[0001] The invention relates to a wing for furniture of various kind and the like for inhabited
buildings, in particular for kitchens, bathrooms and rooms, which is made with a different
structure and simple construction.
[0002] The present wings for furniture of various kind and the like for inhabited buildings
are constituted substantially by a set of stanchions and peripheral crosspieces joined
with one or more vertical central panels made of wooden materials or solid materials
of various kind, to which some handles, hanging elements and the like are fixed, and
by elements for fixing to the furniture which are fixed by screws, and require firstly
the manufacture of these single components separated from each other, which must be
realized with considerable thicknesses for ensuring the needed sturdiness and mechanical
strength of the wings, and then the reciprocal assembling of these components, with
a series of different assembling steps, which require long manufacturing times and
to employ considerable labour and complex machinery, making expensive such wings.
[0003] The object of the present invention is to realize a wing for furniture of various
kind and the like for inhabited buildings, in particular for kitchens, bathrooms and
rooms, in a different manner and with a constructive structure simpler than the present
one, which gives no more rise to the above mentioned inconveniences, still ensuring
always the needed sturdiness and mechanical strength, and which improves the inhabitable
comfort and provides a longer life duration.
[0004] This wing is made with the constructive characteristics substantially described,
with particular reference to the enclosed claims of the present patent.
[0005] The present invention will be better understood from the following description, given
by way of a not limiting example only, and with reference to the accompanying drawings,

in a further embodiment thereof.
[0006] In the above Figures, it is represented a wing 10 for furniture of various kind and
the like for inhabited buildings, in particular for kitchens, bathrooms and rooms,
adapted to be mounted into furniture, furniture elements, furnishings and the like.
[0007] Such wing is substantially formed by at least a flat plate 11 made of metal, and
particularly but not exclusively of aluminium, or by plastic material, wooden material
or rigid material having high sturdiness and mechanical strength, reduced thickness
and the desired shape, in the inner surface of which there are applied some elements
for fixing and supporting such plate on to the relative furniture, furniture element,
furnishings and the like, which will be better explained later on, while on to the
vertical outer surface of such rigid plate it is applied easily and quickly, by per
se known means such as for example adhesive material, screws, bolts, rivets and the
like, a covering panel 12 having the desired thickness and shape and the required
appearance of the wing, which is manufactured separately from the plate 11 and made
with the preferred decorative material such as for example wood, glass, plastic, etc...,
in order to decorate the wing 10 and consequently the furniture, furniture element,
furnishings etc.. to which it is assembled, and if needed on the front part of such
panel there may be also applied one or more handles (not indicated) for being caught
by the persons, and also any other possible decorative or functional elements.
[0008] In order to be able to fix said wing 10 to any kind of furniture, furniture element,
furnishings etc.. being on sale, the utilized fixing and supporting elements may be
of various types, such as for example commonly used hinges 14 adequately modified
as described hereinafter, or other elements of traditional kind. In the example illustrated
of the hinges (see Figs. 4 and 5), each one of them is constituted advantageously
by two flat plates 15 and 16 articulated to each other, of which the plate 15 is fixed
to the furniture, furniture element, furnishings etc... with fixing elements of traditional
type, while the plate 16 is provided with a projected anchorage pin 17 which is inserted
through a corresponding through slot 18 provided on to the rigid flat plate 11 and
stuck into this position. Thanks to the hinges 14, the rigid flat plate 11 is so supported
by the relative furniture, furniture element, furnishings etc... and may be displaced
with respect to these latter from the one to the other one of its open and closed
positions, together with its covering panel 12, and the hinges are also dimensioned
for supporting the entire weight of the so realized wing, thereby eliminating the
risk of undesired bendings of the same wing.
[0009] In the Figures there are shown by way of example several ways for applying the flat
plate 11 to the relative furniture, furniture element, furnishings etc...
[0010] In the Figs. 1 and 3 it is noted that the hinges 14 are fixed to the flat plate 11
also with an additional hole 19, into which the fixing screws, rivets and the like
etc...(not indicated) are inserted, which are inserted also through corresponding
holes 20 of the flat plate 11, while in the Figs. 2 and 6 it is noted the fixing of
the hinge through the relative through slot 18, as described above.
[0011] In the Figs. 10 and 11 it is noted a hinge 14 made without projected pin 17 and provided
with a flat plate 16 having two through holes 21 for inserting some screws, bolts,
rivets and the like (not indicated) through there and corresponding holes 22 provided
through the flat plate 11 (see Figs. 8 and 9). Finally, in the Fig. 12 it is noted
a supporting plate 23, having a different shape, which in this case is curved instead
of being flat as previously, and which may be obviously made also with shapes different
than those indicated solely by way of example, thus without departing from the protection
sphere of the present invention.
[0012] The wing realized with the combination of at least a plate 11 or 23, made with reduced
thickness and fixable in a simple and quick manner to the relative furniture, furniture
element, furnishings and the like, and of at least an outer covering panel 12 therefore
involves considerable advantages in term of simpler working steps and shorter times
for manufacturing and assembling and/or replacing the furniture wings, still ensuring
always the needed sturdiness and mechanical strength of the so obtained wings.
1. Wing for furniture of various kind and the like for inhabited buildings, in particular
for kitchens, bathrooms and rooms, adapted to be displaced from the one to the other
one of the opened and closed positions thereof with respect to the relative furniture,
furniture element, furnishings, etc..., characterized by the combination of support elements (11, 23) applied in a hinged manner to the relative
furniture, furniture element, furnishings, etc.. by means of hinges (14) or similar
hinging elements, and decorative outer elements (12) having the desired shape and
appearance of the wing, which are joined frontally to said support elements (11, 23).
2. Wing according to claim 1, characterized in that said support elements comprise at least a rigid plate (11, 23) made of metal, and
particularly but not exclusively aluminium, or plastic material, wooden material or
rigid material with high sturdiness and mechanical strenght, having reduced thickness
and the desired shape, on the inner surface of which there are applied said hinges
(14) or similar hinging elements, and on the outer surface of which there are applied
said decorative elements (12).
3. Wing according to claim 2, characterized in that said rigid plate is made like a flat plate (11) or a curved plate (23) or a plate
with a different shape.
4. Wing according to claim 3, characterized in that said decorative elements comprise at least a covering panel (12) having the desired
thickness and shape, and the required appearance of the wing, and made separately
from said plate (11, 23), with the preferred decorative material such as for example
wood, glass, plastic etc...
5. Wing according to claim 4, characterized in that said hinge (14) is of traditional type and shaped in a way to be coupled with corresponding
