Skiing exerciser

Abstract

 A skiing exerciser includes a pair of handles (20) attached to a base (10) for supporting an upper portion of a user, a cushion (30) disposed on the base (10), and a platform (50) mounted on the cushion (30) for supporting the user and for simulating a skiing operation, the cushion (30) includes a chamber (31) for forming a tubular element (32) and for increasing a resilience of the cushion (30), the cushion (30) includes an outer peripheral recess (33) for increasing a resilience of the cushion (30) and for allowing the cushion (30) to be suitably deformed or twisted or squeezed or depressed or compressed by the user.

Description

[0001] The invention relates to a skiing exerciser.

[0002] Typical skiing exercisers comprise a pair of handles, a pair of rails, and a pair of foot pedals slidably engaged with the rails. However, the foot pedals may only be slide along the rails but may not be moved up and down relative to the uneven ground.

[0003] The invention aims at providing a new type of skiing exerciser for simulating the actual skiing operations and/or exercises.

[0004] This technical problem is solved by an exerciser as indicated in the claims.

[0006] Referring to FIGS. 1-3, a skiing exerciser comprises a base 10, a pair of handles 20 and a cushion 30. The cushion 30 is arranged on the base 10 (FIGS. 2-4) by means of latches or fasteners

[0007] The base 10 includes a pair of joints 11 for mounting said pair of handles 20 which may be retractable. The handles 20 are arranged at opposite sides of the cushion and are movable back and forth about the joints 11. Preferably, the joints 11 are arranged at the level of the cushion 30, i.e. at approximately the same height.

[0008] The cushion 30 is disposed on the base 10 (FIGS. 2-4) with latches or fasteners and includes a chamber 31 for defining a tubular element 32 and an outer peripheral recess 33 for increasing the resilience of the cushion 30.

[0009] A foot support or platform 50 is mounted on the cushion 30 with latches or fasteners for supporting a user 8. The foot support or platform 50 has a dimension greater than that of the cushion 30 for allowing the outer peripheral portion 51 of the platform 50 to be extended out of the cushion 30, the cushion 30 may be depressed to simulate the actual skiing operations (FIGS. 5-10).

[0010] The foot support or platform 50 extends laterally beyond the cushion 30 to fully cover the cushion 30. It may also fully cover the base 10 with the cushion 30 being sandwiched between the platform 50 and base 10.

[0011] In operation, the user 8 may hold the handles 20 and may depress the cushion 30 with or without the platform 50 in order to simulate the actual skiing operations or exercises. In other words, in another embodiment the exerciser works without the platform 50 and the user steps onto the cushion directly.

[0012] The user 8 may step on the central portion and/or the outer peripheral portion 51 of the platform 50, and is not required to be moved away from the platform 50 such that the skiing exerciser is good for rehabilitation operations. The skiing exerciser may be easily manufactured and assembled with the reduced manufacturing procedures and cost.

Claims

1. A skiing exerciser comprising:

- a base (10), and

- a pair of handles (20) attached to the base (10),

characterized in that
a resilient cushion (30) is disposed on the base (10) for supporting a user.

2. A skiing exerciser as claimed in claim 1, wherein the cushion (30) includes a chamber (31) for forming a tubular element (32).

3. A skiing exerciser as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the cushion (30) includes an outer peripheral recess (33).

4. A skiing exerciser as claimed in any of claims 1 to 3, wherein the cushion (30) includes a platform (50) mounted on the cushion (30).

5. A skiing exerciser as claimed in claim 4, wherein the platform (50) includes an outer peripheral portion (51) extended out of the cushion (30).

6. A skiing exerciser as claimed in one of claim 1 to 5, wherein the cushion (30) is arranged between the handles (20).

7. A skiing exerciser as claimed in one of claim 1 to 6, wherein the handles (20) are pivotally connected to the base (10) cushion (30) at level of the cushion (30).
