Space-saving system for power strips |
(57) The present invention allows the insertion of plugs and power packs, also of very
large size, taking advantage of all four the positions on the multiple socket (10),
by simply releasing the mobile elements (12) by means of the appropriate buttons (13).
In this way the simultaneous insertion of large-size plugs and power packs is favoured.
Further to this, the present power strip is more compact with respect to the power
strips with rotating elements available in the market.
The same result is obtained by means of a spacer to be placed onto all the fixed power
strips available on the market.

Background of the Invention
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of power strips, such as those with three/four/five
sockets available on the market.
[0002] Their use is practical if large-sized power packs are not plugged in; in the latter
case the two plugs contiguous to the one wherein the power pack is plugged in actually
can not be used anymore due to the size of the power packs itself.
Prior Art
[0003] Among the power strips available on the market there exist rotating-sockets power
strips, so that the positioning of power packs and of many plugs is favoured.
[0004] These power strips are anyway of bigger size with respect to the current ones and,
in addition, they provide a technical solution that is very complex to be carried
out; for this reason they also show a higher number of flaws and can obtain quality
and safety certifications with difficulty.
Brief Description of the Drawings
[0005] Fig. 1 schematically illustrates the power strip (10) according to the invention.
Fig. 1a) shows the power strip (10) wherein the mobile elements (12) with their release
buttons (13) and the fixed element (11) with the power cable (14) are evidenced. In
this figure the mobile sockets are shown staggered on different planes.
[0006] Fig. 2 shows the power strip (10) wherein the mobile elements (12) are staggered
on alternating different planes, to hold two power packs (15) leaving enough space
for a better positioning of power packs (15) and plugs (16).
[0007] In Fig. 2a) the power strip (10) is placed on a plane in an alternative configuration.
[0008] Fig. 3 shows a spacer (18) that in Fig. 3a is placed onto in a normal current power
strip, creating the same leap of the shelves for the plugs (16) and the power packs
(15).
[0009] Fig 3b) shows an application of the spacer (18) onto a power strip (19) with the
power packs and the plugs (16).
1. Space-saving system for power strips comprising at least one fixed socket connected
to the power cable, and multiple mobile elements, each provided with a release button
and a 3-pin socket.
2. Space-saving system for power strips according to claim 1, comprising a spacer that
can be inserted onto any fixed element of current power strips.
