseness of the shore (52) against the pivot end (41) of the movable hinge seat (4) is adjusted and determined. Thus the closeness of the movable glass door being opened or closed is also adjusted.

[0017] In summary, compared with structure of hinges available now, the hinge of the present invention includes the following advantages:
  1. 1. In a glass door hinge of the present invention, the load of the pivot ends of the fixed hinge seat and of the movable hinge seat is stabilized by the design of the stopper that supports the glass door. Thus even being opened and closed for multiple times, the glass door will not fall off and the safety in use of the glass door is ensured.
  2. 2. According to the glass door hinge of the present invention, an integrated waterproof stick is disposed on the movable glass door end being pulled/pushed. While being assembled, the waterproof stick is not segmented on the position corresponding to the hinge so as to attain superior water resistance.
  3. 3. The adjusting member is disposed on the device and the threaded member is threaded into the accommodation space slightly or deeply so as to loose or tighten the shore that is against the pivot end of the movable hinge seat. Thus the closeness of fit between the fixed glass door end and the movable glass door end can be adjusted.

[0018] Additional advantages and modifications will readily occur to those skilled in the art. Therefore, the invention in its broader aspects is not limited to the specific details, and representative devices shown and described herein. Accordingly, various modifications may be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the general inventive concept as defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.
