(54) Lighting device with tubular elements


(57) A wall-mountable LED lighting device (1) for indirect lighting comprises a main body (4) having a main extension along a curvilinear main axis (X) and tubular cross section reduced with respect to the length of the body. The main body comprises a frame, opaque to the light emitted by the light source, and a screen (40) facing towards the supporting plate (2), which can be fitted to the frame.







Description


[0001] The present invention relates to a lighting device having a particularly decorative impact.

[0002] In the lighting sector devices which are highly functional are widely appreciated, that is to say able to sufficiently illuminate a room and easy to install, with particularly simple lines.

[0003] The purpose of the present invention is to make a functional lighting device which is easy to install and has particularly simple lines.

[0004] Such purpose is achieved by a lighting device according to claim 1.

[0005] The characteristics and advantages of the lighting device according to the present invention, will be evident from the description below, made by way of a nonlimiting example with reference to the attached drawings, wherein:

[0014] With reference to the appended drawings, reference numeral 1 globally denotes a lighting device.

[0015] Preferably, the lighting device 1 is suitable to be fitted to a wall, such as a side wall of a room to be illuminated.

[0016] Preferably, the device 1 comprises a supporting plate 2 for connection to the support or to the wall.

[0017] Moreover, the device 1 comprises a main body 4 having its main extension along a main axis X, curvilinear or partially rectilinear or partially curvilinear.

[0018] The main body 4 is tubular, for example closed peripherally; for example the cross-section is circular.

[0019] According to embodiment variations, the cross-section is ellipsoidal or polygonal.

[0020] The length of the main body, that is the extension along the main axis X, is much greater than the characteristic dimension of the cross-section defined by the intersection of the main body with a plane orthogonal to the main axis.

[0021] For example, for a circular cross-section, the characteristic dimension is the diameter; for an ellipsoidal cross section, the characteristic dimension is the major or minor axis; for a polygonal cross section the characteristic dimension is a side or a diagonal.

[0023] According to figures 1 and 1a, the main body 4 comprises a rectilinear section 6, preferably connected to a curvilinear section 8, for example such as to wind in coils 10 around itself.

[0038] According to further embodiments of the invention, a lighting assembly comprises a plurality of lighting devices, for example provided with respective main bodies ringed together.

[0039] The lighting device 1 further comprises at least one light source, for example composed of a plurality of LEDs, housed in the main body 4.

[0040] For example, the main body 4 comprises an inner compartment and a screen 40 which covers it, transparent to the light emitted by the light source.

[0041] Preferably, the screen is made in plastic material, for example methacrylate.

[0042] Preferably, the screen 40 faces towards the supporting plate 2, so that the lighting device provides indirect light.

[0043] According to embodiment variations, the screen is opposite the supporting plate, to make lighting devices providing direct light.

[0044] For example, in one embodiment (figure 4), the screen 40 is fitted to the primary portion of the main body 4.

[0045] The main body 4 further comprises a frame, composed of the part remaining over the screen 40. The frame is preferably opaque to the light emitted by the light source.

[0046] According to some embodiments, the frame of the main body 4 and/or the supporting plate is made in metallic material, for example in aluminium.

[0047] According to other embodiments, the frame of the main body and/or the supporting plate is made of plaster, reinforced plaster or plasterboard.

[0048] In embodiments of the invention, the supporting plate is suitable to be recessed in the wall, preferably concealed, so that only the main body projects from the wall, with considerable and appreciable aesthetic effects (figure 5, 6, 6a and 7).

[0049] Innovatively, the lighting device according to the present invention is of considerable aesthetic appeal, is particularly functional in lighting rooms and is simple to install.

[0050] Advantageously, moreover, the device is a very simple shape, recalling basic geometric elements.

[0051] Advantageously, moreover, the device has a subtle shape and lines, such as not to overburden the surrounding environment.

[0052] According to a further advantageous aspect, the device, according to some embodiments, leaves only the characteristic aesthetic elements on view.

[0053] It is clear that a person skilled in the art may make modifications to the lighting device described above so as to satisfy contingent requirements, all contained within the sphere of protection as defined by the appended claims.


Claims

1. A wall-mountable lighting device (1) for indirect lighting comprising:

- a supporting plate (2);

- at least a main body (4) having a main extension along a curvilinear main axis (X) and tubular cross section reduced with respect to the length of the body, having an inner compartment and supported by the supporting plate (2);

- at least a light source housed in the inner compartment of the main body (4) consisting of a plurality of LEDs; wherein the main body comprises a frame, opaque to the light emitted by the light source, and a screen (40) facing towards the supporting plate (2), which can be fitted to the frame, said frame being composed of the part of the main body remaining over the screen (40), said screen being made to cover the inner compartment and transparent to the light of the light source.


 
2. Device according to the claim 1, wherein the characteristic relationship between the length of the main body and the characteristic dimension of the section is above 10, preferably above 20, preferably above 30, preferably above 50.
 
3. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the plate is suitable for being recessed in the wall to which the device is mountable.
 
4. Device according to any one of the preceding claims wherein the main axis (X) lies on a single imaginary plane.
 
5. Device according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the main body (4) has at least two end extremities (30,32) protruding from the supporting plate (2), thereby forming a ring element.
 
6. Device according to claim 5, wherein the main axis (X) of the main body (4) lies on a single imaginary plane incident with the supporting plate (2).
 
7. Device according to any one of the claims from 1 to 4, wherein the main body (4) comprises a primary portion (20) having an own axis and a secondary portion (22) having an own axis, wherein said axes lie on distinct and incident imaginary planes, e.g., at right angles.
 
8. Device according to the claim 7, wherein the screen (40) is fitted to the primary portion (20).
 
9. Device according to the claim 7 or 8, wherein the primary portion (20) is concave towards the supporting plate (2).
 
10. Device according to any of the claims from 7 to 9, wherein the secondary portion (20) is supported by the supporting plate (2), in intermediate position.
 
11. Device according to any of the previous claims, wherein the main axis (X) forms a closed line, broken and/or with curvilinear sections.
 
12. Device according to any of the previous claims, wherein the frame and/or the plate are made of metal material, e.g., aluminium, or of plastic material opaque to the light.
 
13. Device according to any of the claims from 1 to 11, wherein the frame and/or the plate are made of plaster, reinforced plaster or plasterboard.
 
14. Lighting device according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising a plurality of main bodies (4,4') connected to the same supporting plate (2).
 
15. Lighting assembly comprising a plurality of lighting devices (1) made according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the main bodies (4) of the lighting devices (1) are ringed together.
