<description id="desc" lang="en">
<heading id="h0001"><b>OBJECT OF THE INVENTION</b></heading>
<p id="p0001" num="0001">The present invention refers to a cot for babies. It has been conceived and made to possess advantages and new features compared to other cots used for the same purpose.</p>
<p id="p0002" num="0002">The object of the invention is to achieve a cot with a simple structure, easy to assemble and disassemble, with the minimum number of components and the optimum stability in use.</p>
<heading id="h0002"><b>BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION</b></heading>
<p id="p0003" num="0003">Cots for young children or babies must be structured so that they are stable in use. Such stability is achieved by having a structure that is complex and difficult to disassemble, whereas when the cot has a simple structure, it normally lacks stability in use.</p>
<p id="p0004" num="0004">That is, there are no known cots for babies that are both simple and also provide adequate stability, and that enable simple assembly and disassembly.<!-- EPO <DP n="2"> --></p>
<heading id="h0003"><b>DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION</b></heading>
<p id="p0005" num="0005">The cot of the invention has been conceived to resolve the problems explained above, based on a simple but effective solution.</p>
<p id="p0006" num="0006">More specifically, the cot for babies of the invention is made of a framework comprising an upper rectangular frame with rounded corners and two double legs on each side, which are assembled on the frame by means of plugging the top ends of these legs into orifices arranged for this purpose in the underside face of the frame.</p>
<p id="p0007" num="0007">This framework, which is rigid when assembled, is completed with a fabric rectangular prismatic sack, where the opening is folded towards the outside to define a kind of roll-over edge, and that is closed by two zips to accommodate and fix this sack to the upper frame of the general framework of the cot.</p>
<p id="p0008" num="0008">As any cot, it includes a bed base constituted by a smooth and rigid plate, which is supported on a pair of cross-struts that are fixed between the legs, so that the bed base supports the mattress with its cover.</p>
<p id="p0009" num="0009">The plugging of the legs to the bed base is made by complementary clip elements. The fixing and immobilisation of the plate constituting the bed base is made by pegs that are fitted to the lower face of the bed base, passing through slits, by way of eyelets, in the base of the sack, with clipping being made to the cross-struts, previously referred to and set between the legs.</p>
<p id="p0010" num="0010">The cross-struts link the two legs firmly between them, so that the basic elements of the general framework are the frame and two pairs of<!-- EPO <DP n="3"> --> legs with their cross-struts, which achieve security with respect to the general structure.</p>
<p id="p0011" num="0011">The support of the plate that constitutes the bed base on the cross-struts provides optimum stability to the cot, higher than any conventional cot, preventing the fabric of the sack from swinging, and consequently, avoiding the danger of the cot tipping over, which could occur if someone were to lean on the cot laterally, due to its low weight.</p>
<heading id="h0004"><b>DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES</b></heading>
<p id="p0012" num="0012">In order to complement the description given below and with the aim of providing better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, in accordance with a preferred example of it, this description is accompanied by a set of figures which form an integral part of it, where, for the purpose of illustration and without limitation, the following is represented:
<ul id="ul0001" list-style="none">
<li><figref idref="f0001">Figure 1</figref>. Shows a perspective exploded view of the components that form the general framework of the cot, showing detail of the plugging and clipping of the legs.</li>
<li><figref idref="f0001">Figure 2</figref>. Shows a perspective view of the cot framework now including the sack held by the zips on the upper frame of the framework shown in the previous figure.</li>
<li><figref idref="f0002">Figure 3</figref>. Shows a perspective view, as in the previous figure, additionally showing a top perspective view of the plate forming the bed base and detail of how the bed base is clipped to the cross-struts of the<!-- EPO <DP n="4"> --> framework.</li>
<li><figref idref="f0002">Figure 4</figref>. Shows a perspective view of the whole assembly shown in the previous figure, with the inclusion of the covered mattress in the exploded view.</li>
</ul></p>
<heading id="h0005"><b>PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION</b></heading>
<p id="p0013" num="0013">The figures referred to above, specifically <figref idref="f0001">figure 1</figref>, show the framework for the baby cot of the invention comprising a type of frame (1) with rounded corners and two pairs of legs (2), each pair linked to each other by means of a cross-strut (3), so that these pairs of legs couple to the frame (1) by plugging their tops into short arm (5) emerging only from the frame (1), the legs being fixed by means of a clipping device housing a nipple (5) on the short arm (4) and a hole (6) at the top end of the respective leg (2), as shown in <figref idref="f0001">figure 1</figref>.</p>
<p id="p0014" num="0014">On the framework so constituted and specifically over the frame (1) is assembled a type of fabric sack (7) of prismatic rectangular shape, the opening of which has a fold-over edge that is fixed to the frame (1) by zips (9), so that the bottom of the sack (7) is supported on the cross-struts (3) of the framework.</p>
<p id="p0015" num="0015">The cot is complemented with the bed base (10), which is made of a rigid plate or board and which is located on the bottom of the sack (7), and is fixed to prevent it moving by pegs (11) arranged on the lower side of the bed base (10) which pass through respective slits (12) in the form of eyelets made in the bottom of the sack (7), with these pegs (11) clipping onto the cross-struts (3) of the general framework.<!-- EPO <DP n="5"> --></p>
<p id="p0016" num="0016">Finally, the cot is complemented with the corresponding mattress (13) with its cover, which is supported by the bed base (10) and said mattress is complemented with the appropriate pillow (14).</p>
<p id="p0017" num="0017">The assembled cot is rigid, simple, of minimum weight, that is easy to handle, and most importantly, is totally stable by virtue of the general framework configuration and the cross-struts (3) that fix the pairs of legs (2) between them, making it almost impossible for the cot to overturn, even though a person leans laterally on it.</p>
<p id="p0018" num="0018">Lastly, the cot can be complemented with self-steering wheels (15), set in the bottoms of the legs (2) also by means of clipping, as can be seen in the detail of <figref idref="f0002">figure 4</figref>.</p>
