(54) Contact detector with piezoelectric sensor

(57) The invention relates to a contact detector, comprising a deformable detector having a first end and a second end; and a piezoelectric sensor secured to the first end of said detector, whereby contact with said detector will produce body deformation in at least portions of said detector and induce strain into said piezoelectric sensor. The said deformable detector further comprises a polycarbonate resin strip having at least one slot cut in a central portion of the polycarbonate resin strip. The invention also relates to a respective method.
