[0001] This invention relates to roller shutters and belongs to the technology field of
cabinets, office furniture and house applications. More particularly, the invention
relates to a roller system for a roller shutter system and further, to a roller shutter
system.
[0002] Existing roller shutters for cabinets and office furniture provide the benefits of
aesthetic appearance and handy use but lack of installation ease. A axle of a rolling
curtain and a sliding rail have to be installed at proper positions of cabinets separately
which could not be achieved without a certain level of skill. That has hampered spreading
of product application.
[0003] As the roller system and rolling curtain body of existing roller shutter or rolling
doors are connected, people tend to mix up its directions during installation. A spring
becomes loose after being torsioned from the reverse direction. In addition, the roller
system has to be pulled up and down together with the rolling curtain body. When pulling
circles are not made sufficiently, it becomes complicated to dismantle the rolling
door if the door is pulled for the second time. Moreover, the rolling curtain body
is messed up and noises occur when it is pulled.
[0004] The present invention is designed to overcome the shortcomings of existing roller
shutter systems. In particular, the invention aims at simplifying the installation
of roller shutters.
[0005] This technical problem is solved by a roller system according to claim 1 and a roller
shutter system including such a roller system according to claim 4. Advantageous embodiments
are laid down in further claims.
[0006] The new roller system can be installed rigidly onto wooden cabinet side plates of
rolling doors in a short time. Moreover, the roller system allows for an easy-to-install
roller shutter or rolling door.
[0007] The roller system for a roller shutter system and roller shutter system of the present
invention have the following advantages with regard to the above-explained prior art
technology.
[0008] The roller system of the present invention can be disposed at the position of the
front axis, completely separated from the rolling curtain body.
[0009] It is bound secure by a rope fixed on the reeling roller of the roller system and
the curtain clip at the end of the rolling curtain body. By that means, when the rolling
curtain body is pulled up and down, the friction between it and the roller system
is eliminated. The roller system disposed at the front axis so that it is convenient
to pull it. The right roller sleeving and retainer are joined by the way of a clutch
at the right end of the roller system, in case the roller has not been pulled enough
circles, one has only to adjust the clutch slightly. Furthermore, the reeling rollers
are at the utmost two ends of the roller prevent the existing product's aesthetic
disadvantage of a rope that is visible in the middle.
[0010] The roller shutter of the present invention may comprise left and right side plates
structured with a curtain sheet sliding groove which may be joined closely with the
sliding rail on the vertical bar, so that curtain sheets could slide smoothly through
the rail on the vertical bar. The roller shutter joins the vertical bar, overhead
horizontal bar and the left and right side plates using dovetails. The assembly of
the whole roller system is completed thus. Then the completed unit is installed to
the ready-made rail of the cabinet.
[0011] The invention will be described in greater detail with reference to the accompanying
drawings. The drawings show in

[0012] To further demonstrate the technical means by which the present invention achieves
its aims, detailed implementation methods, structures, characteristics and performance
of the roller system and the roller shutter system of the present invention will be
explained with reference to the accompanying drawings and particular embodiments as
follows.
[0013] In the embodiments shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, a roller system for a roller shutters
system of the present invention comprises a first bar 10 which is made of metal, e.g.
iron or aluminium or material of comperative stiffness, a spring 20 encasing the first
bar 10, and a tube 30 encasing the spring 20. Further, the roling system comprises
a tube sliding-proof rubber 1a, a left roller sleeving 2a, and mating reeling rollers
4a and 4b mounted in sequences on a left end of the tube 30, Another tube sliding-proof
rubber 1b, right roller sleeving 2b, roller retainers 3a and 3b, and mating reeling
rollers 4c and 4d are mounted in sequences on a right end of the tube 30. The spring
20 comprises a hook 21 at a left end connecting to the left roller sleeving 2a. The
tube sliding-proof rubbers 1a and 1b comprise a hollow tube on the outer diameter
respectively for one second bar 5 of metal, e.g. iron or aluminium or material of
comperative stiffness.
[0014] Fig.3 is a perspective view of a rolling curtain body of the present invention. The
rolling curtain body comprises multiple rectangular curtain sheets 40 connecting with
each other. Preferably, the curtain sheets 40 are made of transparent material such
as glass. However, they can be made of other materials such as metal, wood or plastic
or synthetic material. Two ends of the curtain sheet 40 plug into curtain clips 6a
and 6b respectively, while the two ends of an adjacent curtain sheet plug into curtain
clips 6c and 6d respectively. The curtain clips have a plug and a jack designed such
that the plug inserts into the jack of adjacent curtain clips. By the means, two pieces
of curtain sheets are further connected. A rectangular handle 50 is assembled at a
curtain sheet 40 which is at the end of the rolling curtain body. The handle 50 is
put on a cover cap 51 covering edges of it.
[0015] Embodiments in Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 show that two ends of the above-stated roller system
are fixed between a left side plate 7a and a right side plate 7b. A few positions
on the left side plate 7a and right side plate 7b stick out with jacks. Two ends of
the above-stated first bar 10 of the roller system insert into respective jacks on
left side plate 7a and right side plate 7b. Two ends of the second bar 5 on the tube
sliding-proof rubber insert into respective jacks on left side plate 7a and right
side plate 7b. In this way, the roller system is enabled to be fixed between the left
side plate 7a and right side plate 7b. As seen from Fig. 5, the rolling curtain body
coiling around the roller system, the integrity of a rolling door takes shape.
[0016] Fig. 6 is a perspective view of a roller shutter of the present invention which is
shown as a rolling door. It is preferably made of transparent material, e.g. glass.
Fig. 10(a), 10(b) and 10(c) show the assembly process of the rolling door of the present
invention. Compared with the existing rolling door's complicated installation method
that the rolling curtain body has to match with a cabinet, the improved rolling door
of the present invention is more operable. What is needed to do is installing aluminum
sliding rails 8a and 8b onto the two sides of wooden cabinet and assembling the above-stated
roller door system to the sliding rails 8a and 8b. The rolling door of the present
invention comprises one piece of overhead horizontal bar 60 at the front door and
two pieces of vertical bars 70 on the two sides of the front door. On top of the vertical
bar 70 is covered with rubber cap 80. The rolling door of the present invention comprising
that the left and right side plates are structured with grooves which join closely
with the sliding rails on the vertical bars, such that the curtain sheets could slide
smoothly through the rail on the vertical bars. The rolling door joins the vertical
bars, overhead horizontal bar and the left and right side plates using dovetails.
The assembly of the whole roller system is completed thus. Install the completed unit
to the ready-made rails of the cabinet. Up to present, a rolling door has been installed
completely.
[0017] An assembly process of the roller system for roller sutters the roller shutter, i.e.
rolling door is further explained next:
First of all, the spring 20 is put into and at a center section of the tube 30. The
bar 10 is inserted into the spring 20 such that the tube 30 is at the center section
of the bar 10. Then the left roller sleeving 2a is assembled on a left portion of
the bar 10 so that the left ends of the spring 20 and the tube 30 are capped in it.
At the left end of the spring 20 there is a hook 21 hooking the left roller sleeving
2a. In addition, the tube 30 hides its left end in the left roller sleeving 2a and
is tightened with a screw positioning at the groove of the left roller sleeving 2a.
A similar arrangement is provided at the right side of the bar 10. A right roller
sleeving 2b is assembled on a right end portion of the bar 10 so that right ends of
the spring 20 and the tube 30 are capped in it. In this way the core of the roller
system is completed. Subsequently, the roller retainers 3a and 3b are installed on
left and right ends of the roller core, respectively, against the roller sleevings
2a and 2b. The roller retainers 3a and 3b are screwed on the first bar 10, such that
the roller core is defined at the center of first bar 10. Finally reeling rollers
4a, 4b, 4c and 4d are mounted at the left and right end portions of first bar 10.
[0018] The reeling rollers 4a, 4b, 4c and 4d rotate as an integrity with the bar 10. The
roller sleevings 2a and 2b rotate as another integrity with the tube 30 and spring
20. That is why the tube sliding-proof rubbers 1a and 1b are fixed on the latter integrity.
The second bar 5 is wedged between the left side plate 7a and the right side plate
7b such that the latter integrity stays still, while the former integrity is driven
rotating (see Fig. 4). Through this way, the rolling curtain body is brought into
motion when a rope of the reeling roller is applied bounding the rolling curtain body.
[0019] The roller system as described above is handy and fast to mount onto the side plates
of a cabinet, office furniture or house applications for installing a roller shutter
system. The roller shutter system can be used for closing any kind of openings, e.g.
in furniture or buildings.
