Field of the Art
[0001] The present invention relates to air driving means used in ventilation systems, proposing
a helico centrifugal tubular fan intended for being intercalated in an air duct, with
structural features determining an advantageous embodiment of soundproofing.
State of the Art
[0002] In both domestic and industrial ventilation systems, it is important to prevent the
noise which the fans produce when operating from propagating through the structures
supporting the system, which is conventionally solved by arranging the fans with soundproofing
solutions.
[0003] On the other hand, axial tubular fans are known which are intercalated in air circulation
ducts, the body of these fans formed by a cylindrical casing in which an air driving
element and the operating elements for the operation thereof are housed, said casing
being connected by its ends to an air circulation duct.
[0004] With this such fans high air driving performance for ventilation is achieved, particularly
with those having a helico centrifugal propeller, but the installation assembly of
these fans intercalated in air ducts favors the transmission of the noise of the operation
through said air circulation ducts.
[0005] To solve this problem, the conventional solution that is adopted is to arrange independent
silencers of the fan itself, which silencers are incorporated on the sections of the
air duct to which the fan is connected or intercalated between said sections of the
air duct and the fan, in front of and behind the fan, which determines a considerable
longitudinal extension of the fan, said extension further being determined by the
diameter of the air duct in which the fan is arranged since a longer length of the
silencers is required the larger the diameter of the duct.
Object of the Invention
[0006] A helico centrifugal fan is proposed according to the invention, developed with structural
features determining an advantageous soundproofing arrangement with respect to conventional
embodiments.
[0007] This fan object of the invention comprises a structural assembly formed by an air
convergence cone and an air divergence cone which determine connections for connecting
to air ducts, an air driving propeller associated with a drive motor being included
in the air divergence cone, whereas a silencer is intercalated between the two cones
determining an intermediate conduit between both.
[0008] A fan is thus obtained which is suitably soundproofed with a reduced longitudinal
dimension, since the silencer arranged between the structural cones has a smaller
diameter than the outer openings of said cones and therefore it requires less length
in comparison with the silencers arranged in extension of said outer openings in conventional
fans.
[0009] The silencer arranged between the structural cones of the fan can further be determined
with an extension onto one or both structural cones, whereby achieving an even greater
soundproofing effect with the same fan longitudinal dimension.
[0010] The possibility of incorporating a complimentary silencer with respect to the outer
opening of the air divergence cone of the fan is also provided, said silencer being
formed by two concentric cylindrical bodies, assembled on the structural casing itself
in that output part of the fan, whereby further increasing the soundproofing of the
fan without increasing the longitudinal dimension thereof.
[0011] Therefore, said fan object of the invention has very advantageous constructive and
functional features, acquiring its own identity and preferable character with respect
to conventional fans of the same type.

Detailed Description of the Invention
[0013] The object of the invention relates to a helico centrifugal fan of the type comprising
a tubular casing (1), inside which there is housed a structural assembly made up of
an air convergence cone (2) and an air divergence cone (3), which determine an air
passage duct, an air driving propeller (4) associated with a drive motor (5) being
housed in the air divergence cone (3), all of this forming an assembly intended for
being intercalated in an air duct, to which the ends of the tubular casing (1) are
coupled.
[0014] Conventional fans of this type are complimented with silencers (6) arranged in extension
of the ends, as observed in Figure 1, for preventing the operating noise from propagating
through the application air duct, said silencers (6) necessarily having a length proportional
to the diameter of the air duct in which the fan is arranged, which generally means
that the has an excessive longitudinal dimension.
[0015] The helico centrifugal fan proposed according the invention is formed with the air
convergence cone (2) and the air divergence cone (3) axially separated, including
a silencer (7) between them arranged between the narrowest parts thereof, as observed
in Figure 2.
[0016] The silencer (7) is thus included inside the fan assembly, in an area of smaller
diameter than the coupling ends for being coupled to the application air duct, so
said silencer (7) requires a much short length than the silencers (6) arranged in
extension of the end of conventional helico centrifugal fans do.
[0017] In that arrangement, the soundproofing silencer (7) according to this solution of
the invention, can be arranged such that it extends onto the air convergence cone
(2) of the fan, as shown in Figure 4, or onto the air divergence cone (3), as shown
in Figure 5, or onto both cones (2 and 3), as shown in Figure 6, a greater soundproofing
effect with the same total length of the fan being achieved with these forms.
[0018] In addition, the possibility of incorporating a complimentary silencer (8) at the
outlet of the fan assembled on the tubular casing (1) is provided, said complimentary
silencer (8) comprising two concentric cylindrical bodies (8.1 and 8.2), which are
in correspondence outside and inside the air passage, whereby increasing the soundproofing
of the fan maintaining its structural longitudinal dimension.
