(54) BAG

(57) This invention relates to a bag characterised in that it includes no stitching, said bag being formed by assembling two separate pieces of fabric, joined laterally by selvages and transversely by weft yarns. One of the transverse edges is die-cut to form the mouth of the bag, while the upper zone of the assembly is die-cut to produce the handles.

Description

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

Bag

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] There are different types of bags, manufactured in different materials, the most commonly used being plastics, cloth and paper.

[0002] Plastic bags are very economic and are widely used, generally for a single use, such as for instance when purchasing in stores, mainly in supermarkets and similar shops. This material is not biodegradable and creates a serious waste problem.

[0003] Paper bags are also economic, but they are not very strong, thus their use is limited.

[0004] Regarding cloth bags, they are the most ecological and are quite strong, though their handicap is their high cost, especially due to the stitching operations they require in the manufacturing process.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] The purpose of this invention is a cloth bag that presents the benefits of this material and is obtained at a low cost, to compete with plastic bags, being considered practically a single-use bag, even though due to its construction, it can be used several times.

[0006] This bag is characterised by having no stitching, as it is practically obtained directly from the loom, constituted by two separate pieces of cloth joined at the side by the same selvedge and with regard to the two transversal edges, they are joined together with threads of weft in the loom itself, obtaining a rectangular piece in which the mouth upper and handles are created by the corresponding die cuts.

[0007] These and other characterizing features will be best made apparent by the following detailed description whose understanding will be made easier by the accompanying sheet of drawings showing a practical embodiment being cited only by way of example not limiting the scope of the present invention.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0008] In the drawings:

Figure 1 illustrates an elevation view of the bag object of the invention;

Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line II-II of Figure 1, and

Figure 3 is a longitudinal section taken along the line III-III of Figure 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0009] According to drawings, the bag (1) is made of two separate pieces of cloth (2 and 3) Initially rectangular, which are joined at their sides by their selvedges (4 and 5) formed in the same loom where the two pieces of cloth are manufactured.

[0010] The edges (6 and 7) of the two pieces of cloth (2 and 3) form a single piece of cloth by joining them with threads from the weft (8).

[0011] The bag's mouth (9) and handles (10, 11) are obtained by die cutting (12, 13 and 14) made in the upper area of the unit.

[0012] If you want a bag without handles, i.e., like a sack that could also be used for example, as a pillowcase, the unit will have a transversal die cut as indicated in reference (15), close to one of its transversal edges.

[0013] The invention can within its essentiality be put into practice in other embodiments differing only in detail from the one having been described above only by way of example, said other embodiments also falling within the scope of the protection being claimed. This bag may thus be manufactured in any shape and size, as all of this is contained within the spirit of the claims.

Claims

1. A bag that is characterised by having no stitches, composed of two separate pieces of cloth joined at the sides with their selvedges and transversally by the junction of the two pieces of cloth by means of strands from the weft, one of the transversal edges being die-cut to form the mouth of the bag.

2. A bag, according to claim 1 characterised in that the handles are obtained by a die cutting made in the upper area of said unit.
