(57) The invention relates to dispensing slow release chemicals for inhibiting the formation of scale, corrosion or other precipitates in hydrocarbon wells. The chemical is provided into a dispenser positioned for at least nearly continuous exposure to liquid preferably in the active water phase. The active water phase is generally just below the inlet into production tubing.
