Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a sliding door system that has a stop mechanism with adjustable levels and which provides the door to remain locked at the point where it is moved after the door opens.

Prior Art

[0002] In order to keep the sliding door systems in locked state, active lock systems and spring-loaded stops are used. As a result of the process inputs and part tolerances (INOX-A1SI 302 spring, bracket for retaining the lugs of the spring etc.) high variability occurs in the closing force of the sliding door within the spring-loaded systems (passive door stop) that are used as a sliding door stop. This value changes at about 60N in average. By compensating these variabilities with the help of the current adjusting mechanism, a change of 20N will occur at the closing/opening force of the sliding door.

[0003] A stop is disclosed within the German Patent document with the number DE10347324 among the applications within the state of the art, which has a locking latch located on the guide rail that uses the compression of a spring towards the contact point of the latch on the door for stopping the sliding vehicle door moving on the guide rail in open or closed positions. The force of the spring can be adjusted.

Brief Description of the Invention

[0004] The object of the present invention is to provide a sliding door system with a stop mechanism that provides the sliding door remain locked until a certain force is applied.

[0005] Another object of the invention is to provide a sliding door system with a stop mechanism where the locking force can be adjusted.

Detailed Description of the Invention

Fig. 1 is the side view of the sliding door system with stop mechanism.

Fig. 2 is the cross-sectional view of the stop mechanism.

Fig. 3 is the perspective view where inside of the stop mechanism can be seen.

[0007] The parts in the figures are enumerated and corresponding reference numerals given below:
  1. 1. Sliding door system with stop mechanism
  2. 2. Sliding door
  3. 3. Guide roller
  4. 4. Stop mechanism
  5. 5. Track
  6. 6. Pocket
  7. 7. Clearance
  8. 8. Extension
  9. 9. Roller bracket
  10. 10. Door stop roller
  11. 11. Spring
  12. 12. Adjustment Cap
  13. 13. Hole
  14. 14. Fixing element (Setscrew)
  15. 15. Recess

[0008] The sliding door system with stop mechanism (1) according to the invention comprises the following;
  • at least one sliding door (2),
  • at least one guide roller (3) to provide the movement of the sliding door (2),
  • at least one track (5) to determine the movement path of the sliding door (2) and
  • a box shaped pocket (6) in preferably a rectangular prism shape and that has a clearance (7) on its surface corresponding to the track (5) and an extension (8) with its two edges open that are on the opposite surface when positioned on the sliding door (2),
  • at least one roller bracket (9) retained on the pocket (6) in a way that it can rotate uniaxially from one of its edges and which extends along the pocket (6),
  • at least one door stop roller (10) that is fixed on the roller bracket (9) on its central point and contacts the track (5) by extending out of the pocket (6) through the clearance (7) on surface of the pocket (6) against the track (5),
  • at least one spring (11) that extends along the extension (8) on the pocket (6) and connected to the free edge of the bracket (9) from the edge outside the pocket (6),
  • At least one adjustment cap (12) that is combined with the spring (11) from far edge of the bracket (9) of the spring (11),
  • at least two holes (13) - one on the adjustment cap (12) and the other on the extension (8) - that become on the same level when the adjustment cap (12) is positioned in the extension (8),
  • a stop mechanism (4) comprising at least one fixing element (14) that provides the adjustment cap (12) to be fixed at a certain position and as a result, the spring (11) to be set, by getting through the holes (13) on the extension (8) and the adjustment cap (12) and
  • at least one recess (15), positioned between two guide rollers (3) that provide the movement of the sliding door (2) on the track (5) and large enough for the door stop roller (10) to get in.

[0009] The stop mechanism (4) used in the sliding door systems (1) according to the invention is capable of being adjusted and preferably positioned on the sliding door close to the track (5) where it moves on the sliding door (2). The stop mechanism can be, according to the positions of the tracks (5) used in the sliding door system (1), positioned on the lower, middle or higher parts of the sliding door.

[0010] In the sliding door system (1) having stop mechanism according to the invention, the pocket (6) including the locking parts (8, 9, 10, 11, 12) is connected to the track (5) on which the sliding door (2) moves, from the closer edges thereto. The door stop roller (10) inside the pocket (6) is fastened from its central point to the roller bracket (9), which is fixed on one edge to the pocket (6) and the other edge to a spring (11). Furthermore, during the fixing of the pocket (6) on the sliding door (2), the door stop roller (10) is positioned in a way to contact the track (5) and the roller (10) moves on by maintaining this contact on the track (5) during the movement of the sliding door (2). The spring (11) located between the roller bracket (9) and adjustment cap (12) is tightened between the roller bracket (9) and adjustment cap (12) as the adjustment cap (12) is moved in the extension (8) and fixed using the fixing element (14). By tightening the spring (11) thanks to the adjustment cap (12), the sliding door (2) stop mechanism (4) is set and gets ready for service.

[0011] Stop mechanism (4) block the movement of the sliding door (2), during the time sliding door (2) move on the track (5), when the roller (10) in contact with the track (5) reaches the recess (15) on the track (5), the power applied by the roller bracket (9) and accordingly by the spring (11) gets in this recess (15). By this means, the sliding door (2) is fixed at this position. The needed force to move the sliding door (2) again after this stop can be determined by changing the position of the adjustment cap (12) located in the extension (8).

[0012] Thanks to the stop mechanism (4) of the sliding door system (1), the variability in the opening/closing force of the sliding door (2) is reduced. By moving the adjustment cap (12), intensity of the force applied by the spring (11) is changed and the necessary force to move the door (2) again can be determined.

[0013] It is possible to develop various applications of the sliding door with stop mechanism (1) according to the invention without drifting away from this main concept, and the invention cannot be limited to the examples explained herein, but it is mainly as in the claims below.
