Technical field of the invention
[0001] The present invention belongs to the technical field of methods for producing footwear,
specifically for producing bactericidal, anti-odor footwear.
Background of the invention
[0002] The sweating is a process that consists of the release of a salty liquid from the
sweat glands of the body. This process is essential in order to help to stay the foot
cool and is for this reason for which this should not be avoided but it should be
eliminated from the footwear to keep the foot dry, clean and in perfect conditions
of hygiene.
[0003] Until now most of the anti-odor and bactericidal methods consist of a bath of activated
charcoal eventually together with, in some cases, a fungicidal agent, the action of
which is limited to the inner bottom of the shoe, which is receptor of a part of the
sweating but not of all.
[0004] That is, so far, the way of protecting the footwear against the smell of sweating
and bacteria has been by means of deodorant insoles. These insoles are covered by
a latex foam with active charcoal. This material has as a property the absorption
of odors. The proportion of active charcoal in the compound of latex and air tends
to be 25% by mass, this being incorporated as a burden of solids to the compound.
[0005] These methods have the disadvantage of being limited only to a part of the footwear,
the insole, so the result of protected area does not use to be more than 20%.
[0006] In addition, hitherto the compounds of latex and activated charcoal were formed by
a foam with higher or lower amount of air, and on the basis of the different air/latex/charcoal
combinations it was achieved a greater or lesser density and thickness, but never
a thickness under 3-5 mm, which in practice made it viable for the production of insoles
which are attached in a fixed or overlaid way to the insole of the shoe, but not to
be used as a lining in all the inner surface of a shoe, since the result would be
a shoe of two-or three sizes greater than normal.
[0007] The bactericidal and fungicidal treatment only could be applied by mechanical spraying
or by dripping in a bath and its effectiveness was dramatically reduced over time,
becoming ineffective after subjecting the shoe to a washing process.
[0008] It was therefore desirable a method of production that would achieve a completely
bactericidal, anti-odor footwear avoiding the disadvantages existing in the previous
footwear in the state of the art.
Description of the invention
[0009] The present invention solves the problems existing in the state of the art by a method
for producing bactericidal, anti-odor footwear, which includes the steps of covering
the inner face of a breathable footwear lining with a bactericidal, anti-odor substance
that contains active charcoal which consists of activated charcoal with silver-based
biocidal agents. Subsequently said lining is affixed to the inside of the footwear
giving to this an integrally anti-odor, bactericidal protection.
[0010] The bactericidal, anti-odor substance is made in the form of paste, or aerosol, and
the covering of the inner face of the lining with this can be done by stamping or
mechanical spraying.
[0011] By means of this method, the result of protected surface is 100%, because the lining
covers the entire interior of the footwear, and in this case, the proportion of active
charcoal in the biocidal compound reaches the 90% of the mass.
[0012] The covering of the lining with the bactericidal, anti-odor substance is carried
out without air by foaming, which barely increases the thickness of said lining 0.10
mm, and their mechanical properties are not modified.
[0013] The present invention also includes as an object the footwear obtained using the
previously described method. Therefore, the footwear of the present invention has
a breathable lining, the inner face of which has a bactericidal, anti-odor substance
which in turn is formed by active charcoal.
[0014] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, additionally the bactericidal,
anti-odor substance has silver, element that makes that the biocidal, antibacterial,
and fungicidal properties are permanent, not losing its effectiveness over time as
it was the case in the state of the art, and not being eliminated by the washing of
the footwear.
[0015] Therefore, thanks to the embodiment of the present invention, the footwear has bactericidal
properties avoiding the proliferation of bacterial colonies, and also due to the activated
charcoal effect the bad odors produced by sweating are absorbed, not eliminating this
property with the washing of the footwear. In addition, the resulting footwear is
malleable, since the result of the covering of the bactericidal, anti-odor substance
does not give rigidity to the lining, this being able to adapt to all kinds of shapes
and volumes.
Description of the figures
[0016] Next in order to facilitate the understanding of the invention, in an illustrative,
but not limitative way, an embodiment of the invention which refers to a series of
figures is described.
Figure 1 shows the realization of a shoe object of the present invention already ended
in which it can be seen the lining on the inside of this.
Figure 2 is a view of the lining affixed to the inside of the footwear in the Figure
1.
Figure 3 shows the lining that covers the area of the insole of the footwear in the
Figure 1, in which said lining has been lifted to show its inner face with the bactericidal,
anti-odor covering.
Figure 4 shows the lining that covers the area of cut of the footwear in the Figure
1, in which said lining has been lifted to show its inner face with the bactericidal,
anti-odor covering.
Figure 5 shows a realization of the lining with the bactericidal, anti-odor coating
disposed on a footwear insole.
[0017] In these figures reference to a set of elements is made, in which:
- 1. breathable footwear lining
- 2. inner face of the lining
- 3. bactericidal, anti-odor substance
Description of the preferred embodiments of the invention
[0018] The object of the present invention is a method for producing bactericidal, anti-odor
footwear in which are included the steps of covering the inner face 2 of a breathable
footwear lining 1 with a bactericidal, anti-odor substance 3 that contains active
charcoal and then affixing the lining 1 to the inside of the footwear.
[0019] This covering of the inner face 2 of the lining 1 with the bactericidal, anti-odor
substance 3 can be carried out by a method of stamping, if the substance 3 is in paste
format, and otherwise by mechanical spraying procedure, if the substance 3 is in the
form of aerosol.
[0020] Another object of the present invention is the bactericidal, anti-odor footwear obtained
using the previous method. This footwear, as it can be seen in the figures, is formed
by a breathable lining 1, in the inner side 2 of which has an affixed bactericidal,
anti-odor substance 3, which has active charcoal.
[0021] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the bactericidal, anti-odor
substance 3 has built-in silver, which achieves that biocidal properties are permanent.
[0022] In the figures it can be seen various examples for affixing the lining 1 with the
bactericidal, anti-odor substance 3 to various parts of the interior of footwear,
such as the affixing to the cut, or to the insole.
[0023] Once described the invention in a clear manner, it is understood that the particular
embodiments described above are susceptible to detail modifications provided that
they do not after the fundamental principle and the essence of the invention.
