1. Field of Invention
[0001] The invention relates to pillows and more particularly to a hollow pillow having
a concave top and a grooved bottom with improved characteristics including enhanced
circulation.
2. Description of Related Art
[0002] Pillow is a large cushion support for the head, usually used while sleeping in a
bed, or for the body as used on a couch or chair. Pillows with novel filler for improving
health (i.e., health pillows) are commercially available. However, their health effects
are not well proved.
[0003] The inventor is aware of the above problem and a need for an improved pillow. The
inventor thus spends a lot of time to device a health pillow in order to contribute
significantly to the advancement of the art.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0004] It is therefore one object of the invention to provide an elastomeric pillow comprising
a concave top surface; a bottom surface comprising a transverse groove having two
open ends; and a hollow for communicating with the top surface and the groove, wherein
the hollow is not centered with respect to each of the groove and the top surface.
[0005] The above and other objects, features and advantages of the invention will become
apparent from the following detailed description taken with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0007] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 8B, a pillow 1 in accordance with a preferred embodiment
of the invention comprises the following components as discussed in detail below.
[0008] The pillow 1 is made of an elastomeric material (e.g., elastomer). The pillow 1 comprises
a concave top surface 11 having curved front and rear ends, a transverse groove 13
on a flat bottom surface 14, the groove 13 having two open ends, and a hollow 12 of
substantially rectangular section in communication with the top surface 11 and the
groove 13. The hollow 12 is not centered with respect to each of the groove 13 and
the top surface 11, i.e., the hollow 12 being off center.
[0009] Referring to FIGS. 3A and 3B specifically, a person A may have back of the head A1
rested on the hollow 12 and the face A2 facing upward while sleeping in a bed (not
shown). It also shows flow of air through the hollow 12 for circulation. It is contemplated
by the invention that a good sleep can be rendered.
[0010] Referring to FIGS. 4A and 4B specifically, the person A may have the back of the
head A1 rested between the hollow 12 and one side of the top surface 11 and the face
A2 facing upward while sleeping in a bed (not shown). It is contemplated by the invention
that a good sleep can be rendered.
[0011] Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6 specifically, the person A may have one cheek rested between
the hollow 12 and one side of the top surface 11 and the face A2 facing the other
side of the top surface 11 while sleeping in a bed (not shown). It is contemplated
by the invention that a good sleep can be rendered.
[0012] Referring to FIG. 7 specifically, it shows a 90-degree turning of the head A1 while
sleeping in a bed with the face A2 facing upward being changed into facing the other
side of the top surface 11. It is contemplated by the invention that a good sleep
can be rendered.
[0013] Referring to FIGS. 8A and 8B specifically, the person A may have the face A2 rested
on the hollow 12 while sleeping in a bed (not shown). It also shows flow of air through
the hollow 12 for circulation. It is contemplated by the invention that a good sleep
can be rendered.
[0014] While the invention herein disclosed has been described by means of specific embodiments,
numerous modifications and variations could be made thereto by those skilled in the
art without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention set forth in the
claims.
