(54) Battery module having battery cell holder


(57) A battery module includes a first set of battery cells stacked in a first direction and a second set of battery cells stacked in the first direction, and the first and second sets of battery cells are arranged in a second direction and face in opposed directions relative to each other. The battery module also includes at least one battery cell holder between adjacent battery cells in at least one of the first and second sets of battery cells stacked in the first direction. The battery cell holder includes an insulating plate between the adjacent battery cells in the at least one of the first and second sets of battery cells stacked in the first direction, and a plurality of guides protruding from edges of the insulating plate to extend in the first direction over the adj acent battery cells in overhanging relationship therewith.
