(54) A beverage dispensing assembly

(57) The present invention relates to a beverage dispensing assembly to be used in combination with a tapping cock (30) including a tapping cock housing (32) and a tap handle (34) operable between a first position and a second position. The first position constitutes a non-beverage dispensing position and the second position constitutes a beverage dispensing position. The beverage dispensing assembly comprises two separate elements (10,20), the first element being a dispensing line (10) having a dispensing end (11) and a keg connection end, the dispensing line (10) being sealed at the dispensing end (11) by a sealing closure (12), and the second element being a valve element (20) to be positioned and received in the tapping cock housing (32) operated by the tap handle (34) for causing the valve element (20) to be closed in the first position of the tap handle (34) and to be opened in the second position. The dispensing line (10) and the valve element (20) are connected together by operating the tap handle (34) from the first position to the second position causing the sealing closure (12) at the dispensing end (11) of the dispensing line (10) to be opened and at the same time causing the dispensing line (10) to be irreversibly joined to and arrested relative to the valve element (20).
