(54) Machine for applying a packaging hood on an object


(57) A hooding machine (10) for an object (14) comprises a fitting unit (13) which is able to fit a hood of heat-shrinkable film with its open end over an object which is positioned in a hooding zone (15) of the machine. The fitting unit comprises grippers (37) for gripping the edge of the said open end of the hood and air blowing nozzles (59) which are directly positioned on these grippers so as to blow air into the hood at least during operation of the fitting unit.
