(57) The present invention relates to the field of recombinant protein expression and discloses a procedure for the production of toxic chimaeric proteins endowed with ribosome-inactivating activity based on the plant toxin Saporin from Saponaria officinalis in the methylotrophic yeast Pichia pastoris.
