(54) Screw conveyor


(57) There is provided an embodiment of a screw conveyor (100) comprising a conveyor duct (102) for conveying material and an inlet duct (104) leading to the conveyer duct (102) for introducing the material into the conveyor duct (102). The inlet duct (104) comprises an inlet wall (105). A rotatable conveyor screw (106) is arranged in the conveyor duct (102) for transporting the material from the inlet duct (104) through the conveyor duct (102). A wear element (114) is provided, the wear element (114) forming an edge (111) between the inlet duct (104) and the conveyor duct (102). The wear element (114) has a wall portion (113) which forms part of the inlet duct (104) and abuts the inlet wall (105). Further, the wear element (114) only partially encompasses the conveyor screw (110) so as to be removable to thereby provide a free space between the inlet wall (105) and the conveyer screw (110).
